i didn't think the Tron soundtrack was all that tbh, then again I haven't seen the film so don't know it in context. Reznor is getting in with some great soundtrack work too, his Social Network soundtrack is great, and if the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer is anything to go by it's going to be great too. would love to hear Aphex Twin giving a soundtrack a shot.

Leeds/Reading: 2011
what James says. I actually know them. they are nothing like what they make out they are, that isn't even the music they want to make, basically they are a product of Geffen records. they make out they are from working class backgrounds which is a massive lie, infact one of them grew up in a massive house in a posh area, they aren't even from Slough just one of them sort of lives near there. the drummer Frank is pretty safe though to be fair, and is a great drummer. it's not sudden hate though really, everyone thought they were $h!t to start with it's only the saps who take NME seriously who actually enjoy the fairly bad music.

1994
loads of great albums from 94, including 2 of my favourite ever albums (Downward Spiral - NIN, Blue album - Weezer).

Leeds/Reading: 2011
me and my mate are gonna get to the barrier for them at Reading and shout Kill the Arcade the whole time. and the best thing is loads of people who know them will turn up and know about all the lies around Brother and maybe also chant for kill the arcade. would be funny. might be spending way more time in the FR stage this year, i think i've seen one band every year i've been in there. possibly none in 08 (cant remember), it's a bit random though, like Rival Schools playing on FR stage :s whatever.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES V - RESULTS
that sounds good for me! it's been a decent wait this time, which imo means better entries. that and we have had CD Swap so it hasn't mattered that we haven't started a new one. i look forward to it though, now to pick out of like 4 songs i've wanted to enter.

The Inbetweeners
i love that line from Jay at the end, but they recycled it from a series 2 episode. which by coincidence i watched last night.

So, the BBFC....
to be fair if they don't ban something that features someone raping a human centipede with barbed wire around their dick they might aswell cease to exsist. do they still have the power to stop films being watched in the internet age? of course not but that doesn't mean they should stop doing their job. maybe they should create a new certificate "only for the sick and twisted"?

BJ CD SWAP #2 / review your cd here!
obviously, this was mine: 1. Hello Atomic - Hllbck Grrl (Missed It Shoot Again Mix) random mashup I have of Gwen Stefaini - Hollaback Girl and Refused - New Noise. 2. Losers (feat Riz MC & Envy) - Flush I think Riz MC is from London, sounds like so anyway, Losers is a collaboration between former Cooper Temple Clause man turned DJ Tom Bellamy and Xfm DJ Eddy Temple-Morris. 3. Atari Teenage Riot - Revolution Action possibly one of my favourite tracks ever, from one of my favourite bands, absolute classic. 4. Crass - Systematic Death my favourite track by Crass, great band. 5. Minutemen - Corona shame you didn't like this too much, I find Minutemen mix some really interesting musical styles into hardcore punk. lot's of people would recognise parts of this track which became the Jackass theme tune. 6. Fugazi - Waiting Room glad you love this track, but then again who doesn't? one of my favourite ever punk tracks, which says alot. 7. Box Car Racer - Letters To God not quite blink-182, but a side project of Tom Delonge from blink, I think it's a great track but it's not for everyone, especially his voice, but overall the Box Car Racer album was inspired by bands such as Fugazi which is why i felt it a good follow on from Fugazi. 8. The Xcerts - Slackerpop One of my favourite bands at the momment, although not 90's punk, infact this is a track off an album released last year, although they are very much inspired by 90's alt rock, Nirvana being a massive influence. 9. Japandroids - I Quit Girls I guess his voice isn't great, not something i've focused on much listening to Japandroids, but I just love their noisy lo-fi tracks. 10. Matthew C H Tong - Present and Correct Definatly works well as a follow up to the former track, when it comes to lo-fi/noise, what may surprise you is this is actually a solo track from the drummer of Bloc Party! 11. The Death Set - It's Another Day This is taken from one of my favourite albums so far this year, been addicted to this band since I discovered them, so much energy, and if you listen to more tracks, rather original (you can hear influence from electronic, punk and hip hop on the album). Glad you enjoyed the track. 12. Modwheelmood - Problem Me quite like this band, formed by a great musician called Alessandro Cortini, who was once a member of the NIN live band. 13. How To Destroy Angels - A Drowning How could you dismiss a Trent project? :drama: that said upon first listen of this I didn't think too much, but now I think it's a incredible track. Good to see I made you reassess the project anyway. Also her name is Mariqueen. 14. ClayPigeon - This Aint War featuring a great beatboxer by the name of Reeps One, I really enjoy this track, taken from an album the band sort of pressured me into buying. 15. Mouthwash - That Girl London based ska band, I think their pretty good and provided a decent warm up for Streetlight Manifesto at their London show last year, consided entering this into Unknown Pleasures once. 16. The Skints - Bright Girl Shame you weren't keen on this one, been near enough obsessed with this band recently, infact saw them for the third time so far this year on Sunday, i'd go as far to say they are the best British band around at the momment. 17. Captain Accident - Twenty Pence I haven't heard too much from this guy, from Wales, saw him live once though, pretty chilled out ska, heard him described as a reggae Frank Turner. 18. Willy Mason - So Long was very much into this guy years back (like 2004-2006), really loved his first album which this is taken from, gets me slightly nostalgic too, defincatly my favourite modern folk musician. 19. Plumtree - Scott Pilgrim 90's alt rock female fronted band, this track inspired the comic book series (now turned film) Scott Pilgrim, which is how I discovered the track, been meaning to check out more stuff by them as this is a great track. 20. Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution - Here's To Life real shame you didn't like this, I think it's incredible, such wide instrumentation, such great lyrics, such great structure, works even better when you have the intro too (it's taken from an EP which has a seperate intro track that flows straight to this song), the whole EP is brilliant. This is also a band of Tomas (God) Kalnoky, who also formed the incredible band that is Streetlight Manifesto, and you can hear a reworked version of this track on the first Streetlight album. Glad you got my CD and that you appreciated a decent amount of it, I feel you probaly enjoyed it more than you would had enjoyed many of the CD's, you obviously don't share my love of ska punk, but I wanted a mix of many genres, and as I listen to alot of ska, felt it fair to let it take up a fair few tracks.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
here's the green band trailer, in proper quality: NhZxZ-Gauk4 i think it does look great, getting excited for it now, i can't wait to get my hands on a full length version of Trent's Immigrant Song though, sounds so good.
-
Simple Plan 'Get Your Heart On!'
Oh Rivers  does this band seriously have any fans above the age of 12?
-
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

BJ CD SWAP #2 / review your cd here!
this was given tagged so i'll guess i'll keep the song titles in. 'bj playlist' 1. Ian Brown - Time Is My Everything I've never been too keen on Ian Brown's solo stuff, but this works a good opener for the album, with it's horn intro. the rest of the track is a mixture of slow vocals, and drum machine sounding drumming (might not be from a drum machine though), borderline sounds like an electronic song. the lyrics are pretty good too. 7/10 2. ATB - Ecstacy I actually have an album from this act already, although not generally my sort of thing. A trance track, which I have slight hidden taste for, but I'm not very keen on the female vocals on this track, they aren't badly performed, but i'd enjoy the track much more instrumentally. It's definatly nothing special as a trance track, pretty average. 6/10 3. David Bowie - Kooks Obviously I already know this one, lovely acoustic Bowie track, shame about the $h!te band that named themselves after it. 7.5/10 4. Barbarellas - Night Mode This is a pretty dreadful female pop song with a pretty dreadful bad synth backing with pretty dreadful lyrics. 4/10 5. (the only fully untagged track). this is probaly my favourite so far, forgien language indie act, slightly sigur ros-ish, some good music to it. 7/10 6. Chromeo - Needy Girl This continues the trend of going indie-electronic-indie-electonic of this CD. This again is pretty $h!t, terrible bass, just electronic with lack of thought, horrifyingly bad syntheised voice chrous. Random turntable section which makes me cringe, wasn't quite mix master mike. 2/10 7. Joanna Newsom - The Sprout and The Bean I always fail to get into Joanna Newsom, basically, I really hate her voice, but I like her harp playing, this has a really nice intro, and is genrally a nice track all the way through, but her voice ruins it. 7/10 8. Girl's Generation - Run Devil Run Another crap female vocal song with crap synth backing. where do you find this crap? 2/10 9. The Beatles - Something Obviously a great track, thank f*** The Beatles was next, after the former abomination of a track. 8/10 10. DJ Johnny Beast - Euphoria To be honest, considering this guy's name is "DJ Johnny Beast" I was anticipating this to be awful, but it's an alrightish track, at least for the first minute, then it goes downhill. very synth driven dance track, not great but listenable. 6/10 11. Bjork - Who Is It (Vitalic remix) Just the fact this is Bjork makes me think this is JakeWild's CD. I quite like Bjork but rarely listen to her, so i'm not familiar with what the track normally sounds like, I guess this is a pretty decent remix, I'm finding it enjoyable anyway 7/10 12. Kate Bush - Moving Kate Bush isn't bad, but like Joanna Newsom, I can't really get into her, not keen on her vocal performances, although I respect the fact she has a very unconventional singing style. As for this track, it's pretty good but it's not Hounds of Love. 6.5/10 13. Jamie T - Ike and Tina Best track on the whole CD, I really love Jamie T, havent heard this song in a long time either, clever lyrics, feel good sounds, explosive opening, just brilliant start to finsh. 8/10 14. Oh Land - White Nights This track is alright, female pop but not bad, good vocal performance, and a nice backing. 7/10 15. Moby - Raining Again I've always been here and there with Moby, I quite enjoy this track though, good tempo and beat, and i find the vocals fit in very well, he has better, but this pretty good. 7/10 16. Ruby Goe - Beat Breaking Boy back to bad music with unimaginative use of synth, with lack of intelligence in the music in terrible, vocals and lyrics are $h!t, infact the whole track is just crap start to finish, couldn't wait for it to end 2/10 17. Siobhan Donaghy - Goldfish Fairly average but not bad female vocal track, not megaly mainstream, listenable, although does downgrade itself at the chorus, the femal vocal performance is decent. 6.8/10 18. Skrillex - Kill Everybody This is an alright pretty uncommercial electro track, it's far from great but a welcome addition to my ears, somewhere between Pendulum's 1st and 2nd album. 7/10 19. Sky Ferreira - Haters Anonymous the first 30 seconds of this was alright, then it started sampling a guy saying 'whatever', and basically just became terrible, the chrous is alright and fairly catchy, the lyrics are pretty $h!t though. electro sound throughout. 5/10 20. Red - Breathe Into Me $h!te metal/hard rock song straight out of Kerrap magazine. 5.5/10 21. Ben Taylor Band - Time of the Season cover of 'Time of the Season' by The Zombies, doesn't keep some of the same genius notes that the Zombies use, has a sort of weird background noises, it's alright though but not a patch on the original. 7/10

was hearing alot about them from punk crowds a few years ago, now all of a sudden they seem to be getting somewhere, a few bands im into are really banging on about them too, had a listen to 'Music Is Dead' recently, now really want to check out the album.
