"Bliss" becomes her FOURTH number 1 after "Water", "Breathe Me" and "Push 2 Start". The much bigger news for me is that a song from this year's Eurovision Song Contest enters the chart! "Baller" by Abor and Tynna, the German representative, debuts at number 16. The song achieved number 15 at the contest and after that had success in various European countries' singles charts.

Damiano David has already scored 3 number ones as a member of Måneskin - "I Wanna Be Your Slave", "If I Can Dream" and "Honey Are U Coming?". However, "FUNNY little STORIES" isn't a single - this is not just one song. It's actually a video promoting Damiano's album "FUNNY little FEARS"; it includes parts of several songs from the album as well as some spoken parts... Is this becoming an album chart?!...

The question is whether this is her first number 1? I missed the chart of February 18, 2023. For some reason during that period there were 2 editions of the chart broadcast on MTV Hits (which usually is the same as this one) - the chart-toppers in those 2 editions were "Lavender Haze" by Taylor Swift and another song by PinkPantheress - "Boy's A Liar".

"The Giver" by Chappell Roan spends a second consecutive week at the top - something extremely remarkable in recent years! Last year only one song spent 2 (nonconsecutive) weeks at number 1 - "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter. EVERY SINGLE other chart-topper in 2024 enjoyed merely one week at number 1. ...And what was the last song to spend 2 consecutive weeks at the top? "As It Was" by Harry Styles in 2022 - THREE YEARS AGO!

MTV Europe Discussion & European Top 20 Archive
Wow, it's great to see an edition of the chart from 1988! Jamse, you mentioned the "Best Of" edition of the chart in 1993. I see now that I haven't included it in my archives so could you, please, share it here?

What's even more interesting is that if that's true, it would actually equal the record as recently another song with the participation of Bruno Mars also spent ELEVEN weeks at number 2 - "APT." (a duet with Rosé). Both songs have additionally spent a week at the very top of the chart. Until this edition of the chart Chappell Roan had reached a peak position of number 2 - achieved by "Pink Pony Club" just 2 weeks ago. Now "The Giver" becomes her first number 1.

Now she becomes the third member of BLACKPINK to score a number 1 - "Like Jennie" - after Lisa and Rosé. Only Jisoo is yet to top the chart as a solo artist.
