  1. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of December 7, 2019: 40 39 38 Martin Garrix & Dean Lewis - Used To Love 37 36 Harry Styles - Lights Up 7 Down 35 34 33 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 5 Up 32 31 Rosalia & Ozuna - Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi 3 Down 30 Travis Scott - Highest In The Room Stay => 29 Tom Walker - Better Half Of Me 3 Down 28 Niall Horan - Nice To Meet Ya 3 Down 27 Dan, Shay & Justin Bieber - 10,000 Hours 5 Up 26 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 4 Down 25 24 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 3 Up 23 Ava Max - Torn 2 Down 22 21 20 The Script - The Last Time 6 Down 19 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 1 Up 18 Freya Ridings - Castles 1 Down 17 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 2 Down 16 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love Stay => 15 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 3 Up 14 Lizzo - Good As Hell 7 Down 13 12 Meduza & Becky Hill - Lose Control 3 Down 11 Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello - South Of The Border Stay => 10 9 8 7 Coldplay - Orphans 1 Down 6 5 Post Malone - Circles Stay => 4 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 1 Down 3 Maroon 5 - Memories 1 Down 2 DJ Regard - Ride It 1 Down 1 Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now One artist who has origins from Kosovo replaces another at number 1! Dua Lipa has already had a chart-topper with "One Kiss", her collaboration with Calvin Harris - although, inexplicably, MTV Europe didn't play the song while it was on top! So even though "Don't Start Now" is Dua Lipa's second number 1 in this chart, it's the first one to actually be played while being on top!
  2. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of November 30, 2019: 40 39 38 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 15 Down 37 36 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 10 Down 35 Normani - Motivation 2 Down 34 33 32 Dan, Shay & Justin Bieber - 10,000 Hours 5 Down 31 30 Travis Scott - Highest In The Room 6 Down 29 Harry Styles - Lights Up 28 Rosalia & Ozuna - Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi 27 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 5 Up 26 Tom Walker - Better Half Of Me 2 Up 25 Niall Horan - Nice To Meet Ya 24 23 22 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 3 Up 21 Ava Max - Torn 20 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 1 Down 19 18 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer Stay => 17 Freya Ridings - Castles Stay => 16 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 3 Down 15 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 3 Down 14 The Script - The Last Time 2 Up 13 12 11 Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello - South Of The Border 6 Down 10 9 Meduza & Becky Hill - Lose Control 8 7 Lizzo - Good As Hell 1 Down 6 Coldplay - Orphans 2 Up 5 Post Malone - Circles 2 Up 4 3 Tones And I - Dance Monkey Stay => 2 Maroon 5 - Memories 1 Down 1 DJ Regard - Ride It 1 Up
  3. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of November 23, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 Sam Feldt - Post Malone 10 Down 33 Normani - Motivation 32 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 11 Down 31 30 29 Sam Fender - Will We Talk? 7 Down 28 Tom Walker - Better Half Of Me 27 Dan, Shay & Justin Bieber - 10,000 Hours 8 Down 26 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 8 Down 25 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 9 Down 24 Travis Scott - Highest In The Room 23 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 10 Down 22 Lewis Capaldi - Bruises 5 Down 21 Yves V - We Got That Cool 9 Down 20 19 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 5 Down 18 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 7 Down 17 Freya Ridings - Castles 9 Down 16 The Script - The Last Time 9 Down 15 14 13 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 3 Down 12 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 6 Down 11 10 9 8 Coldplay - Orphans 7 Post Malone - Circles 4 Down 6 Lizzo - Good As Hell 3 Up 5 Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello - South Of The Border Stay => 4 3 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 1 Up 2 DJ Regard - Ride It 1 Down 1 Maroon 5 - Memories 1 Up MTV Europe played "Highest In The Room" by Travis Scott and showed it as number 23; then they played "Writing On The Wall" by French Montana and Post Malone... and also showed it as number 23! Obviously, "Highest In The Room" is supposed to be at number 24. "Memories" becomes Maroon 5's fourth number 1 in MTV Europe's European chart after "She Will Be Loved", "Moves Like Jagger" (with Christina Aguilera) and "Payphone".
  4. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of November 16, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 26 25 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 24 Sam Feldt - Post Malone 23 Benny Blanco & Juice WRLD - Graduation 22 Sam Fender - Will We Talk? 21 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 20 Joel Corry - Sorry 19 Dan, Shay & Justin Bieber - 10,000 Hours 18 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 17 Lewis Capaldi - Bruises 16 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 15 Ed Sheeran & Stormzy - Take Me Back To London 14 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 13 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 12 Yves V - We Got That Cool 11 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 10 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 9 Lizzo - Good As Hell 8 Freya Ridings - Castles 7 The Script - The Last Time 6 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 5 Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello - South Of The Border 4 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 3 Post Malone - Circles 2 Maroon 5 - Memories 1 DJ Regard - Ride It The two songs with the participation of Camila Cabello - "Señorita" and "South Of The Border" - are standing next to each other at number 6 and number 5! Artists who have origins from Kosovo have had chart-toppers in this chart. Dua Lipa reached number 1 with "One Kiss", her collaboration with Calvin Harris - although, inexplicably, MTV Europe didn't play the song while it was on top! Rita Ora has scored three different chart-toppers - "Anywhere", "For You" (with Liam Payne) and "Let You Love Me". However, both of them actually have English(/British?) nationality. With "Ride It", DJ Regard becomes (as far as I understand) the first artist with a Kosovan/Kosovar nationality to have a number 1 in MTV Europe's European chart. By the way, Jay Sean's original version of "Ride It" never reached the chart!
  5. Sadly, MTV Europe didn't play the chart of November 9, 2019. Instead, they repeated the chart of November 2, 2019! But judging by the corresponding (to the missing one) edition of MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20", "Circles" by Post Malone spends a third consecutive week at number 1.
  6. There is a small difference between this edition of the chart and the corresponding edition of MTV Europe's "Euro Top Chart". In the latter, "Outnumbered" by Dermot Kennedy is at number 7 while "The Last Time" by The Script is at number 8.
  7. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of November 2, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 Ed Sheeran & Khalid - Beautiful People 8 Down 32 31 Sam Feldt - Post Malone 10 Down 30 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 18 Down 29 28 27 Miley Cyrus - Slide Away 9 Down 26 25 Yves V - We Got That Cool 2 Down 24 Normani - Motivation 23 22 21 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 5 Down 20 Joel Corry - Sorry 6 Down 19 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 6 Down 18 17 Freya Ridings - Castles 6 Down 16 Ed Sheeran & Stormzy - Take Me Back To London 6 Down 15 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 16 Up 14 13 Maroon 5 - Memories 12 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 5 Down 11 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 9 Down 10 Lizzo - Good As Hell 2 Down 9 Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello - South Of The Border 8 The Script - The Last Time 7 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 2 Up 6 Justin Timberlake - Señorita 5 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 1 Up 4 DJ Regard - Ride It 3 2 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 2 Up 1 Post Malone - Circles Stay => Looking at the song at number 6, you might think that I'm joking... Well, while there is indeed a joke, it's MTV Europe themselves that have made it! They did in fact play "Señorita" by Justin Timberlake at number 6 instead of the song with the same title by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello! Otherwise, "Señorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello is down 3 places from last week. And "Señorita" by Justin Timberlake was in the chart at the end of 2003 (and the first week of 2004). It peaked at number 5.
  8. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of October 26, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 French Montana & Post Malone - Writing On The Wall 30 Avicii & Chris Martin - Heaven 3 Down 29 28 Meduza & Goodboys - Piece Of Your Heart 7 Down 27 26 Lana Del Rey - Doin' Time 25 Ed Sheeran & Khalid - Beautiful People 7 Down 24 23 Yves V - We Got That Cool 8 Up 22 21 Sam Feldt - Post Malone 8 Up 20 19 Sam Fender - Will We Talk? 4 Up 18 Miley Cyrus - Slide Away 1 Up 17 16 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 5 Down 15 14 Joel Corry - Sorry 5 Down 13 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 2 Up 12 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 2 Up 11 Freya Ridings - Castles 2 Up 10 Ed Sheeran & Stormzy - Take Me Back To London 2 Up 9 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 1 Down 8 Lizzo - Good As Hell 1 Down 7 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 1 Down 6 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 4 Up 5 4 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 2 Down 3 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 1 Up 2 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 1 Down 1 Post Malone - Circles 2 Up It was funny to see MTV Europe play the songs by Sam Feldt and Sam Fender one after the other (and they were actually separated by just one position)! What's impressive is the chart performance of "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish. It became number 1 in the chart of May 4, 2019. Since then it has had its ups and downs but is as high as number 6 now, six months later!
  9. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of October 19, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 Normani - Motivation 32 31 Yves V - We Got That Cool 30 29 Sam Feldt - Post Malone 28 27 Avicii & Chris Martin - Heaven 26 25 24 23 Sam Fender - Will We Talk? 8 Up 22 21 Meduza & Goodboys - Piece Of Your Heart 1 Up 20 19 Miley Cyrus - Slide Away 2 Down 18 Ed Sheeran & Khalid - Beautiful People 2 Down 17 Benny Blanco & Juice WRLD - Graduation 3 Up 16 15 Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 8 Down 14 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 1 Up 13 Freya Ridings - Castles 1 Down 12 Ed Sheeran & Stormzy - Take Me Back To London 4 Down 11 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 2 Down 10 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy 4 Down 9 Joel Corry - Sorry 2 Up 8 Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered 2 Up 7 Lizzo - Good As Hell 6 DJ Tiesto & Mabel - God Is A Dancer 20 Up 5 4 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 1 Down 3 Post Malone - Circles 1 Up 2 Tones And I - Dance Monkey 1 Down 1 Kygo & Whitney Houston - Higher Love 1 Up "Higher Love" by Kygo and Whitney Houston returns to number 1 - this is its third (nonconsecutive) week there. "Circles" reaches number 3 and thus becomes Post Malone's highest-peaking song in this chart, improving on the number 4 peak position which "Goodbyes" achieved a couple of months ago. Funnily, at the same time Sam Feldt's song titled "Post Malone" appears in the chart!!!
  10. 13. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of September 21, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 Post Malone - Goodbyes 11 Down 35 Mabel - Mad Love 11 Down 34 33 32 5 Seconds Of Summer - Teeth 31 30 Lizzo - Tempo 3 Down 29 Charli XCX & Christine & The Queens - Gone 4 Up 28 27 26 Jorja Smith - Be Honest 6 Up 25 Avicii & Chris Martin - Heaven 2 Down 24 Beyoncé Knowles - Spirit 3 Down 23 DJ Snake & J Balvin - Loco Contigo 9 Down 22 Ariana Grande & Social House - Boyfriend 9 Down 21 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 Dominic Fike - 3 Nights 8 Down 13 Normani - Motivation 2 Up 12 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? However, before "Heaven" they had played "Be Honest" as number 26 and after "Heaven" they played "Spirit" as number 24. So obviously this was a mistake and "Heaven" is actually supposed to be at number 25. "Señorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello makes history this week. It's back at number 1 for a fifth (nonconsecutive) week - a total accumulated over 5 separate runs at the top! In the history of this chart, only one other song has had 5 separate runs at number 1 - "Alors On Danse" by Stromae achieved it in 2010.
  14. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of September 14, 2019: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved 33 Charli XCX & Christine & The Queens - Gone 1 Down 32 Jorja Smith - Be Honest 31 30 29 28 27 Lizzo - Tempo 4 Down 26 Ellie Goulding & Juice WRLD - Hate Me 2 Down 25 Post Malone - Goodbyes 6 Up 24 Mabel - Mad Love 2 Up 23 Avicii & Chris Martin - Heaven 2 Down 22 Sigala - Wish You Well 2 Down 21 Beyoncé Knowles - Spirit 2 Down 20 19 18 17 16 15 Normani - Motivation 1 Up 14 DJ Snake & J Balvin - Loco Contigo 1 Down 13 Ariana Grande & Social House - Boyfriend 2 Up 12 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? However, before "Gone" they had played "Someone You Loved" as number 34 and after "Gone" they played "Be Honest" as number 32. So obviously this was a mistake and "Gone" is actually supposed to be at number 33. "Higher Love" becomes Kygo's first chart-topper. Previously, his highest-peaking song in this chart had been his first hit, "Firestone", which reached number 2. And then we come to Whitney Houston... She last appeared in MTV Europe's European chart with "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" - her duet with Enrique Iglesias - during the end of 2000 and the very first week of 2001. More than 18 years have passed since then... We have archives for MTV Europe's European chart dating back to September 1989. During this period, Whitney had scored 2 number ones - "I'm Your Baby Tonight" and "I Will Always Love You". "I Will Always Love You" reached the top at the beginning of 1993... Now Whitney is at number 1 again, this time with "Higher Love" - 26 YEARS LATER!!!!!!
  15. Euro Top Chart - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of September 7, 2019: 50 49 48 47 46 JP Cooper & Astrid S - Sing It With Me 45 44 43 42 Kiana Ledé - Bouncin' 41 40 39 38 Katy Perry - Never Really Over 3 Down 37 36 35 34 33 32 Charli XCX & Christine & The Queens - Gone 1 Down 31 Post Malone - Goodbyes 7 Down 30 Jonas Brothers - Only Human 29 28 27 26 Mabel - Mad Love 25 24 Ellie Goulding & Juice WRLD - Hate Me 23 Lizzo - Tempo 6 Up 22 21 Avicii & Chris Martin - Heaven 2 Up 20 Sigala - Wish You Well 2 Down 19 Beyoncé Knowles - Spirit 7 Up 18 17 16 Normani - Motivation 15 Ariana Grande & Social House - Boyfriend 14 Down 14 Joel Corry - Sorry Stay => 13 DJ Snake & J Balvin - Loco Contigo 4 Down 12 Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 7 Down 11 DJ Tiesto, Jonas Blue & Rita Ora - Ritual Stay => 10 Billie Eilish - Bad Guy Stay => 9 Lil' Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road 1 Down 8 7 Ed Sheeran & Khalid - Beautiful People 3 Down 6 Dominic Fike - 3 Nights 6 Up 5 Freya Ridings - Castles 1 Up 4 Meduza & Goodboys - Piece Of Your Heart 3 Up 3 2 1 Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Señorita 1 Up "Señorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello is back at number 1 for a fourth (nonconsecutive) week - a total accumulated over 4 separate runs at the top. Of course, this means that the previous chart-topper - "Boyfriend" by Ariana Grande and Social House - is no longer at the top... But where has it gone? It's fallen 14 places to number 15! Which is evidence that it might not have been a deserving number 1... And once again a song appears in this chart and I wonder why... "Bouncin'" by Kiana Ledé hasn't appeared in the singles chart of any European country... yet somehow it's here!
  16. On the other hand, it's Ariana Grande's third number 1. Her first chart-topper was another collaboration - "Bang Bang", with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj. Now, can you guess - out of all the possible options - which was Ariana's second number 1 in this chart??? ..."God Is A Woman"!!!

It's quite notable that MTV Europe played 3 different songs by Ed Sheeran during this edition of the chart - "I Don't Care", "Antisocial" and "Beautiful People". In previous years MTV Europe seemed to refuse to play more than one song by an artist during one and the same edition of the chart...
  20. However, the story (and question) of the week is one place below. How can "Castles" by Freya Ridings - a song which has only reached number 18 in the UK and number 21 in Ireland - be placed at number 2 in a chart which is supposed to cover ALL of Europe?
  21. It's not that the song is among the least-deserving chart-toppers - it has actually had success across Europe... It's just that it has already spent several months in the chart, climbed as high as number 4, then fell as low as number 10... and now, after so much time, suddenly jumps to the top! That's quite a shock!

Her previous single - "ME!" - also spent a week at the top... however, MTV Europe didn't show that! During that edition of the chart MTV Europe pretended that "ME!" doesn't exist and, as a result, "SOS" by Avicii and Aloe Blacc (which was actually at number 2) was presented as the chart-topper...
  25. IMPORTANT: This week I won't be able to watch the "Euro Top Chart". Would sdizda or someone else be so kind to watch the chart and write it down? MTV Europe broadcasts it 2 times during the week: from 9:00 to 11:00 CET on Friday and from 6:00 to 8:00 CET on Sunday.
