Has a Preston fan, I don't care. I just hope we don't get Man City in the next round (should they beat Sheffield United tomorrow, of course - although that's only 'cos my flatmate Jo supports them).

Let's face it: Blink aside, Series 3 was rubbish.
  3. After Derby-Preston, that's the game I'm most interested in. (And it's only because I support Preston.) And the BBC promote it with the tagline "the magic of the FA Cup". So their games this weekend: Saturday lunchtime: Mansfield Town vs Middlesbrough Saturday evening: Wigan Athletic vs Chelsea Sunday afternoon: Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur Magic my arse.

It's how it's performed on the night that matters. After all, Ireland's entry last year was great in the studio, but she couldn't hit a note on the actual night (hence why they finished bottom).
  5. If they're using the voting stats for the pots*, how did they decide to put Azerbaijan and San Marino - both of whom are making their debut appearance in Eurovision this year - in Pot 6? Personally, I'd have put all of them in one pot and drawn them out one by one. * - Why else would Ireland and Lithuania be in the same pot, since the former gave the latter their 12 in both 2006 shows and the 2007 Final?
  6. Acutally, wouldn't they be English? Let's look at the stats: Population of England: 50,762,900 Population of Scotland: 5,116,900 Population of Wales: 2,958,600 Population of Northern Ireland: 1,710,300 (With the exception of Northern Ireland - which came from 2004 - these were all estimates in 2006.) As you can see, there's five times as many people in England as in the rest of the United Kingdom combined. (Mind you, this doesn't differentiate between, for example, Scots living in England.)
  7. Since Soulja Boy was No2 (I believe) in the Christmas chart - and the fact that January usually sees sh!t songs being released - probably. After all, if this can outsell this 4-1, who knows?
  8. What, really? :lol::lol::lol:

    That's already out of the Top 75. :) For me: 1 - (surprise) Soulja Boy (Worst) 2 - Nickelback 3 - Mark + Amy 4 - Leon Jackson 5 - T2 and Jodie

And the problem with that is…

And if you missed it on BBC Three last night, you can see (an admittedly edited version of) it on Tuesday on BBC2 at 7pm.
  12.:rofl::rofl: Edit - Anybody know the rescheduled date for the Derby-Wednesday replay?
  13. I was thinking about this earlier (in a quiet part of the day). It was then that I don't expect the average music fan to know or even care whether Chasing Cars or Rehab are in the chart still. (And also, I guess that, because I'm downloading songs that I remember but either never had the song on CD or have lost it, then I've only just noticed it. And this really applied when I first got my iPod, because I was downloading songs from the 80s and/or 90s - and still am, thinking of it.) And also, to ScottyEm - what would you like the OCC to do with the rules? I think they're fine as they are now.
  14. I wonder if anyone else spotted the two mistakes in the article.

Bloody hell - no Pigeon Detectives? Are they feeling OK?
  16. New Alba's entry: Artist - Nik Kershaw Title - The Riddle YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlYt8tvuB64

    1 - Crank That (worst) 2 - Heartbroken 3 - Rockstar 4 - Valerie 5 - I Fought The Lloyds (I haven't actually heard this, but if it's based on I Fought The Law - a song I absolutely hate - then it should be here)

A quick stat: Average lifespan of a Newcastle manager - 18 months. As above, but remove Keegan - 9 months.
  19. I somewhat agree with him - especially the bit about Chasing Cars. (I downloaded that in June 2006, and can't believe there are people who are only just noticing it, easily 18 months later.) PS - Radio 1 also have a role in this as well: if they had someone decent doing the chart, more people would listen to it. I know I'd start listening to it again.
  20. So far: Singles - I haven't brought one since 2005. Albums - N/a. Downloads - Superstar: Lupe Fiasco. May download some more later this week.

No Eurovision Song Contest? For shame.

And do something that we'd actually like? (I just wonder what it's gonna be like when the BBC allow phone-in competitions to return.) Also - I used to listen to it every week (either live or on listen again) when it was Wes and JK & Joel. Thanks to F&R, I don't listen to it anymore, and Sunday was the first time I heard it since whenever. And that's only 'cos I had driven to Manchester Airport to pick Angie up after her holiday in Dublin. That's when I remembered why I don't listen to it anymore.
  23. I don't care about our draw. All I know is that Preston are going to go further than Blackpool, Blackburn and Burnley. And that's fine by me.
  24. And someone else forgets that the reason the United Kingdom have had sh!t results since 2003 (inclusive, natch) is due to having sh!t songs. I mean, who the f*** in their right minds voted for Scooch last year? We might have done better if Cyndi had won (like Terry Wogan originally said).

That was hilarous. And just think - despite that screw-up, it's still not the biggest f***-up that BBC have done in the name of research for a music show. Remember the first of the "all new" Top Of The Pops? They had a competition to see Robbie Williams in Australia. All you had to do was phone in and say which of the three choices was Robbie Williams' first No1 - Millennium wasn't one of the choices. They then had to change the question so that they could give the prize away. And something that annoys me: Reggie saying, "that's your NoX." Unless you know what everybody likes, that's not a factual statement, that's just stating where it is in the chart. (PS - When was Rihanna No1 for 11 weeks? And how can Kate Nash make No1 and No3 with the same song?)
