  1. Wonderful! So this chart is broadcast on MTV Hungary as well? In this case, if it happens that I can't watch an edition of the chart, someone who has access to MTV Hungary can watch it so that we don't miss that particular edition! Is it possible to watch MTV Hungary online?
  2. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of February 27, 2021: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 Rita Ora, Imanbek & David Guetta - Big 17 Down 26 Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber - Monster 6 Down 25 Jason Derulo & Adam Levine - Lifestyle 24 Taylor Swift - Willow 6 Down 23 Sabrina Carpenter - Skin 7 Down 22 Billie Eilish & Rosalia - Lo Vas A Olvidar 5 Down 21 Royal Blood - Typhoons 20 Saweetie & Doja Cat - Best Friend 3 Up 19 Ava Max - My Head & My Heart 18 Ofenbach - Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes 3 Down 17 Masked Wolf - Astronaut In The Ocean 16 Ariana Grande - 34+35 7 Down 15 ATB & Topic - Your Love 6 Up 14 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow Stay => 13 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 1 Down 12 Justin Bieber - Anyone 1 Down 11 Cardi B - Up 4 Down 10 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise 2 Down 9 The Kid Laroi - Without You 3 Down 8 Selena Gomez & Rauw Alejandro - Baila Conmigo 5 Up 7 24kGoldn & Iann Dior - Mood 4 Down 6 Doja Cat - Streets 5 DJ Tiesto - The Business Stay => 4 Lil' Tjay & 6LACK - Calling My Phone 3 Olivia Rodrigo - Drivers License 1 Down 2 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears 1 Down 1 Dua Lipa - We're Good 3 Up "My Head & My Heart" by Ava Max appears at number 19. The song is based on "La La La La La" by ATC. I remember when during one of the editions of the chart back in 2000 the chart presenter (VJ Trey) mentioned a song with the lyrics "La La La La La"... I thought that was a sign that it would debut soon... However, it never charted in MTV Europe's European chart... "Your Love" by ATB and Topic is based on the former's "9 P.M." and now reaches the same peak position as that song did in 1999 - number 15. The new number 1 is "We're Good" by Dua Lipa - another baffling chart-topper which, at least for now, hasn't had that much success across Europe to be deserving of the position. Last year was very good for Dua Lipa as she had 3 number ones - "Don't Start Now", "Physical" and "Prisoner" (with Miley Cyrus).
  3. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of February 20, 2021: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 26 Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over The Country Club 25 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 5 Down 24 Zara Larsson - Talk About Love 23 Saweetie & Doja Cat - Best Friend 22 Dua Lipa & Madonna - Levitating 8 Down 21 ATB & Topic - Your Love 20 Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber - Monster 19 Foo Fighters - Waiting On A War 3 Up 18 Taylor Swift - Willow 9 Up 17 Billie Eilish & Rosalia - Lo Vas A Olvidar 16 Sabrina Carpenter - Skin 15 Ofenbach - Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes 14 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow 13 Down 13 Selena Gomez & Rauw Alejandro - Baila Conmigo 12 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 2 Down 11 Justin Bieber - Anyone 5 Down 10 Rita Ora, Imanbek & David Guetta - Big 9 Ariana Grande - 34+35 8 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise 3 Down 7 Cardi B - Up 6 The Kid Laroi - Without You 5 DJ Tiesto - The Business 1 Down 4 Dua Lipa - We're Good 3 24kGoldn & Iann Dior - Mood 12 Up 2 Olivia Rodrigo - Drivers License 1 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears 1 Up IS THIS A NEW BEGINNING? First of all, MTV Europe has changed its schedule. Now the "Euro Top Chart" is broadcast from 9:30 to 11:00 CET on Saturday. However, there also seems to be another change, which is much bigger... This edition of the chart doesn't really look like a direct continuation of last week's edition - it looks like another chart! Until last week, the upper part of this chart was basically the same as MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20". Very rarely were there some extremely small differences... But this week's edition of MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20" looks like a direct continuation of last week's edition - while MTV Europe's "Euro Top Chart" is completely different! Maybe MTV Europe's chart and MTV Italy's chart are separate charts now?... Everything is so different! "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" by Ofenbach spent a few weeks in MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20" in November 2020 but MTV Europe refused to play it - now it appears at number 15. It's great to finally see some songs that are having success around Europe like "Without You" by The Kid Laroi and, especially, "Drivers License" by Olivia Rodrigo - which MTV Europe refused to play until last week, even though it even reached number 1 in MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20"! It was also unbelievable how "Mood" by 24kGoldn and Iann Dior only peaked at number 8 in this chart - when it was so successful that it should have reached the top... Well, now at least it's at number 3! What about the new number 1? As I mentioned last week, a year ago "Blinding Lights" was at the top (and it's still in the chart!!!!!!)... Now The Weeknd is at number 1 again but with another song - "Save Your Tears".
  4. The "corresponding" edition of MTV Europe's "Euro Top Chart" is not corresponding at all - it's completely different! It seems like they are separate charts now...
  5. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of February 13, 2021: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 Taylor Swift - Willow 1 Up 26 BTS - Life Goes On Stay => 25 London Grammar - Lose Your Head 1 Down 24 Fousheé - Deep End 6 Up 23 Tate McRae - You Broke Me First 6 Up 22 Foo Fighters - Waiting On A War 5 Up 21 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 2 Up 20 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 2 Up 19 Little Mix - Sweet Melody 1 Up 18 Jason Derulo - Take You Dancing 1 Up 17 David Guetta & Sia - Let's Love 2 Down 16 JC Stewart - Break My Heart 2 Up 15 24kGoldn & Iann Dior - Mood 2 Up 14 Dua Lipa & Madonna - Levitating Stay => 13 Disciples - I Got You 3 Up 12 Harry Styles - Golden Stay => 11 Joel Corry & MNEK - Head & Heart 1 Down 10 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 1 Up 9 Sam Smith - Diamonds Stay => 8 Purple Disco Machine - Hypnotized 5 Up 7 Jason Derulo & Nuka - Love Not War 1 Up 6 Justin Bieber - Anyone Stay => 5 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise Stay => 4 DJ Tiesto - The Business Stay => 3 Master KG & Nomcebo - Jerusalema Stay => 2 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears 5 Up 1 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow Stay => In the corresponding edition of MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20" the number 1 is "Drivers License" by Olivia Rodrigo. However, MTV Europe didn't play it and pretended that it doesn't exist... A year ago "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd was at the top... and it's still in the chart, even now!!!!
  6. What about last week's chart-topper? "Sweet Melody" by Little Mix falls 19 places to number 20!
  7. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of January 30, 2021: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 Tate McRae - You Broke Me First 6 Down 30 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 12 Down 29 28 Dua Lipa & Angele - Fever 7 Down 27 Foo Fighters - Waiting On A War 26 Fousheé - Deep End 3 Down 25 Taylor Swift - Willow 5 Down 24 BTS - Life Goes On 5 Down 23 22 London Grammar - Lose Your Head 6 Up 21 Jason Derulo - Take You Dancing 6 Down 20 JC Stewart - Break My Heart 19 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 2 Down 18 24kGoldn & Iann Dior - Mood 2 Down 17 Disciples - I Got You 16 David Guetta & Sia - Let's Love 2 Down 15 Dua Lipa & Madonna - Levitating 2 Down 14 Purple Disco Machine - Hypnotized 2 Down 13 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 7 Down 12 Harry Styles - Golden 1 Down 11 Joel Corry & MNEK - Head & Heart 1 Down 10 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 2 Down 9 Jason Derulo & Nuka - Love Not War Stay => 8 Sam Smith - Diamonds 1 Down 7 6 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears 16 Up 5 Justin Bieber - Anyone 1 Down 4 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise 1 Up 3 Master KG & Nomcebo - Jerusalema Stay => 2 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow 1 Down 1 Little Mix - Sweet Melody 1 Up It's really worrying to see songs in this chart although they haven't appeared in any European country's singles chart... "Waiting On A War" by Foo Fighters, "Lose Your Head" by London Grammar, "Break My Heart" by JC Stewart, "I Got You" by Disciples... "Sweet Melody" becomes the second number 1 of Little Mix in MTV Europe's European chart after "Black Magic".

However, last week it had fallen as low as number 30... Now, surely because it topped the UK singles chart, the song goes all the way up to number 2!

It becomes Ed Sheeran's seventh chart-topper after "Sing", "Thinking Out Loud", "Castle On The Hill", "Shape Of You", "Perfect" and "I Don't Care" (with Justin Bieber).

  11. The old MTV European Top 20 chart, which had been broadcast on MTV Europe for more than 20 years, ended in 2012. However, it looks like since January 4, 2014 some European "chart" has started being broadcast again on MTV Europe. The chart is broadcast on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 CET and on Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 CET. Previously the chart seemed to be a Top 40 but in recent years MTV Europe sometimes has also shown positions between number 50 and number 41, indicating a Top 50. However, not all the positions are shown - some of them are skipped each week. The songs that are skipped on this "Euro Top Chart" seem to be one of two cases: either songs that aren't played on MTV Europe in general (especially if they don't have an official video yet); or when an artist has more than one song in the chart, not all are shown. It's also notable that the upper part of this chart is basically the same as the "Euro Top 20" chart that is broadcast on MTV Italy.
  12. No, there were also year-end charts for 2017, 2018 and 2019.
  13. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of January 2, 2021: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 Sam Smith - Diamonds 29 AJ Tracey & Mabel - West Ten 28 Tate McRae - You Broke Me First 27 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 26 Celeste - Stop This Flame 25 Rosalia & Travis Scott - TKN 24 SZA & Justin Timberlake - The Other Side 23 Rita Ora - How To Be Lonely 22 Surfaces - Sunday Best 21 Ava Max - Kings & Queens 20 Roddy Ricch - The Box 19 Powfu & Beabadoobee - Death Bed 18 Topic - Breaking Me 17 Doja Cat - Say So 16 Clean Bandit & Mabel - Tick Tock 15 Marshmello & Halsey - Be Kind 14 BTS - Dynamite 13 Master KG & Nomcebo - Jerusalema 12 Lizzo - Good As Hell 11 David Guetta & Sia - Let's Love 10 BENEE & Gus Dapperton - Supalonely 9 Joel Corry & MNEK - Head & Heart 8 Ed Sheeran & Ella Mai - Put It All On Me 7 Lewis Capaldi - Before You Go 6 Purple Disco Machine - Hypnotized 5 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 4 Lady GaGa & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me 3 Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar 2 Dua Lipa - Break My Heart 1 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights Once again MTV Europe broadcast a special edition of the chart - for the whole year 2020! They didn't broadcast it during the last week of 2020 but during the first week of 2021. This must be the strangest special edition of MTV Europe's European chart EVER. There are many questionable inclusions. "TKN" by Rosalia and Travis Scott and "Be Kind" by Marshmello and Halsey didn't even reach the Top 20 of this chart during the year! However, the most baffling examples are "Sunday Best" by Surfaces and "Put It All On Me" by Ed Sheeran and Ella Mai. Both of these songs HAVEN'T APPEARED IN THE CHART AT ALL (or at least MTV Europe never played them)!?… There are also notable omissions - especially songs that reached number 1. Here are the chart-toppers from 2020 which weren't included in this edition: "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa; "Yummy" by Justin Bieber; "Stupid Love" by Lady GaGa; "Physical" by Dua Lipa; "Roses" by SAINt JHN; "Times Like These" by Live Lounge Allstars; "ily" by Surf Mesa (which spent a total of 4 weeks at the top of the chart); "What's Love Got To Do With It" by Kygo and Tina Turner (which also spent a total of 4 weeks at the top of the chart); "Positions" by Ariana Grande; and "Prisoner" by Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa.
  14. There is a small difference between this edition of the chart and the corresponding edition of MTV Europe's "Euro Top Chart". In the latter, "Take You Dancing" by Jason Derulo is at number 12 while "All You're Dreaming Of" by Liam Gallagher is at number 13.
  15. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of December 26, 2020: 40 39 38 37 36 Paul Woolford & Diplo - Looking For Me 2 Down 35 34 Tate McRae - You Broke Me First 17 Down 33 32 Becky Hill - Forever Young 14 Down 31 BTS - Dynamite 1 Up 30 29 28 27 Ariana Grande - 34+35 4 Up 26 Fousheé - Deep End 25 Kylie Minogue - Magic 3 Up 24 Katy Perry, DJ Tiesto & Aitana - Resilient 23 22 Master KG & Nomcebo - Jerusalema 21 Down 21 20 Dua Lipa & Angele - Fever 4 Down 19 Purple Disco Machine - Hypnotized 4 Down 18 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 6 Down 17 Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber - Monster 3 Up 16 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise 5 Down 15 Little Mix - Sweet Melody 8 Down 14 13 Liam Gallagher - All You're Dreaming Of 12 Jason Derulo - Take You Dancing 11 Up 11 David Guetta & Sia - Let's Love 8 Up 10 Sam Smith - Diamonds 2 Down 9 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 1 Up 8 Jason Derulo & Nuka - Love Not War 1 Up 7 Harry Styles - Golden 19 Up 6 Dua Lipa & Madonna - Levitating Stay => 5 BTS - Life Goes On Stay => 4 Joel Corry & MNEK - Head & Heart Stay => 3 Jess Glynne - This Christmas 2 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 1 Up 1 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 1 Up It's remarkable that none of the old Christmas songs appear in the chart. Instead, a new one is here - "This Christmas" by Jess Glynne at number 3. "Prisoner" by Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa returns to number 1 for a second week there. However, what's more interesting is what happened to last week's chart-topper - "Jerusalema"... It's not even in the Top 20 anymore! It has fallen all the way down to number 22! And "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd might be the most successful song in MTV Europe's European chart EVER. It reached number 1 in February... 10 months later, in the last edition of the chart for the year 2020, "Blinding Lights" is at number 2!?...
  16. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of December 19, 2020: 40 39 Lady GaGa - 911 2 Up 38 Maluma - Hawai 3 Down 37 36 KSI & Craig David - Really Love 3 Down 35 34 Paul Woolford & Diplo - Looking For Me 3 Up 33 32 BTS - Dynamite 1 Down 31 Ariana Grande - 34+35 1 Down 30 Sigala & James Arthur - Lasting Lover 6 Down 29 28 Kylie Minogue - Magic 1 Up 27 26 Harry Styles - Golden 2 Up 25 24 23 Jason Derulo - Take You Dancing 22 21 20 Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber - Monster 19 David Guetta & Sia - Let's Love 11 Down 18 Becky Hill - Forever Young 17 Tate McRae - You Broke Me First 4 Down 16 Dua Lipa & Angele - Fever 1 Up 15 Purple Disco Machine - Hypnotized 1 Up 14 DJ Tiesto - The Business 1 Up 13 12 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 10 Down 11 Meduza & Dermot Kennedy - Paradise 1 Up 10 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 5 Down 9 Jason Derulo & Nuka - Love Not War 1 Up 8 Sam Smith - Diamonds 1 Up 7 Little Mix - Sweet Melody 4 Up 6 Dua Lipa & Madonna - Levitating 5 BTS - Life Goes On 2 Down 4 Joel Corry & MNEK - Head & Heart 2 Up 3 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 15 Up 2 Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa - Prisoner 1 Down 1 Master KG & Nomcebo - Jerusalema 3 Up MTV Europe played "Forever Young" by Becky Hill even though the video was released only several days ago. So they really have no excuse for not playing songs with recently released videos! This year strange things are happening with Dua Lipa's singles. "Levitating" peaked at number 8 at the beginning of September. A month ago her next single, "Fever", debuted in the chart and MTV Europe stopped playing "Levitating". "Fever" still hasn't managed to reach the Top 10... but now "Levitating" appears again at a new peak position - number 6! And what's happening with "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd is just amazing. The song reached number 1 in February. Not only is it still here 10 months later, this week it even jumps back to the Top 3, going 18-3!!!!!!

"Jerusalema" by Master KG and Nomcebo reached number 2 several months ago and has spent all the time since then in the Top 10... yet only now, at the end of November, does it climb to the very top of this chart! It's wonderful to see a song which hasn't really had success in the UK singles chart (its peak position there so far is number 55) but has done extremely well in other European countries become number 1 in MTV Europe's European chart! Until now MTV Europe played the original version of "Jerusalema". In this edition of the chart for the first time they played the remix including Burna Boy. It's also notable that MTV Europe didn't play the official video of "Hawai" by Maluma (currently at number 31) but a live performance. And let's just appreciate the amazing longevity of "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd. It reached number 1 in February and is still here 9 months later. The song just refuses to leave and even rebounds 32-15 this week!
