Severin's 10 Favourite Films Of 2010
brilliant brilliant film, didnt realise it was this year otherwise it would have made my top 10 easily, i may just be getting mixed up because i saw it before it came out at a private screening with a Q+A with the director. going to have to revisit the film sometime soon.

Buzzjack Film Club | January 2011 | Pick the film.
OK i'm gonna leave it open until approximately 11am tomorrow, as we might have had some people who voted but hadnt shown interest in the inital thread, and i'll PM everyone who did who hasnt replied to this topic so they dont miss out on voting if they hadnt. so basically, i'll open the discussion thread for the winning film tomorrow.

Buzzjack Film Club | January 2011 | Pick the film.
I might close this earlier than originally planned, as theres 13 people who i consider are part of this from expressing interest in the last thread, and we have 11 votes already, so i might say once the poll gets to 13 votes i'll keep it open a day after that (unless we get to saturday), maybe longer if it's at a draw.

Severin's Most Played Artists of 2010
06 MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE 332 for shame. how can you have such terrible music at 6 when NIN are at 30.

'Catfish'
Just watched it. Not sure whether I thought it was good or not, or if i believe it or not. I sort of want to believe it but very coincidental that a film they started making thats unlikely to be very interesting would turn into that. I can sort of understand why Angela did what she did as well, she obviously deals with a lot in her life, and we all need some escapism in our lives. The fact is that it is very plausible. The fact that i've met people I know from this website as well, one of which I speak to on an almost daily basis on msn, and have on facebook, etc, it would be possible that he could have faked who he was, but then again it's not like Nev was in danger when he met her, just that he had been lied to for 9 months. Still interesting.

Films 2011
EXACTLY. i'm not much of a fan of Ryan Reynolds either. Deadpool comics are so brilliant though.

Films 2011
tbh i think they f***ed x men a bit, everything i hear about First Class just makes me say "f*** no", i can't even bring myself to watch Wolverine due to all the injustices I already know, they have full on wrecked Deadpool for a start.

Do you mean First Class? or is this another Origins in the same vein as Wolverine, I know there was plans for a Magneto origin film.

Buzzjack Film Club | January 2011 | Pick the film.
Vote in the poll which of the following films you would most like to watch and discuss this month for the Buzzjack film club. I shall close this MONDAY JAN 3RD 11AMish). For more info on Buzzjack Film Club go here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=123079 Amélie (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2001) suggested by: Jester genre: romantic comedy Rotten Tomatoes: 90% IMDB: 8.6/10 Synopsis: Impish gamine Amélie (Audrey Tautou) lives alone and works in a café. When she finds a trove of toys hidden for 40 years behind a baseboard in her apartment, she's inspired to repatriate the items, an impulse of generosity that sparks more benevolent acts. A celebration of life, Amélie reminds us of the small wonders that abound around us ... if only we paused to look. (should note that this film is in French but there is a English subtitled version). zj0CK_jgNns Dancer In The Dark (Lars von Trier, 2000) suggested by: JakeWild genre: musical/drama Rotten Tomatoes: 67% IMDB: 7.8/10 Metacritic: 61/100 Synopsis: Selma has emigrated with her son from Central Europe to America. The year is 1964. Selma works day and night to save her son from the same disease she suffers from, a disease that inevitably will make her blind. But Selma has the energy to live because of her secret! She loves musicals. When life feels tough she can pretend that she is in the wonderful world of musicals...just for a short moment. All happiness life is not able to give her she finds there... I6Oc3Oe_LpQ Frailty (Bill Paxton, 2002) suggested by: Severin genre: psychological thriller Rotten Tomatoes: 74% IMDB: 7.3/10 Synopsis: Fenton Meeks, comes forth to tell the FBI that his brother Adam may be the serial killer who calls himself God's Hands, who the FBI has been searching for. The film uses flashbacks to show Meeks' childhood with a father who believed he was on a mission from God to destroy demons that inhabit human bodies. Fenton saw his dad as evil, while Adam saw him as a hero. JKFi3owPUmg Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi, 2007) suggested by: Chris. genre: drama/animation Rotten Tomatoes: 96% IMDB: 8/10 Metacritic: 90/100 Synopsis: Marjane is precocious and outspoken young Iranian girl who was nine years old during the Islamic Revolution when the fundamentalists first take power--forcing the veil on women and imprisoning thousands. She cleverly outsmarts the "social guardians" and discovers punk, ABBA and Iron Maiden, while living with the terror of government persecution and the Iran/Iraq war. Then Marjane's journey moves on to Austria where, as a teenager, her parents send her to school in fear for her safety and, she has to combat being equated with the religious fundamentalism and extremism she fled her country to escape. Marjane eventually gains acceptance in Europe, but finds herself alone and horribly homesick, and returns to Iran to be with her family, although it means putting on the veil and living in a tyrannical society. After a difficult period of adjustment, she enters art school and marries, continuing to speak out against the hypocrisy she witnesses. At age 24, she realizes that while she is deeply Iranian, she cannot live in Iran. She then makes the heartbreaking decision to leave her homeland for France, optimistic about her future, shaped indelibly by her past. (should note that this is a French film but there is an English dubbed version). 3PXHeKuBzPY

Chris' Top 10 Films of 2010.
i really don;t see how Scott Pilgrim could be improved, you definatly couldnt improve the acting or style or sets and the script was amazing as well, maybe a bit of it was slightly rushed, like the first few fights had quite a bit of a break inbetween where as the last few went near enough straight into each other, but seeing as it's a film that's limited by about 2 hours I'd see no other way, i'd love it if it had all the extra stuff the comics had that wasnt in the films, or have the actual Twins fight (completely changed in the film), but that just wouldnt be possible, it would be great if it was maybe a 6 hour TV series, but no way would that get the same budget and would lack the film. So the only thing that could be improved would not be a realistic improvement.

Films 2011
I wouldnt expect it to be Shaun if the Dead type quailty mate, it's not directed or written by Edgar Wright (like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz both are), so it's not like a follow up of any kind. Hopefully Edgar and Simon will start working on the final film of the cornetto trilogy soon. oh and Transformers 3, LOL.

Chris' Top 10 Films of 2010.
I would have thought you would have seen Iron Man 2 :o if you liked the first one you'll like this one. infact I only watched it for the first time the other day, I was really excited during the hype up for it, but was far too busy at the time to see it.
