  1. Oh, I see - any of their stuff against foreigners isn't racist, but this is.
  2. So that makes it alright, then? If I was to do that to someone in Preston City Centre, I would be quite rightly arrested. So how did he manage to get away with it?
  3. No - it's Ireland that always gives us points. (I think it's more us being their only neighbours - like they are for us - that gave us that many points.)
  4. If it's anything like last year, quite a few of them will be showing the SF that they aren't in. Last year, they were (deep breath) the United Kingdom, San Marino, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Malta, Serbia, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Portugal, Cyprus, Israel, Estonia, Turkey, Latvia, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Andorra, Albania, Bulgaria, Iceland, Sweden and Romania (all in all, 30 countries). Also, two other questions (one rhetorical, one not so): 1 - Anybody wondering where Greece's and Cyprus' 12pts are going in the Semis this year? 2 - Much like last year, is Caroline Flack going to be going around (and getting pissed in) Moscow?
  5. I'd have watched the early-to-mid 70s, simply to see if the characters adopted the clothing of the glam rockers of the time.
  6. So that's where Al-Qaeda got their ideas from. Next they'll be saying that the writers of Spooks had someone from Al-Qaeda listening in, due to them filming a double episode featuring terrorists bombing London a few months before the July 7 attacks.
  7. And why are Scünthorpe 9th in the most hated list?
  8. So a group that not a lot of people have heard of (of the people I work with, only Ruby and myself - vaguely - have heard of them) are covering Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough. And it's gonna go to No1* as well. At least they're not doing Enjoy The Silence. * - Although, let's face it, a cover of either this or this would go to No1 if it was for charity. (Those two chosen simply because of how sh!te they both are, even by Eurovision standards.)
  9. Now if only the BBC would finally put Last Of The Summer Wine out of its misery.
  10. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:   Olivia's club's the most loved? She's gonna love that.
  11. Why do the words "pot", "kettle" and "black" spring to mind? (Mind you, at least Jordan Katie Price would wear something on her legs if she was in London in January.)

I know - how will both of you cope?
  13. They also spent money on Michelle McManus and David Sneddon. (Mind you, they also spent in to, basically, decide who would leave the Big Brother house, have an interview, then go straight back in afterwards.)
  14. Probably the same way that the IOC decided that the Netherlands Antilles should have "AHO".

    <pedant> Who's Amy Whitehouse? </pedant>

It was Tesco's only. Hence its non-appearance in the list.

IIRC, S Club 7 did the Children In Need songs in both 2000 and 2001.

Yes, they have changed - Annie Lennox and/or Kate Bush are no longer automatically included in the shortlist for Best British Female.

And that's incorrect - the team that finishes 5th already go into the UEFA Cup Europa League. So it would go to the team that finishes 6th.

We're currently on the 1087th chart-topper. So, when will the 1100th be? If you want to make a more exact prediction, then feel free to do so. Personally, I predict July to September 2009. (Note - The first choice is "April -> June 2009" because the first possible week for it is 19th April. This assumes that each chart-topper only spends a week at No1.)

Those were two of my favourite songs of 2000. So, because they've been on the chart for "so long", they'll be remembered in 2016? (Obviously, if they're remembered when Chicago hosts the Olympics, you can quote me on that. You can also quote me if Chicago doesn't get the 2016 Olympics.)
  22. I'd have to say Jo. Jo (my housemate) says Jo (the Man City player) as well. And she supports Man City.

Can somebody tell me why Take That have fewer nominations than Scouting For Girls? Especially when you consider that Take That's album sold a million copies quicker than any other album this century. And to Aled - Taio Cruz didn't get nominated 'cos he's crap.
  24. My particular favourite was how people were having a go at him for telling an overweight kid who wanted to be an astronaut had to loose a few pounds.
  25. If that's the same, how come Claudia is dyslexic and I'm not, despite her English teacher also be mine straight the way through school?
