Again, no performance for Will at the Brits. Grrr. Not that I really seriously expected it. :( And I'm so so pessimistic about him winning now. :( But I'm probably just projecting my private feelings about myself onto this stupid Brits thing.

I'm happy about Will's best male nomination (though it's no more than I expected!) :D but... my other feelings will be posted in another thread.

QUOTE(robjames18 @ Jan 20 2009, 06:29 PM) British Male Solo Artist Ian Brown James Morrison Paul Weller The Streets Will Young He has been nominated every year that he's been eligible. :) He'd better win it this time, though, otherwise I'll explode. Today's Will's birthday. Come on.....!
  4. Hope the Young Ones are having a fine day - and that it'll be a great start to a successful new year for them. :cheer: H A P P Y :cheer: B I R T H D A Y :cheer:
  5. N.I. residents will be happy about that! :D Thanks for posting!
  6. BYM&M's - you cheated! :P You weren't supposed to pick that many from one album. ;) Seriously, though, I really like Disc One, and the only track on Disc Two I don't like is "Gonna Get It This Time". Most people over on D have raved about that one, but I just can't get into it. :manson:
  7. ... and it wasn't Christmas either, but quite a "dead" time of year, 2 weeks after Valentine's/2 weeks before Mothering Sunday and nowhere near Easter! Me, too, that was so special.
  8. Okay, finally I've managed to decide on one possibility. This is actually really hard  so I'm not surprised others haven't done that either. Anyway, here goes, not sure about the orders of songs, but I think I'd like these two discs: Disc One (15 tracks) Stronger Lovestruck Over You Ticket To Love Alibi of Love Cry You and I Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight Going My Way Ready Or Not Dance The Night Away Free From Now On Say That I Love You Keep On Disc Two (13 tracks) Friday’s Child This Is Who I Am All Time Love Tell Me The Worst Changes Ain’t Such A Bad Place To Be If Love Equals Nothing Won’t Look Down Think About It All I Want You Don’t Know Love Home One thing that is really important to me in an album is that I like the opening track and the last track. For me, I like the closing tracks on the Will's first 3 albums, but the opening ones only on his last 2 albums. So, for Keep On, Will got it right, hehe. ;)
  9. A little bit of joking is ok in my book, but they took it just a couple of nuances too far. Typical! Good info, though. :)
  10. Yep, you're quite right. There's a big difference between selling 500k+ singles a week with half of them costing just 79p and selling 1.108m physical singles at £3.99. :D
  11. Yeah, I know, I think even Will would see the reasoning and sentiment behind that. I think I might even include it myself, but as a hidden track tucked away at the end of the first disc, and probably a live version (from the Winter Tour DVD perhaps as that one sounded quite beautiful  ). I'll come up with my own Will-album, soon, this weekend! Haven't really had time this week (work and all that).
  12. I'd buy that album, suggy! :D But I'd skip the first track.

Had a great time yesterday at the panto. :) I was actually front row (didn't know beforehand that I would be). My only criticism of the show would be that it was over-long, they could have cut down a little on the ugly stepsisters and Button's bits, but then I guess those parts are the most fun for the little children. The costumes were gorgeous (and truly garish when it came to the ugly stepsisters ). Gareth's singing was good, he has improved a lot since PI and is now virtually pitch-perfect, and his diction has improved, too, which is very important for musical theatre, so I guess this is good training for him for Joseph. His acting was good, too, not a single glitch or hiccup in his speech! :) I guess for him, speaking is easier when it's scripted than when he's in an interview situation and has to think and speak "on the hoof" so to speak. Joanna Page (Cinderella) was the weaker singer of the two females, but she was sweet. The lady who played the fairy godmother (Louise s.th. I think) sang really well. Met an elderly Gareth fan who was also in the front row. She told me she'd been 17 times to see the show! :o That's devotion. Don't think I could stand that, even if all my favourite singers filled the main roles. She had a banner that read s.th. like "Gareth, supporting you always", which she was hoping to get signed afterwards. Hope she managed to meet him or sees him on one of the other occasions she's seeing the show. I think I will try to get tickets for Joseph. :D

That's what I thought. Kind of an anniversary. :)
  15. I killed my own thread in the first post! Maybe somebody else can dream about 2010 then. Like, what about that film...? ;)
  16. Me, too. It's good!

:yahoo: Rah, I love it! The cover is just too gorgeous, and for once january is great (I don't know why but I often find with calendars people don't bother with January, it's like: oh, people won't care too much, they have a hangover from December ). January is important to me as it is my birthday month. ;) Oh, and Rupert has muscled his way in, well done laddie. :P
  18. My wild dreams for Will: Feb 2009 South Bank Show - check! - obviously not a wild dream, just really looking forward to this :) Brit Award: Best British Male  plus a live performance  - it would be long overdue! March 2009 Will's next single release - oh, this one will already come true! Some good promotion with this and great airplay April 2009 Arena tour announcement for September & October May 2009 We find out that Will is going to star in a film (main role) and speculation begins June 2009 Glasto - Will performs again and his performance is shown on television! :D Rest of summer 2009 Will pops up here and there (festivals), releases a 4th single (Won't Look Down or I Won't Give Up) but we get a little break Sep/Oct 2009 Autumn tour :yahoo: November 2009 He starts filming for his new film :w00t: but still has time to... ... release the deluxe album with 8 new chillout/disco tracks (recorded live!) on an extra CD Dualdisc which also contains live concert footage from his Keep On and Let It Go tour plus other gems. (I'm not greedy at all! :naughty:  ) December 2009 Let It Go (Deluxe Dualdisc) goes to No. 1 :cheer: and goes on to sell more than 500k (after the original version of LIG had gone 2x platinum by the end of summer) 2010 will follow....

Ta. I'm hoping for further additions in 2009, e.g. a b-side (although I doubt we'll see any more physical single releases), or some extra songs published with the "deluxe" edition, if there's gonna be one :w00t: or some new covers he does at the festivals (hopefully), etc etc etc. :yahoo: BTW, there's now a total of 132 songs on that list! :o Quite a few one-offs (or twice-offs ), but still! Impressive!

Off topic, but this is the newest Gareth thread, so I'll post here. Just wanted to say, I'm going to see Cinderella tomorrow and am really looking forward to it. Have only ever seen 1 panto before, back in the early 90s. It's my January treat. :D

Oh, lovely. I'm not too keen on the official one . Much as I think Will cuts a handsome figure in a suit, I thought the selection of photos is just too samey and lacking in imagination.

We've got another one to add, which was only just squeezed into 2008! ;)
  23. Yep, the first category is anything he's already performed live (e.g. I Couldn't Love You More, or even Until You Come Back To Me from his time on PI) The second category is anything you would like to hear Will cover. For instance, I would love to hear another Elton John song from Will, e.g. Your Song, maybe. Or perhaps another Joni Mitchell song. I agree, this is hard. Maybe we can also throw in a couple of dream duets! :D I just thought we might delay the boot & immune a little longer by something like this. ;) Truth is, I don't wanna do a b&i for LIG, as I don't want to boot anything off, the album is just too good.

Me, too, though I'd begun to look forward to I Won't Give Up and started imagining the vid! Can you imagine the video for Let It Go, though? I find it hard to think of anything other than a performance video - and it would have to be LIVE!
  25. It was a post by BanYellowM&Ms - 3rd single QUOTE Former-Pop Idol winner Will Young has revealed a surprising dream collaborator - screechy Icelandic popstrel Bjork. Berkshire-born Will expressed his admiration for the singer and actress, claiming that she tops his wish-list of artists to work with. He told the Daily Star: "My number one person to do work with is Björk. If she wanted to do something with me I'd be there in a flash." Will Young's new single, 'I Won't Give Up', is due for release in March. Each album of Will's i have always loved 2 of the 3 singles released...it's the same for LIG Changes and now 'I won't give up' Turns out this article was wrong after all!
