Who is the Richest Athlete
I'm from neither of those, coming - as I do - from a tiny place in Midlothian called Edinburgh. It's only a small place, so you might not have heard of it.

Cliff's Musical History Bid
That's cos most of his fans probably don't even know what the Internet is. They also think email is what a Yorkshireman says when he gets post.

Now That's What I Call Music 71
If Now 70 is anything to go by, we should be seeing the tracklisting around 31 October - so about another two months or so. Wonder when the first provisional one will appear on Wikipedia.

 (I did.)

Who is the Richest Athlete
Trevor Mispeka. If you've never heard of him, he entered the 100m at the 2001 World Athletics Championships, and did it in 14.28seconds. Not surprising, really, when you consider he weighed over 20 stone. See also Wikipedia.

Xmas No.1 - Early Contender?
In the style of Wikipedia, [citation needed].

If BHS&A still was in publication...........
The Top 500 of All Time, IIRC, was for the acts, not the songs. It also used albums from 2004's edition onwards.

The 4th Quarter Is Almost Upon Us
 Yes - Just like the Sugababes' next album is gonna be called "6th Studio Album".

The world set to end on Saturday
Note - Paddy Power are offering odds of 50,000/1 on this destroying the world. How any successful punters will get their winnings is, as yet, unknown. (Mind you, there is one good thing - if you bet everything and lose, it's not the end of the world.)

Xmas No.1 - Early Contender?
 But then the Argos catalogue - which came out in July - has them as well. (Mind you, they don't go on sale until October.) Anybody remember when the Christmas season started on December 1?
-
Anyone else fed up...
I bloody well am as well - I thought that including downloads would be a good thing, but they've slowed right down that it wouldn't surprise me if we have the same songs in the Top 10 three weeks running (apart from the post-Christmas chart, obviously).

Oh my! :o
I heard in 2006 (after Dima's first appearance) that he was bi.

Has there been any other week when all of the Top 3 has been downloads only?

UEFA Champions League Thread 2008/2009
With the exception of the Turks living in Cyprus, what's the difference between Greece and Cyprus anyway. <joke, btw>

A New Voting Procedure for 2009?
How about removing the ability to vote from those that don't qualify? Like performing in the Final, it should be a priviledge to be earnt, not a right just because you enter.

A BIG Pop Thing is Coming!
You mean the greatest hits one that had its tracklisting picked by fans and was announced in the Sun in early July?

If they do, I'll be the first in line to watch you do this.

British Hit Singles and Albums
Unless they're going to have up to June, what's the point in releasing it in November, when it'll be almost a year out of date?

Steve McClaren goes Dutch
No offense, but Greece (officially the worst team of the 16 there) probably would have beaten you.

Beijing 08
I have to say something about the Closing Ceremony - I love the way the head of the Beijing Organising Committee clapped himself after every few lines. Then you see Jacques Rogge, who doesn't clap when he's doing his speech - and then calling out to the young of the world* to convene in London in 2012. But why in French - iirc, he did it in English in Athens. * - Which, this year, included a 67 year old horserider from Japan. Edit: Found him - Hiroshi Hoketsu, who was born in 1941. He has previous experience, too - he finished 40th in showjumping in the 1964 Games (in Tokyo), and qualified for the 1988 Games in Seoul; he had to withdraw, mind - quarantine issues.

Beijing 08
She might be - her and Yang Yilin are having their year of birth investigated. If it turns out they were born in 1994 - as is being claimed - they'll have no choice but to have their medals rescinded. Which means that Beth Tweddle will win silver in the uneven bars. And also, I'm half-Irish, so well done to them on getting (at worst) a silver. Even if he did beat a Brit to get it.

Radio 1 Weekend line up changes
I agree - I can't understand why they got rid of JK and Joel and kept them.
