  1. That 'theme' is such a cop out! Presumably they can pick literally anything by either an or artist? Going for wide themes then! How do you begin to choose from a theme as broad as that?

I watched the US series Bev and from memory it's pretty short, I think it was less than 12 weeks for the whole run (but they had 2 hour episodes for the auditions) from audition to final so imagine they'll use the same format, though I know after the hit it was in the States, they're extending it for the second series. Blind Auditions - 2 weeks Battle Rounds - 4 weeks Live Show Quarter Finals 2 weeks Live Show Semi Final 1 week Final - 1 week There was only 4 live shows even though they had 16 contestants because they whittled them down furiously fast! I'd imagine the UK version will take the same format at first. Spring next year I think is the proposed start :)

I now she wrote 'Party In The USA' for Miley Cyrus, but I'm not sure on other stuff, think she got signed ages ago and took ages to record her debut album. Adele would again seem ideal for this but don't think she'd have the time (and as you say her vocal problems are shocking and worrying to say the least!) In the US they tried to keep it as representing different genres you had the soul guy in Cee Lo Green, country artist Blake Shelton, the big diva Christina Aguilera and straight pop in Adam Levine so wonder if they will try keep the diverse range here. I could see them trying to get a rapper maybe even Dizzee Rascal who's had a bite at talent show judging already. Lenny Kravitz is strongly rumoured to fill a 'rock' position, which is an interesting choice but still think there's room for a male popstar, if it came down to a straight choice between someone like James and Will, I still would hope they would go with Will, who's done a bit of mentoring (on X Factor) and judging (when he stood in for Dizzee) and whose personality just shines through. I honestly think he would be perfect at this because it's all about the mentoring, I have my fingers crossed anyway! edit: You're probably right Marguerite, I would like to think he's been asked though, it's not just us that think he would be perfect.

She's done quite a lot of song writing for others for just a little while longer I think, but agree I think it's too soon. However I do infinitely prefer her to any combination of Cheryl/Dannii so I'm reasonably satisfied in that respect. I still think Will might get this, he's absolutely ideal and if you look on the DS threads about The Voice, a lot of people who I don't recognise as 'Will fans' are suggesting him as perfect and would like to see him. :) Btw I'm just watching something on 4Music called 2011's Biggest Singers - Will is at 13 beating Rihanna and Olly Murs at 14 and 15. :D The impact Jealousy has made is just HUGE! It's really popular amongst young people
  5. Two weekends in a row on ITV shows too, after last week's Jonathan Ross performance. Don't think too many people had him down in the 'Guess the X factor performances' either. I wonder if he still would have been given a slot, if he had been able to take up The Voice UK coaching role he turned down because it clashed with the US version? Looks like it's going to be really close between Rihanna and Maroon 5 then. Do we think Matt will be number 1 next week? I'm not too sure, think the X Factor performance will have a massive bearing, it's what killed Leon Jackson's single stone dead. I think it does appeal to the people who voted for him, so if they hammer home the point, it's out now it should have enough universal appeal. I don't see it racing to number 1 by midday on Sunday though, think it will atleast take until the X Factor performance for it to reach number 1 on itunes if it's going to get there at all.
  6. Do you mean isn't that different Aphrodite? Because I have to agree I'm a little puzzled why James considers this to be so different? Many of the songs could easily sit on the last album so I'm a little bemused James thinks it so different, he does seem prouder of it tho and says that in the Virgin set, there's one song he wrote entirely on his own that made the album and how chuffed he was about it. I really like it too but not sure how it differs too much from the previous.
  7. Hopefully the album will still perform well but if Run For Your Life does fail to top the charts you can already hear the stampede of people ready to scream FLOP!!!!!!!!! Most people seem to have already buried his career. I really like the sound of the album, so really hope it does reasonably well for him.
  8. I think it might be a big ask just to shift Rihanna on Itunes let alone the charts! I don't think he'll get there before the X factor performance anyway. I thought that re the Univited performance, loved the beginning but he does tend to get a little too shouty at times I think. Hope he nails the X factor performance.
  9. Yes! though it's incorrectly labelled as being a cover of a Freemasons song on some videos  (which it is but you know it's an Alanis song first and foremost!) There's a few videos of it, this one has quite a lot of shouty fans on but its good quality.
  10. This sounds brilliant. I'm almost certain even though I'm on Virgin, I have this channel because I'm sure it's what the Hard Rock Calling highlights were on, which I recorded for The Killers. Will have to make sure. I just noticed James Morrison has some special intimate half hour set thingy on Virgin and thinking how much I'd love Will to do something similar and this sounds perfect, one to mark in the diary for sure. It's clear how much Jo adores Will so this should be excellent  The discussion element sounds really interesting too. I'm sure Will has a lot of thoughts on the music industry!

  12. Just been watching them, he sure is a talented boy. I love the sound of the album tracks, Starlight is one of my favourites along with Letters. Looking forward to receiving the album. LOVING the ladies singing along loudly to Run For Your Life on one of the videos  It's grown on me, I was massively underwhelmed at first and still think there are much better songs on the album but it's definitely grown on me and I'm looking forward to seeing his X Factor performance. The 'Uninvited' cover is an unexpected treat too. Wow! His vocals! Sublime.
  13. I honestly cannot see this 'big twist' being anything to do with having MORE contestants, like the wildcard theories and the Cheryl/Simon/Uncle Bulgaria/whatever having a special category of axed contestants. Adding 20 to the live shows would just be too much surely and nearly impossible in the timeslot it has. Ditto any theory re JUST bringing back Jade or any other single contestant would be unfair to boost one category to 5? Am I making this up in my head, or did last year's 'BIG! TWIST!' teaser show a mystery silhouette and people were speculating it was Nicole? I think. Surely if it was anything to do with addition, more contestants, more judges (5th judge to avoid deadlock) then they might have use something like that again. I think it's far more likely to do with eliminations myself - Perhaps losing one from each category, or if they wanted to be REALLY harsh, eliminating someone before the show even started but I think that's too cruel. Whatever it is it's sure to be an anti climax, and nowhere near as inventive or interesting as some of the theories mooted! The judges swap thing is quite interesting but can't see that happening, and aren't people just basing that theory on Gary saying he didn't get the category he wanted in an interview some time ago, from what I can make out? Surely he might have just said that at the time to throw people off guessing what category he had or is this a more recent interview?
  14. If anyone has Virgin On Demand service there is a 'James Morrison October Takeover'. About half an hour of an intimate gig, probably an album launch type thing, performs Wont Let You Go, Slave To The Music, Right By Your Side, In My Dreams etc but also You Give Me Something (not about an STD he says to the audience  ) and Nothing Ever Hurt Like You. Also a further 30 minutes of a quite candid and interesting interview, chatting about his father, how the Jessie J duet came about and possible stuff in the works with Ed Sheeran.

Ha I just noticed the first page update and thought they're astonishing sales for You Me At Six, its 13k isn't it, Martin has just made an error? James Morrison's single is holding up very well actually and so is Heart Skips A Beat, it's 59p on Amazon, is it the same on itunes? I will be so annoyed if Rihanna steals the number 1 off Maroon 5, but it looks likely. I like We Found Love, its not her best though, why couldn't she release next week and probably beat her old duet partner to number 1 instead, I reckon this is Maroon 5's last shot at number 1, unless maybe they come perform on X Factor? It's not really likely though is it?
  16. Was looking at some of the pics on IMDB, amused at this photo. It's labelled as Idris Elba. It's surely Akon is it not?! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1202633984/nm0252961

So glad Julianna Margulies got the Emmy though would have liked the amazing Archie Panjabi or Christine Baranski to get supporting actress too but after Julianna's performances this year the Emmy was well deserved. :yahoo: So excited for the season 3 premiere, season 2 ended so perfectly, it really is such a high quality show, took me a while to get into it about 7 or 8 episodes but when I did I got gripped. So many great supporting chracters too like Jackie and Eli. I watched it at UK pace this year on More 4 (Has Channel 4 even shown the second series yet?) but I'm not going to be able to resist watching at US pace this year. :w00t:
  18. I just had to come here and squee a bit because for the past two years I've been making slow progress, catching up with all six seasons of 'Bones' on a friend's recommendation despite unbelievably not giving the show a go even as a Buffy/Angel loon. I'd just like to say I am now FINALLY up to date and Bones has rocketed right onto my favourites list with the rest of the stuff on my signature. Probably just below Supernatural and Dexter. Absolutely LOVE it. Gotta say I thought season 6 was epic, with some amazing stand out episodes. Last night I watched episodes 21, 22 and 23 where my emotions of the episodes went something like this: 21: -Creepy feral looking girl  - abusive 'father' -  - Brennan getting emotionally invested in the case  Brennan and Booth's joint efforts to get the girl reunited with her real parents  Girl reunited with her parents and the bunny       22: - Mr Nigel Murray getting excited about the dinosaur/goofing around with Hodgins  :D Evil sniper guy looking to be possibly targeting any of Sweets/Angela/Hodgins/the Jeffersonian   Evil sniper guy killing Mr Nigel Murray  :snif: B + B sharing a bed together   :yahoo: Booth getting the evil son of a bitch who killed Mr Nigel Murray  :cheer: -The gang saying goodbye to MNM by singing Da Lime and Da Coconut   23: - Wendell is this week's intern :cheer: - 'Wanda' and 'Buck' especially the hairstyles  - Hodgins attempt to be calm when Angela's waters break, - Wendell on the laptop while Angela is in labour  - MAKE YOU FEEL MY LOVE KICKS IN - Angela gives birth, The baby isn't blind   Hodgins announces the baby is called Michael Stercato VINCENT Hodgins to the gang  and then: Brennan tells Booth she is pregnant and it's his baby. Booth grins. There aren't enough emoticons in the world that do this scene justice but this is a good start and mimics my WOO!! SQUEE!! moment I had when watching last night... :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:          But I can't believe I have to wait until November for it to come back and only for 13 episodes. Sooo pleased for Emily though and had a sneaky suspicion they would write her pregnancy into the show, it was still AMAZING when she announced it to Booth and his little face lit up  I heard there was going to be a death near the end, and even though Mr Nigel Murray grated on me at times, I was still really sad he died (Though I'd be lying if I said my first thought wasn't thank god it wasn't Wendell!) his death I suppose was the catalyst for getting Brennan into bed with Booth as it was his death that really affected her so we can always be grateful for that!
  19. Is there a good quality Youtube out there? Didn't want to listen to it with poor quality for a first listen. The Guardian interview got me excited for the album, loving the sound of some of the tracks! I'm surprised Collide has done as well as it has in all honesty!
  20. Ah Spiidey I thought I was the only one who likes Leona but doesn't much like Collide, for me it just goes nowhere but I felt really bad for not liking it. I'm no Leona loon but I really like a lot of her stuff and was so disappointed with Collide so like you I'm hoping the album tracks are a lot better, still looking forward to the album, Echo is on of my most played albums and 'Naked' and 'Alive' are in my top 10 most played songs on my ipod so hoping for good things from album 3
  21. Well the hashtag #LLCollideoutnow has trended most of this evening since Liam Payne tweeted it so there's definitely influence and since then most of the other members have tweeted asking fans to go buy it, even the DS Leona thread thanks the 1D tweets for helping it to top 5, it's definitely given it some boost and more exposure as more people know its out now its been trending on Twitter for ages.
  22. I see those little scamps One Direction have been tweeting their loyal followers to buy Collide. The power of their fanbase never ceases to amaze me, it's given Collide the best free promo it could have had
  23. Seen a few people retweeting on Twitter how a song called 'Collide' would be an unfortunately titled no.1 for next Sunday! Bit crass but it doesn't look like that's going to happen now anyway. I've always thought Collide wasn't instant enough, it just takes forever to get going though it has definitely grown on me, I did wake up with the chorus in my head this morning. Have to say All Fired Up has surprised me, have they done many TV performances of it? I've seen it once on Tonight's The Night, but that was 2, maybe 3 weeks ago. Ideally want Moves Like Jagger to bag no.1 though, have a feeling it's just going to hang around for ages without ever making it.

Heart FM really love Bruno Mars but for some reason they've just decided to play 'Count On Me'

So glad Moves Like Jagger is doing pretty well, would have loved it to go to number 1 but feared it wouldn't even break top 20 which would have been criminal for such an awesome song
