  1. UP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BJKO tirren should move for us not the other way round.
  2. that's pretty much how I feel, so stoked. they should be headlining tbh.
  3. this album is going to be incredible i know it. that advert was great.
  4. yeah the atmosphere in the tents is faaaaaaar better than main stage, especially in the lock up tent. main stage is great for the big bands though, no doubt The Offspring and Pulp will be great fun, just like the atmosphere was for Weezer, libertines and blink last year.
  5. From what i've read, that was pretty much dumbing down for audiences, (bloody hollywood etc), but the directors cut doesnt have it. I agree it shouldnt have been there, takes away the mystery element.
  6. to be honest, very dissapointed so far, he has gone far too commercial taking out what was interesting in him as an artist and making pop songs instead. i guess The Magic Position was fairly pop, but i don't know, what i've heard so far is just like he isnt really putting any effort in musically.
  7. As bad as GnR are, you can't really use that as an arguement when MCR are in their spot this time, as bad as GnR are at the same time as headlining Reading they had sold out many arena shows in the UK the same year, where as MCR didnt even sell out one of their arena dates when people didnt know they would be at Reading either. last year had a massive comeback from blink-182 aswell as a massive comeback from The Libertines, both only doing Reading that year, no other dates, as well as having the first Weezer show since 2005, aswell as having massive hits from Pendulum, Arcade Fire, Bad Religion, and a very good line up outside headliners (NoFX, Cypress Hill, QOTSA, etc) being strong every day. where as this year we have Muse who practically everyone has seen, yes they are amazing but hardly a special booking considering the amount of oppotunity to see them in the last 2 years, MCR who can't sell an arena tour, and a massive amount of filler during the whole festival, no where near as strong as the daytime last year, last year we had blink-182 and the libertines exclusivly, this year we have no one anywhere near as capable as pulling in the crowds they pulled, which is evident as the fact the festival normally sells out within about 3 hours but this year, still on sale now.
  8. woah, definatly not. it's an alright line up but last year was one of the best I have seen in my 5 years of going, infact i'd say last year was an actual Reading line up, like how it used to be before they started indiefying the festival an uneeded amount.
  9. still good though, i stand by the opinion 'We Are The Dead' is their best track ever, their debut is hard to beat. after a few listens i was really into this album actually.
  10. f*** yes for fringe.
  11. voted. sadly only got a chance to listen to them all once. i felt the quality was mega mediocre. but my top 5 fairly strong, if i got a chance to listen to a few tracks more i'd probaly <3 them lots.
  12. Also i'm not sure i'm going to bother with a April edition of this due to lack of participation, the interest for this seems to be there but the amount of interest doesnt match the amount of participation. i may try a change of tactics, i'll discuss it in the main thread at a different time.
  13. I thought this film was very good. Amazing mood created throughout the film with the use of expressive lighting and a surreal set, along with a soundtrack and slight jittering camera all adding a creepy element to the film. The film was a great mashup of film noir and sci fi giving no definitive genre. I felt the acting was fairly wooden, but that didn't ruin the film at all, and alot of the times the fact the characters had no real memories etc the woodeness added to it, so maybe it's wooden on purpose. The city is what really made the film interesting imo, and reminded me a bit of Sin City (which the film also reminded me of in the filmaking style). I loved the lack of colour aswell, which also helped add to the mood aswell as the way we are meant to view Dark City (in a sort of 1984 everything is grey way). I felt the film was badly paced in places, seemed far too fast paced to start with, but then started feeling like the right pace in the middle. The final fight was a bit crap, basically watching a bit of blue lightening for a few minutes, wasnt very entertaining to watch. 7.5/10 sorry that this was all a bit bulletpointy.
  14. $h!t is today the deadline?
  15. I read alot as a child anyway, maybe not 50 a year, that's alot, but i always took advantage of the library, where as new generations of kids won't be able to do so, so probaly wont read as much as I did.
  16. woah woah woah, friday mainstage had Deftones and The Offspring IN A ROW, gonna be the best two bands in a row the whole weekend.
  17. oh i know right, i saw that just after Reading got annouced last night, was very f*** YEAH. i can just imagine the atmosphere for them at Reading now aswell, i still feel silly for missing out on tickets to them at London Forum.
  18. Death From Above is gonna be mental. infact i'm definatly not dissapointed in the line up, but i think mainly i just don't care as i'm going to Glastonbury this year and it will $h!t all over Reading.
  19. Weekend tickets are still not sold out! first time i've ever seen them still on sale after 3 hours. i think a mixture of price and line up is making Reading much weaker than usual.
  20. they just did a hometown show was fairly mental. although the singer (i forget his name, James?) asked some of my friends where he could get some illegal substances. naughty naughty. but yeah, f***ing good live.
  21. http://media.livenation.co.uk/reading/KSfBAHk1/ZHCb0MZr/DPvc32fo/alcmEP4y/poster_launch_2011.jpg OFFSPRING, DEATH FROM ABOVE, DEFTONES, JANES ADDICTION, HENRY ROLLINS <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 i think it's good yeah, i was expecting worse (every other year seems weaker, 2008 amazing, 2009 average, 2010 amazing etc), but lots of great bands there.
  22. NEW ALBUM OUT THIS YEAR. FIRST SINGLE 'BLOOD IN MY EYES' can be heard here: http://www.atari-teenage-riot.com/ abit about the track: it's pretty good but not as good as last year's Activate. Can't wait to see them again this May, saw them last year and it was one of the most intense live shows I have ever seen. (also this may fit better in electronic but I feel there fans arent generally electronic fans so fits better here).
  23. I'm not entirely convinced it's real, lots of strange placings, like BMTH above NFG, and the fact they have even annouced that much line up, and Madness is a bit WTF. however, I would be fairly pleased if it was real, THE OFFSPRING :D magical photoshop job if it is fake.
  24. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a1/Welcome_home_armageddon.jpg 1. "This Side of Brightness" 2. "Old Hymns" 3. "Front Row Seats to the End of the World" 4. "Sixteen" 5. "Aftertaste" 6. "Spinning Over the Island" 7. "Man Alive" 8. "Owls (Are Watching)" 9. "Damned If You Do, Dead If You Don't" 10. "Medicated" 11. "Broken Foundation" 12. "Welcome Home Armageddon" so this just came out, been getting a lot of good reviews, i've only given it one listen so havent fully taken it in, but based on reviews, i'd say this is their best since Casually Dressed. A return to heavier songs, but not quite a return to Casually.
