  3. 4. The actual edition of the chart for March 8, 2014 can be found here (the previous week's positions are wrong): http://classifiche.mtv.it/classifica/euro-...t-08-marzo-2014 Also, the new entry at number 10 in the edition for March 15 is not "Addicted To You" by Shakira - that appears to be a song from 2012... MTV Italy have just made a mistake. The "Euro Top Chart", which is broadcast on MTV Europe and uses the same source as MTV Italy's Euro Top 20, showed that the song at number 10 is another "Addicted To You" - by Avicii.
  5. Euro Top 40 - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of March 15, 2014: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 Ellie Goulding - Goodness Gracious 7 Up 29 28 John Newman - Love Me Again 27 26 25 24 One Direction - Story Of My Life 10 Down 23 Ellie Goulding - Burn 22 Imagine Dragons - Demons 3 Up 21 A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera - Say Something 8 Up 20 19 Jason Derulo - Trumpets Stay => 18 17 Avicii & Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! 16 15 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 2 Down 14 Faul, Wad Ad & Pnau - Changes 2 Down 13 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 2 Down 12 Lorde - Royals 11 Sam Smith - Money On My Mind 5 Up 10 Avicii - Addicted To You 12 Up 9 8 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster 2 Down 7 Katy Perry - Dark Horse 1 Up 6 Clean Bandit - Rather Be 1 Up 5 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You Stay => 4 OneRepublic - Counting Stars Stay => 3 Avicii - Hey Brother Stay => 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber Stay => 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Stay => This time MTV Europe played some songs that they didn't play last week ("Royals" by Lorde, "Love Me Again" by John Newman)... They didn't seem to have problems with showing two songs by Ellie Goulding and THREE songs by Avicii!
  6. Euro Top 40 - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of March 8, 2014: 40 39 38 37 Ellie Goulding - Goodness Gracious 36 35 Beyoncé Knowles - XO 34 33 32 31 30 29 A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera - Say Something 28 27 26 Lorde - Team 5 Up 25 Imagine Dragons - Demons 3 Down 24 23 Martin Garrix - Animals 2 Down 22 Avicii - Addicted To You 6 Up 21 20 19 Jason Derulo - Trumpets 1 Up 18 17 Bastille - Of The Night 2 Up 16 Sam Smith - Money On My Mind 8 Up 15 14 One Direction - Story Of My Life Stay => 13 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 1 Down 12 Faul, Wad Ad & Pnau - Changes 4 Up 11 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 2 Up 10 9 8 Katy Perry - Dark Horse 7 Up 7 Clean Bandit - Rather Be 2 Up 6 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster 1 Down 5 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You 1 Up 4 OneRepublic - Counting Stars Stay => 3 Avicii - Hey Brother Stay => 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber Stay => 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Stay => This time MTV Europe showed even lower positions outside the Top 30!
  7. Euro Top 40 - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of March 1, 2014: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball 4 Down 31 Lorde - Team 30 29 28 Avicii - Addicted To You 27 26 25 24 Sam Smith - Money On My Mind 23 John Newman - Love Me Again 1 Down 22 Imagine Dragons - Demons 5 Up 21 Martin Garrix - Animals Stay => 20 Jason Derulo - Trumpets 2 Down 19 Bastille - Of The Night 4 Down 18 17 Ellie Goulding - Burn 6 Down 16 Faul, Wad Ad & Pnau - Changes 15 Katy Perry - Dark Horse 14 One Direction - Story Of My Life 4 Down 13 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 7 Up 12 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 1 Up 11 10 9 Clean Bandit - Rather Be 5 Up 8 7 6 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You Stay => 5 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster 1 Down 4 OneRepublic - Counting Stars 1 Up 3 Avicii - Hey Brother Stay => 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber Stay => 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Stay => As you can see, this time even positions outside the Top 30 were shown! It was also a very nice surprise to see MTV Europe play "Changes" by Faul, Wad Ad and Pnau - I thought that, just like "Jubel" by Klingande, this was a song that MTV Europe wouldn't play, no matter what (although both songs appear in MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20")... So, who knows, someday even "Jubel" might be played in this chart?!... I guess "Wake Me Up!" (supposedly at number 10) wasn't played because 2 other Avicii songs were shown - "Addicted To You" and "Hey Brother". Likewise, "Royals" by Lorde (supposedly at number 7) was skipped because they played "Team"... By the way, I wonder about something - how does "Do What U Want" by Lady GaGa and R. Kelly (supposedly at number 11) even appear in MTV Italy's "Euro Top 20" when it doesn't have a video yet?
  8. Euro Top 40 - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of February 22, 2014: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 Beyoncé Knowles - XO 1 Down 28 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball 12 Down 27 Imagine Dragons - Demons 4 Down 26 25 24 Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La 2 Down 23 Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty 4 Down 22 John Newman - Love Me Again 2 Down 21 Martin Garrix - Animals Stay => 20 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 4 Up 19 18 Jason Derulo - Trumpets 17 16 Katy Perry - Roar 15 Bastille - Of The Night 11 Up 14 Clean Bandit - Rather Be 13 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 2 Down 12 11 Ellie Goulding - Burn 1 Down 10 One Direction - Story Of My Life 4 Up 9 Avicii & Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! 3 Up 8 Lorde - Royals 2 Down 7 6 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You 2 Up 5 OneRepublic - Counting Stars Stay => 4 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster Stay => 3 Avicii - Hey Brother Stay => 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber Stay => 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Stay =>
  9. Euro Top 40 - (as broadcast on MTV Europe) Here is the chart of February 15, 2014: 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home 29 28 Beyoncé Knowles - XO 27 26 Bastille - Of The Night 25 Capital Cities - Safe And Sound 24 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 23 Imagine Dragons - Demons 22 Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La 21 Martin Garrix - Animals 20 John Newman - Love Me Again 19 Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty 18 17 16 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball 15 14 One Direction - Story Of My Life 13 Katy Perry - Unconditionally 12 Avicii & Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! 11 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 10 Ellie Goulding - Burn 9 8 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You 7 6 Lorde - Royals 5 OneRepublic - Counting Stars 4 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster 3 Avicii - Hey Brother 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy While I watched the chart, I thought that "Can't Remember To Forget You" by Shakira and Rihanna was at number 9... but I didn't actually look at its position! Since the Top 20 of this chart is a complete copy of the "Euro Top 20" chart broadcast on MTV Italy and "Can't Remember To Forget You" was at number 8 in the corresponding edition of "Euro Top 20", I consider this to be the song's position in "Euro Top Chart" as well.
  10. The old MTV European Top 20 chart, which had been broadcast on MTV Europe for more than 20 years, ended in 2012. However, it looks like since January 4, 2014 some European "chart" has started being broadcast again on MTV Europe. The chart is broadcast on Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:00 CET and on Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. I was only able to watch it for the first time on February 15. At first I thought the chart was a Top 30 but it turns out that there are even more positions so it may be actually a Top 40! However, not all the positions are shown - some of them are skipped each week. It's also notable that the Top 20 of the chart is a complete copy of the "Euro Top 20" chart that is broadcast on MTV Italy: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=161520 The songs that are skipped on this "Euro Top Chart" seem to be one of two cases: either songs that aren't played on MTV Europe in general; or when an artist has more than one song in the chart, not all are shown. In the next few posts I'll post the first editions of "Euro Top Chart" that I've been able to watch.
  11. Here is the chart of February 22: 30 29 Beyoncé Knowles - XO 1 Down 28 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball 12 Down 27 Imagine Dragons - Demons 4 Down 26 25 24 Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La 2 Down 23 Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty 4 Down 22 John Newman - Love Me Again 2 Down 21 Martin Garrix - Animals Stay => 20 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 4 Up 19 18 Jason Derulo - Trumpets 17 16 Katy Perry - Roar 15 Bastille - Of The Night 11 Up 14 Clean Bandit - Rather Be 13 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 2 Down 12 11 Ellie Goulding - Burn 1 Down 10 One Direction - Story Of My Life 4 Up 9 Avicii & Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! 3 Up 8 Lorde - Royals 2 Down 7 6 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You 2(?) Up 5 OneRepublic - Counting Stars Stay => 4 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster Stay => 3 Avicii - Hey Brother Stay => 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber Stay => 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Stay => Once again the Top 20 of the chart is identical to the "Euro Top 20" on MTV Italy (the edition of February 22) so now I'm basically certain that "Can't Remember To Forget You" by Shakira and Rihanna actually was at number 8 last week. What's curious is that last week they skipped "Roar" by Katy Perry (which supposedly was at number 17) but they played it this week... while they played "Unconditionally" last week but have skipped it this week (it's supposedly at number 19)! I'm not sure why MTV Europe is reluctant to play both Katy Perry songs while they have no problem playing both "Talk Dirty" and "Trumpets" by Jason Derulo... or "Wake Me Up!" and "Hey Brother" by Avicii... Otherwise, they seem to be skipping songs that probably aren't played on MTV Europe at all - like "Jubel" by Klingande. I'm wondering whether future editions of this "Euro Top Chart" should be posted in this topic or a new topic should be created especially for that?
  12. Ben, I think there is only one MTV Europe - and it's exactly the one you're able to watch as when there are advertisements, they show subtitles in Hungarian! tsetsi, you've made a great discovery! I've investigated the situation - there is a Bulgarian website which shows the schedules for various TV channels for EACH DAY. So, according to that website, the first Saturday and Sunday when this "Euro Top Chart" was broadcast were January 11 and 12, 2014. There was no such chart during the first week of 2014 (January 4 and 5), nor during December 2013. So the European chart on MTV Europe was resurrected(?) at the beginning of this year!... Of course, the question is: is this the same chart as before? But before I answer, let me just mention that it's broadcast on Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:00 CET and on Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. I watched the chart on Saturday, February 15 and on Sunday, February 16. And I have to stress that this is not European TOP 20. Here is the chart: 30 Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home 29 28 Beyoncé Knowles - XO 27 26 Bastille - Of The Night 25 Capital Cities - Safe And Sound 24 Zedd & Hayley Williams - Stay The Night 23 Imagine Dragons - Demons 22 Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La 21 Martin Garrix - Animals 20 John Newman - Love Me Again 19 Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty 18 17 16 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball 15 14 One Direction - Story Of My Life 13 Katy Perry - Unconditionally 12 Avicii & Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! 11 Calvin Harris, Alesso & Hurts - Under Control 10 Ellie Goulding - Burn 9 Shakira & Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You 8 7 6 Lorde - Royals 5 OneRepublic - Counting Stars 4 Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster 3 Avicii - Hey Brother 2 Pitbull & Ke$ha - Timber 1 Pharrell Williams - Happy Well, the chart is (at least) a Top 30. And some positions are skipped. While I was watching, I thought that the reason for this was that they were using some other chart and skipping songs they didn't want to broadcast... I'm not quite sure that "Can't Remember To Forget You" by Shakira and Rihanna is at number 9. They were showing each position as a square in the upper left corner of the screen but I have the feeling that I didn't look at the position of "Can't Remember To Forget You" - I was so certain that it was at number 9 because I couldn't imagine MTV Europe skipping a position in the Top 10! And then they immediately played "Royals" by Lorde straight at number 6... After having watched the chart and making some more investigations, I have even more reason to think that "Can't Remember To Forget You" wasn't at number 9: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=161520 MTV Italy is the only MTV that has been showing some kind of "Euro Top 20" chart all this time... And just look at the edition of February 15! The only difference is that "Can't Remember To Forget You" is at number 8... Of course, this raises more and more questions. Has this "Euro Top Chart" on MTV Europe always been the same as the "Euro Top 20" on MTV Italy since the "resurrection" at the beginning of this year? And how come this chart is (at least) a Top 30? Are positions 30-21 again taken from some methodology used by MTV Italy or are they made up by MTV Europe?... It's all extremely interesting and I hope the next edition of the chart will give some answers!
  13. As I have said, I would have accepted ANYTHING - even 20 completely different songs in the chart every week - just to see European Top 20 continue... I really can't understand how someone would want to stop something with more than 20 years of history... Can you imagine someone cancelling the UK singles chart!? On the other hand, it can be said that everything started changing when the regional MTV's started appearing and MTV Europe started being broadcast in less and less countries... Could it even be said that it's MTV EUROPE when only people in a few countries watch it?... So, if MTV Europe isn't actually MTV Europe, then European Top 20 is probably not European Top 20 anymore... In the past the regional MTV's still broadcast the chart but one by one they stopped... And then, of course, we come to the fact that MTV (and what it means to be MTV) has changed... As Nelly Furtado said in one of her European Top 20 number ones: ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END! But I will never forget this chart!...
  14. Here is the latest edition of European Top 20: 20 Alex Clare - Too Close RE-ENTRY 19 Rudimental - Feel The Love RE-ENTRY 18 Conor Maynard - Vegas Girl NEW 17 Simple Plan - Summer Paradise 1 Up 16 Usher - Scream 4 Down 15 Tacabro - Tacata 4 Up 14 Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess Of China 9 Down 13 Pitbull - Back In Time 2 Up 12 Rihanna - Where Have You Been 4 Up 11 Stooshe - Black Heart Stay => 10 Florence & The Machine - Spectrum 4 Up 9 Gusttavo Lima - Balada Stay => 8 Katy Perry - Wide Awake Stay => 7 Train - Drive By Stay => 6 Will.I.Am & Eva Simons - This Is Love 7 Up 5 Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know 1 Up 4 Fun. - We Are Young Stay => 3 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe Stay => 2 Flo Rida - Whistle Stay => 1 Maroon 5 - Payphone Stay => It's basically a mix of these two editions of djcharly's Euro Singles Hot 100: http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles244.htm and http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles245.htm
  15. djcharly's Euro Singles Hot 100: http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles243.htm This time "Balada" is allowed in the Top 10 of European Top 20! But, strangely, "Black Heart" is still not allowed...
  16. Well, Markus told me that the person was from Greece and had some more incomplete information - but I expect it won't be a lot... We'll see!
  17. Amazing news! A person has sent Markus Tolksdorf some charts from July and August of 1991! You can check here: http://ki.informatik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~topsi/mtv1991/ Unfortunately, some information is missing but we should never give up! It's always possible that someone who has more archives that we're missing will inform Markus...
  18. Well, yes, as I have always said, it's a great recognition for djcharly... But to me it's very sad that the chart of the biggest music channel in Europe is just a copy of another chart. I prefer a little less "representative" but original chart... And, in the end, no chart is perfect. For example, I don't think Stooshe's "Black Heart" is among Europe's biggest 20 singles right now...
  19. Let's compare to djcharly's Euro Singles Hot 100: http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles242.htm The only difference is that MTV Europe doesn't allow Gusttavo Lima and Stooshe in the Top 10...
  20. It's all subjective. Apart from Precision Tunes, I honestly don't see what was so wrong with that edition. The most successful songs in Europe were still in the chart, just in a different order.
  21. And once again the chart is a copy of djcharly's Euro Singles Hot 100: http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles241.htm The 2 differences are that "Black Heart" by Stooshe is missing from MTV European Top 20 and that "Balada" by Gusttavo Lima is actually at number 7 in djcharly's chart. I have no idea why MTV Europe don't allow "Balada" in the Top 10 anymore when the song debuted at number 10 in European Top 20!?... And I do prefer last week's edition (except Precision Tunes) because at least it was original...
  22. Well, the two charts currently share the same number 1!
  23. Here is the latest edition of European Top 20: 20 Nicki Minaj - Starships 4 Down 19 Gusttavo Lima - Balada 8 Down 18 Pitbull - Back In Time 1 Down 17 Tacabro - Tacata 1 Up 16 Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know 9 Down 15 DJ Fresh & Dizzee Rascal - The Power RE-ENTRY 14 Alex Clare - Too Close 1 Down 13 Train - Drive By 7 Down 12 Maroon 5 - Payphone 7 Down 11 Precision Tunes - Payphone NEW 10 Rihanna - Where Have You Been Stay => 9 Usher - Scream 5 Up 8 Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band - Sing NEW 7 Loreen - Euphoria 3 Down 6 Rudimental - Feel The Love 6 Up 5 Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess Of China 3 Up 4 Fun. - We Are Young 1 Down 3 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 2 Down 2 Cheryl Cole - Call My Name 7 Up 1 Flo Rida - Whistle 1 Up I don't think the chart is that absurd apart from the debut of Precision Tunes... This must be the only song in the history of MTV European Top 20 that not only doesn't have an official video but it doesn't even have a live performance! MTV Europe would never be able to play it... It's even more remarkable that Precision Tunes are one place above the Maroon 5 original! It's incredible to see the two versions of "Payphone" next to each other... I don't believe such a situation will ever happen again in the chart... Otherwise, I'm actually quite happy with this edition of European Top 20 - it's certainly not a copy of any other chart!
  24. This time we have a total copy of djcharly's Euro Singles Hot 100: http://www.charly1300.com/eurosingles/eurosingles239.htm At least it's nice that "Euphoria" by Loreen is at number 4! Has anyone by any chance been able to watch the chart on MTV Europe? I'd like to know if they played the live performance from Eurovision!
  25. bobiloko posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
    Timbaland is singing the chorus - you can check some live performances in Youtube. But live his sound in the chorus is more similar to the sound in the verse.
