Well as usual the BRITs excel in some downright bizarre nominations. Some notable absentees but due to BRIT rules can be explained Leona from Best Female - No album released in the qualifying period Dizee Rascal from Best Male - No album released in the qualifying period Rihanna from Best International Female - Despite releasing a gazillion singles no new album in the qualifying period But my biggest shocker is no Script! They suffer nomination wise from being Irish because I think they would have been a shoe in for British single and Breakthrough based on sales and airplay if they were English. It's a shame really but there is too much competition particularly from American acts in International categories for them to be noticed, maybe next year but they were my album of the year so bit gutted  Clearly R n B is not flavour of the month with BRITs panel, I never expected Chris Brown AND Ne Yo to be nominated but I thought atleast one would! Absolutely STUNNED to see Scouting for Girls with 3 nominations :o I had them down for Breakthrough but I would NEVER in a million years have guessed them for Best Live Act - seriously?! Why not Oasis or the kaiser chiefs who have both toured? In fact Oasis have been royally snubbed this year haven't they?! :o Also when I think of my favourite songs from 2008, 'Heartbeat' doesn't automatically jump out at me! Pleased to see Girls Aloud finally being treated with respect and have been asked to perform after being so permanently snubbed in the past even when Best Pop Act existed. I would like to see them win Best Single because with all the will in the world I can't see them winning Best Group although I would LOVE to be proved wrong! Oh and a win for Will in Best Male would be nice after SEVEN years in the business and after most so called experts predicted he wouldn't last 6 months B)
  2. I think the panel did snub Leona last year in the industry nominated awards, pardon me but I can't remember exactly what she was nominated for now but I do remember she seemed to be unfairly snubbed particularly for Best Female - Kate Nash was it? That's just the snobbery of the Brits panel who wouldn't dare vote for a reality show winner, unfortunately same reason why Will Young has never won Best British Male. But in categories nominated by the public she definitely stands a chance, I think if 'Run' is nominated if her fans get behind her she will win. It doesn't take much to pick up the phone. Last year she was up against Take That and may well be again but I think 'Run' has even more widespread appeal to get votes from outside her fanbase, ie even Snow Patrol fans who love the cover. GA, Will Young, X Factor winners are usually snubbed for winning industry awards but it is possible for them to win public awards. Will Young HAS won Brits - Best British Single for 'Your Game' and 'Best British Breakthrough Act' Weren't Girls Aloud nominated for Best British Group alongside Coldplay and co last year or was I dreaming?
  3. I was just watching Orange Unsigned Act today and Mcfly were the band the acts were supporting. Anyway Alex Zane introduced Mcfly's performance as 'Mcfly performing their new single' and it was 'The Last Song' :D Is this confirmed anyway? I would be very happy with this choice and think it will get them back on track singles wise  PS I think you mean 2009 ;)
  4. TV magazines for this week have still not corrected the error...my Daily Mail guide clearly says Also.... Radio Times http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?...ls_fullpage.jsp  How very strange...it must have been close to being the second single for information to be released to publications, must have been a last minute change even though 'The Loving Kind' was always the obvious second single I would have thought
  5. I really really want The Killers to be number 1 on Itunes not sure if they will in the actual chart, is the physical out today as well? Was the download released at midnight monday or midnight sunday?
  6. I think I am actually obsessed with Untouchable  I just can't stop playing it, its so immense! Definitely my favourite GA song! Nadine is fantastic on the chorus especially and the 'robots' bit but all the girls sound amazing!
  7. I've just got my album, I don't normally buy Girls Aloud albums but was swayed by Tangled Up because I loved all the singles on it. That album was a bit disappointing, there was only about another two non singles on it that I liked... However, as a whole I LOVE this! Have only listened once but theres a few that have grabbed me instantly, I think my favourites so far are Rolling Back The Rivers..., Untouchable and Love is Pain  I've never bought any of the three previous studio albums (got the greatest hits) but I notice they are all insanely cheap online at the minute about £4 each so which is the best or should I just buy them all?!
  8. I got given the full Radio:Active album as a gift and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by some of the songs on it...not typical Mcfly at all...I was really hoping they might release one of the maturer songs, for example I adore POV, and Down Goes Another One. But no they release the one song that is just gonna reinforce the hate towards them and it sounds like they haven't moved on from Five Colours In Her Hair days, I know its for CIN but it really does them no favours -_- A shame because there are some genuinely quite great songs on Radio Active that might surprise a few people
  9. OMG HOW amazing is this news! :yahoo: I am so THRILLED at the X Factor effect on the album, back in the top 10 and with all those new releases too! Incredible! Agree he needs to get the video out there, it can't be long now though because pictures have surfaced on his website, and Heat and last time Heat had the pictures it wasn't long before we saw it? With no sign of a premiere on 4music or channel 4 in the coming days or weeks it wouldn't surprise me if we get totally caught out and it is added to the music channels this Friday/ weekend with no warning I really can't wait to see it! Good to see Grace charting too, I know album tracks have been allowed to chart for a while but have many? Obviously I know Viva La Vida did but have there been any others chart watchers? ;)
  10. Normally I see a lot of my team there's not exactly competition for tickets! But I think this year I've only seen them 7 out of 12 games. I like to do away games but now we are back in league One we have lost all our local 1 hour/2 hour travel fixtures, they're practically all been Southern away fixtures, miiiiiiiiiles away so far. :( The Mighty table topping Scunthorpe United btw is my team :cheer: This Saturday I will be making my second trip to Walsall in the season so far. Thanks for that inspiring fixture FA Cup draw -_-

MASSIVE Supernatural fan here (as you can see ) I think the quality this season already has far surpassed the previous. They are getting just the right balance between the stand alone episodes that tend to be more light hearted and the storyline heavy dramatic episodes. I have always loved Jensen and Jared of course but i think in general the show comes up trumps with the supporting cast, Bobby is of course a legend but I have been well impressed with the supporting roles this year, the casting of young Mary and John and Mary's dad were inspired and I just LOVE, LOVE Castiel! A great actor, I remember him when he played Alexis Drazen in '24', he obviously looks very different now. The casting of Uriel, with a more ruthless streak than Castiel is a good choice too, I remember him in Prison break. The only one I'm still not convinced about is the new Ruby, though I'm guessing she will have a major role to play soon. Have LOVED the last three episodes!
  12. I am totally loving seeing Grace go up the Itunes chart! :cheer: Really hope it has a positive effect on the album sales this week too. It had a fantastic effect on my boyfriend who went from hating to saying oh that performance was OK. Ok, that does not sound like praise but trust me getting a grudging that was OK is good progress in my book :P I look forward to the 'Grace' effect in the coming weeks

Hmm I'm sure I heard it on the radio yesterday as a Radio 1 'Changing Track' on Sara Coxs show. Wow, imagine if it got played on X Factor! the Hairspray song was on Strictly Come Dancing too. It always amazes me how much impact a TV show has, do people really sit there and think hmm I'd like to download that? Could understand it for old songs like Train or O Town but Chasing Cars?! Surely there isn't a household in the country who doesn't own that song now!
  14. Oooh I guess I'm truly a rare breed then... I'm 22, clearly in Radio 1's demographic and I love Will Young, have done since he won Pop Idol all those years ago and I was 16 then so to say he doesn't appeal to young people is a sweeping statement. I have been to lots of his concerts and even I was truly amazed at the wide spread age of people in the audience, groups of teenagers, young couples in their 20s, it is not a tiny minority, it is much bigger than you'd think -_- Anyway I digress Last night I downloaded Changes but I also downloaded Sex on Fire. I like a huge range of music so what. I'm pleased to see Will doing so well and was equally thrilled to see the unexpected surge of Kings of Leon!
  15. Yeh it does! Bling (Confession of a King) I'm excited about hearing all the new stuff, I'm just getting into the new single, dont want it to be overplayed though, it isnt out for ages. Enterlude and Exitlude though? I wonder if their actual songs or just instrumental Album cover is interesting
  16. OMG SWF! What a thought! I have that mental image permanently in my head now, Will in legwarmers  I know how you feel though this tour is taking entirely too long to reach us *taps feet impatiently* : Still its going to be SO worth the wait! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
  17. Yesterdays news really threw some of my more casual Will friends :o She rang me and said is Will really taking a two year break?! No matter how much she convinces herself that she doesnt really like Will (for creditibilitys sake  ) she quickly went and bought herself some arena tickets I think it could bring the more casual fan back, the thought of not being able to see him on tour for two years spurred her into action

Hmm well the last episode 'Route 666' wasnt as scary as it normally is, phantom truck driver  Still a fab show though and theres some GREAT episodes to come
  19. Now THAT is a great idea! Seriously I would definitely pay for that particularly as on seeing that list I seem to have missed seeing some performances :( You should seriously consider it
  20. Hello! Just joining the Will family :D Was on coolclarity and found it had disappeared and panicked but here we all it seems. I absolutely adore Devoted but its nice to have another little place to discuss Will
  21. My Southern residing mate in uni looked at me in amazment when I said he looked' mardy' once. He had never heard the word before, I thought everybody knew what it meant. Guess not! I'm technically not from Yorkshire I don't know where the saying from. Uni's been quite interesting like that loads of words I commonly use and they havent got a clue what I'm on about ...'snicket' anyone? There must be so many people confused by the song then :D
