Oooh expect a sudden surge for Broken Strings, all of about one year after its release, Nelly and James are finally performing it together! :o

Amazing sales for Susan, definitely going to beat Leona, is she going to reach Take That's too?
  3. Because I have a bit of time on my hands, (okay a lot!) I thought I'd just go back through the archives so we can compare Susan's sales with the two previous biggest sellers so here goes: Tuesday Update: (2007) Leona Lewis - Spirit 123K (2008) Take That - The Circus 133K (2009) Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream 133.6K Wednesday Update: (2007) Leona Lewis - Spirit 179.5K (2008) Take That - The Circus 204.6K (2009) Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream 196.4K Thursday Update: (2007) Leona Lewis - Spirit 230K (2008) Take That - The Circus 256K (2009) Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream ??? So definitely well on course to break Leona's record but probably fall just short of The Circus B)

I thought Alex was around the 80 something mark and Cheryl was at something like 130K? So I expect it will come in closer to Bad Boys sales

Oooh so BEP overtaken Leona now...judging by the votes for where 'happy' would chart, I don't think anyone envisioned that :o I can't help but wonder if the posters who posted something along the lines of if 'Leona wasn't number 1 with Happy, they would stick their head in the oven' (Can't remember who) are sweating yet? :P It could still swing back in her favour though.
  6. Ah I see :) Explains the discrepancy between release dates on sites. I wasn't sure if it was getting a UK release either so was surprised to see it on websites. Thanks for the information.
  7. You have Adam Lambert down for 23rd November but isn't the winner Kris Allen releasing then too? Play.com and Amazon.co.uk have this date down also HMV have it down to buy as well but listed as 16th November release http://www.amazon.co.uk/TBC-Kris-Allen/dp/...1111&sr=1-1 http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/11066211/N...BA/Product.html http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetail...&sku=975709

Definite number 1 without a shadow of a doubt but for those that are saying it will be number 1 for a while, are we forgetting about this? "November 16th - X Factor Finalists - You Are Not Alone (performed live on the show on November 15th, in aid of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital) will surely be number 1, no?

You are so right, Simon Cowell is an evil mastermind who must be stopped!

That young DJ on Radio1 just mentioned it :puke2: Well done whoever called it earlier in this thread, it's now a horrific reality. The more you think about it, the way it became this year's anthem, it was sadly obvious, bloody Westlife.
  11. I went to Sheffield on the tour, here is my review from another forum: And here is what they played: Fantastic gig they have come on leaps and bounds even from last years festivals, so much more energy and confidence, they are a must see live!
  12. Yeah wasn't the single switched at a later date? Perhaps they just have the wrong information still. Yes I was glad she won too, it wasn't a popular opinion but I really like Katy's stuff.
  13. Um is 'Thinking of You' over in the UK over already? cos.... PS What happened at The BRITs last night - She was due to present the Critics Choice Award to Florence and The Machine but Kylie and Matthew Horne had to fill in. Did she go home early?

Thanks for the info Spiidey :) It's a shame the song deserves better but with no Itunes single, physical CD or promotion, it's getting what it deserves sadly :(

Hi, I'm guessing because it's not mentioned and their is no official single release,(No Itunes single release and limited vinyl) that The Killers 'Spaceman' is not going to make the Top 40? :(

Well as usual the BRITs excel in some downright bizarre nominations. Some notable absentees but due to BRIT rules can be explained Leona from Best Female - No album released in the qualifying period Dizee Rascal from Best Male - No album released in the qualifying period Rihanna from Best International Female - Despite releasing a gazillion singles no new album in the qualifying period But my biggest shocker is no Script! They suffer nomination wise from being Irish because I think they would have been a shoe in for British single and Breakthrough based on sales and airplay if they were English. It's a shame really but there is too much competition particularly from American acts in International categories for them to be noticed, maybe next year but they were my album of the year so bit gutted  Clearly R n B is not flavour of the month with BRITs panel, I never expected Chris Brown AND Ne Yo to be nominated but I thought atleast one would! Absolutely STUNNED to see Scouting for Girls with 3 nominations :o I had them down for Breakthrough but I would NEVER in a million years have guessed them for Best Live Act - seriously?! Why not Oasis or the kaiser chiefs who have both toured? In fact Oasis have been royally snubbed this year haven't they?! :o Also when I think of my favourite songs from 2008, 'Heartbeat' doesn't automatically jump out at me! Pleased to see Girls Aloud finally being treated with respect and have been asked to perform after being so permanently snubbed in the past even when Best Pop Act existed. I would like to see them win Best Single because with all the will in the world I can't see them winning Best Group although I would LOVE to be proved wrong! Oh and a win for Will in Best Male would be nice after SEVEN years in the business and after most so called experts predicted he wouldn't last 6 months B)
  17. I think the panel did snub Leona last year in the industry nominated awards, pardon me but I can't remember exactly what she was nominated for now but I do remember she seemed to be unfairly snubbed particularly for Best Female - Kate Nash was it? That's just the snobbery of the Brits panel who wouldn't dare vote for a reality show winner, unfortunately same reason why Will Young has never won Best British Male. But in categories nominated by the public she definitely stands a chance, I think if 'Run' is nominated if her fans get behind her she will win. It doesn't take much to pick up the phone. Last year she was up against Take That and may well be again but I think 'Run' has even more widespread appeal to get votes from outside her fanbase, ie even Snow Patrol fans who love the cover. GA, Will Young, X Factor winners are usually snubbed for winning industry awards but it is possible for them to win public awards. Will Young HAS won Brits - Best British Single for 'Your Game' and 'Best British Breakthrough Act' Weren't Girls Aloud nominated for Best British Group alongside Coldplay and co last year or was I dreaming?

According to an advert in Music Week it lists the following Sony/BMG artists new singles: Glasvegas - Flowers and Football Tops (Feb 16th) Will Young - Let It Go (Mar 22nd) Pink - Sober (Jan 19th) The Script - Talk You Down (Mar 2nd) Britney - Circus (Feb 16th) Beyonce - Halo (Feb 23rd) KINGS OF LEON - REVELRY (Feb 2009 date TBC) Not sure how official that is though
  19. I was just watching Orange Unsigned Act today and Mcfly were the band the acts were supporting. Anyway Alex Zane introduced Mcfly's performance as 'Mcfly performing their new single' and it was 'The Last Song' :D Is this confirmed anyway? I would be very happy with this choice and think it will get them back on track singles wise  PS I think you mean 2009 ;)
  20. TV magazines for this week have still not corrected the error...my Daily Mail guide clearly says Also.... Radio Times http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?...ls_fullpage.jsp  How very strange...it must have been close to being the second single for information to be released to publications, must have been a last minute change even though 'The Loving Kind' was always the obvious second single I would have thought
  21. I really really want The Killers to be number 1 on Itunes not sure if they will in the actual chart, is the physical out today as well? Was the download released at midnight monday or midnight sunday?
  22. I think I am actually obsessed with Untouchable  I just can't stop playing it, its so immense! Definitely my favourite GA song! Nadine is fantastic on the chorus especially and the 'robots' bit but all the girls sound amazing!
  23. I've just got my album, I don't normally buy Girls Aloud albums but was swayed by Tangled Up because I loved all the singles on it. That album was a bit disappointing, there was only about another two non singles on it that I liked... However, as a whole I LOVE this! Have only listened once but theres a few that have grabbed me instantly, I think my favourites so far are Rolling Back The Rivers..., Untouchable and Love is Pain  I've never bought any of the three previous studio albums (got the greatest hits) but I notice they are all insanely cheap online at the minute about £4 each so which is the best or should I just buy them all?!
  24. I got given the full Radio:Active album as a gift and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by some of the songs on it...not typical Mcfly at all...I was really hoping they might release one of the maturer songs, for example I adore POV, and Down Goes Another One. But no they release the one song that is just gonna reinforce the hate towards them and it sounds like they haven't moved on from Five Colours In Her Hair days, I know its for CIN but it really does them no favours -_- A shame because there are some genuinely quite great songs on Radio Active that might surprise a few people
  25. OMG HOW amazing is this news! :yahoo: I am so THRILLED at the X Factor effect on the album, back in the top 10 and with all those new releases too! Incredible! Agree he needs to get the video out there, it can't be long now though because pictures have surfaced on his website, and Heat and last time Heat had the pictures it wasn't long before we saw it? With no sign of a premiere on 4music or channel 4 in the coming days or weeks it wouldn't surprise me if we get totally caught out and it is added to the music channels this Friday/ weekend with no warning I really can't wait to see it! Good to see Grace charting too, I know album tracks have been allowed to chart for a while but have many? Obviously I know Viva La Vida did but have there been any others chart watchers? ;)
