Chris' Top 10 Films of 2010.
1. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Edgar Wright is a God. He did good to my favourite comics ever. Possibly my favourite film ever, let alone this year. And it came out on blu-ray on Monday and looks too amazing. 2. Toy Story 3 Been waiting about 10 years for this, Toy Story is one of my favourite films ever, after watching this I felt like after 18 years I have finally completed childhood. 3. Inception Damn you Christopher Nolan and your talent of f***ing with my mind and making excellent films. 4. Kick Ass Do I really need to say? I thought the comics were much better though. 5. The Social Network David Fincher + Trent Reznor. A match made in heaven. That is all. 6. Iron Man 2 I enjoyed this naturally but felt it was maybe a bit rushed, they could have worked on the pacing. 7. Shutter Island Underwhelmed for a Scorese flick but still good. 8. Exit Through The Gift Shop Banksy making a film, yes please. 9. Cop Out Kevin Smith is my favourite director, or at least joint favourite with Edgar Wright and Spike Jonze. This was another great flick but would maybe be better if Smith wrote it, probaly his best non-view askewiverse film. I wouldnt say it was anything special though, which despite Kevin being one of my favourite directors it is this low. 10. Monsters Decent indie flick I saw in the cinema a few weeks ago, amazing for the budget and amount of people who worked on it.

1. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - The Social Network OST http://losslessalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Trent-Reznor-and-Atticus-Ross-The-Social-Network.jpg Incredible piece of music that creates a perfect and dark tone for the film, helping David Fincher create the fantastic mood that the film has. The score is perfectly composed and well performed, this is one of the greatest pieces of music Reznor has put together, and is certainly his best work outside of NIN. Highlight tracks: 'Hand Covers Bruise' 9SBNCYkSceU 'On We March' -y_SROshvUM 'In Motion' Yczul_609Gg 'In the Hall of The Mountain King' TPZtigbbkz4 'Pieces Form The Whole' EKlKl_xn9H8

Buzzjack Film Club - Join Up/Discussion thread
We still have room for one more suggestion. The voting thread will be open tomorrow. I'm gonna make this a "discussion/join up" thread, by discussion I mean discussion the film club, basically just a thread to inform people on what it is to gain more interest. by Join up, it's not a nessarcary thing, you don't have to "join up" to take part, and if you have "joined up" you're under no commitment to take part every month (that said one film a month isnt exactly time consuming). Basically I just want to make it advertising for more people to take part.

The King Blues · 'Headbutt' & Album: 'Punk & Poetry'
I dont think they are sell outs because they have successful music (let's face it they havent even been that successful anyway) They are sell outs because: -They signed to Universal (if were going with the core meaning of selling out, signing to a major label is what is considered the sell out move seeing as it's a move to make more money by creating the music the label tell you to make, not the music you want to make) As Fruitbag said about after Save The Girl was released: "Making music that was original and inspiring wasn’t a priority anymore. We had made music that would sell, make money and get played on the radio. Our beliefs about equality and peace became publicity stunts. Anything about the bands character that we thought could sell, we sold." And with furthur talking about the third album writing Fruitbag talks about how nothing was good enough for Itch (basically itch being a complete twat) as Itch and management saw there was money to be made so the music had to be something that would sell, they were seeing Business over art, and how that isnt a sell out mentality I don't know. And then when Fruitbag was sick, Itch started giving him abusive phone calls and threats and saying he should be out of the contract, and then had a go at him for doing 3 days work for a friend when he should be "working" for the king blues, despite him needing that 3 days money to actually pay rent. Itch is only in it for the money highlighted by his push for commercial music and f***ing over his bandmates. So tell me, why the f*** should I continue to support a musician who does not want to make interesting music, just commercial music, a musician who also completly f***ed over his bandmates. It's clear all Itch wants is fame and money and that is not they way I think music should be made. source referred to: http://www.hitthefloor.co.uk/genres/rock/f...the-king-blues/

well the great thing about films is that they are subjective and everyone has their own individual response to a film, that and it's a good thing if you have the different view to most people, would be boring if everyone just had the same view. i'm glad theres a decent amount of enthusiasm in this thread, i'm hoping this is gonna work well.

3. Streetlight Manifesto - 99 Songs of Revolution: volume 1 http://blog.sajakrocks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/99SongsOfRevolution.jpg genre: ska punk This was a long long long time coming, with the first time the project being mentioned being in an EP sleeve in 2001, the first volume finally emerges 9 years later, with it's first release date being 2008. That's just how much bandleader Tomas Kalnoky is a perfectionist I guess. An album full of covers, all done brilliantly and in a style different to the original, the band really make the songs their own. And I couldnt get enough of their cover of Linoleum. Such a talented and fantastic band. ok as we have 9 people up for this already, i'm gonna start this like right now. in this thread as to not to spam up the film forum. first of all, like I mentioned before, no sign up thread, if you want to suggest a film suggest one, if you want to vote for which suggestion be the film vote, if you want to watch and discuss the film watch and discuss the film. SO, If you would like to suggest a film, send me a PM, I would like 3-5 films for the poll, so once I have 4 PM's (as i'll be suggesting a film myself), i'll say so, which is why you should suggest asap. Then on January 1st I shall create a poll of the suggested films with trailers, syponisis' etc, and then have the poll last for one week in which watching and discussion on the winning film can start. I'm setting no rules for what can be suggested but just don't suggest anything too obvious, it donest have to be majorly obscure just so long as it's something most people havent seen (i.e don't vote big blockbusters that everyones seen).

4. Toh Kay and Dan Potthast - You By Me: Vol 1 http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8I9EgmPbbiI/TOrPHY3yDkI/AAAAAAAAECM/KlHPZCQNw-o/s1600/folder.jpg This is Tomas Kalnoky (Toh Kay) performing songs written by Dan Potthast acoustically and Dan Potthast performing songs written by Tomas Kalnoky acoustically. Kalnoky is possibly my favourite songwriter ever and a performer I love so it was a treat to hear some of his songs done in a much different style and it was great to hear his interpetation of Dan Potthast songs. Highlight tracks: 'Downtown' (performed by Toh Kay, written by Dan Potthast) CDYJ2WPFASE 'We Will Fall Together' (performed by Dan Potthast written by Toh Kay) K_tbCAohTo0 'I've Set Sail' (performed by Toh Kay, Written by Dan Potthast) ydLfyrDi2iQ

5. The Futureheads - The Chaos http://ruthsmanuvas.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/the-chaos.jpg genre: post-punk revival As Rabbitfurcoat said in his countdown it says a lot when an album this good is a band's 3rd best album out of four. They will never top their self titled debut for me, and This Is Not The World just has too many superb pop songs, this was perhaps a slightly darker and heavier album (emphasis on slightly). The most creative band of the 2005 era of post-punk revival indie, it's a shame they get as little recognition as they do. Oh and as for timings, I think a week would definatly has to little time. I think 2 weeks could work well (one week to choose and watch, another week to discuss). A month would probaly be best as gives most time for suggestions, then picking which of the suggestions, then plenty of time to watch the film and discuss it.

i'm not sure whether reviews shall be enforced or not, as long as there is somewhat intelligent discussion going, obviously if people did reviews that would help get discussion going, just like people say what they thought, what they liked, what they didnt like, if they liked the film and why they liked or disliked it, and then people can respond to this if they agree or disagree with this person or not and why the agree or disagree. basically as long as it's not like "i liked tuh muvie" or "i agree wid dis", then I don't see there being an issue. As long as people contribute to discussion.

BUZZJACK FILM CLUB Welcome to the Buzzjack film club, every month we shall be picking and then discussing a film, there is no join up required but feel free to let us know you will be joining us, to take part all you need to do is simply, watch the film, but you can also vote for what film we watch and even suggest a film. There isnt any boundaries for films to be chosen, but the film must not be the same genre or by the same director as the film from the previous month (to prevent us from discussing a similar film to the one we just discussed), and also will not be one suggested by the person who suggested the one from the previous month. As a fair few responses appear to be people wanting to discover films they would not want otherwise, we aim to verge away from major hollywood productions that everyone's seen before (Harry Potter, Avatar etc), but i'm not putting in a specific rule as there can be great discussions to be had about some big films, if anything unless they are mindless Michael Bay films or something new enough that it's already going to be discussed in the forum then it won't be an issue. It works like this: -Step one, towards the end of each month I will ask for film suggestions via PM (but I am only accepting up to 5 suggestions overall) -Step two, i shall create a poll in the forum where you can vote for which of the suggestions you would most like to watch and discuss, this shall last a week -Step three, i shall create a discussion thread for the month where we shall discuss that month's film. Film club members: (people who have replied to this topic/other film club topics, now and again i might PM people on this list reminders to vote or what not, but i'll try not to often, if you want on/off this list just give me a shout) Chris. Regina Flowers Severin JakeWild Silas Lukuzz Matt Aloud Brett-Butler Posioned Kisses ヽ(´ー`)ノ Daniel II *trouble* Frank! Past films: ratings are average rating of what people rated the film when we discussed it. January 2011: Amélie (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2001) 7.61/10

Which was the last DVD you watched?
yep but it's from Marvel Studio's so it was in Marvel's own hands, best thing about that studio is that they won't f*** up the story or characters.

'Catfish'
I might still download it, but there's that whole 'dont let people tell you what it's about' $h!t, and on Film 2010 they were saying that, so i'm guessing theres meant to be a bit that you don't see coming, which i'm guessing is that she is mentally ill? which tbh would be a $h!t twist. I'll reserve judgement until i've actually seen it.

oooo, good pull, only artist I have heard of is Iamwhoami (but havent heard the track), i think I may have seen one or two bands mentioned but wouldnt be able to tell you more about them, a real unknown to me contest this time, theres always been a few tracks before i've known.
