  1. If you're stuck for time you could always postpone the results until tomorrow.
  2. Your big advantage is with those who don't listen to full songs. I think anyone who insists on listening to every song in full will start docking marks every 30 seconds from 3 minutes onwards. The last two or so minutes is absolutely meaningless and detracts hugely.
  3. Not a slight on the Cilmi at all. I think Pixie's Mama Do is a deliberate attempt to replicate Gabrielle C's success with Sweet About Me but it fails as the song is utterly pedestrian.
  4. Mama Do is sub-Gabriella Cimli dross. She's got a great voice but it's a dud of a lead single.
  5. The Jody song is 2 and a half minutes too long. Kills it for me.

  7. Inner Massivia have now voted, and a bit more promptly than we did in the semi-final. The voting panel, chaired by guest juror Stevie Wonder, met in the Chart Club in the Alt Markt, Attacktonia tonight for a lively listening party that lasted four hours. The Inner Massivia Press Association News (IMPAN) reported Stevie as saying: "The Inner Massivia jurors thoroughly enjoyed the selection of songs put forward this contest. There were less duffers than usual, fewer cheap entries, and a refreshingly broad range of musical styles to judge compared to the overly biased finals of the last two months which seemed flooded with hard to diffirentiate sub-Eurodiscopop. Our votes have been transmitted to the BJSC XV headquarters in Quotosibb using encrypted satellite. A full compliment of guests, including our entrant the fragrant Little Boots, the President of Inner Massivia Professor Sir Quintas de Cancellara, myself and all the other jurors will be flying in on Saturday in preparation for Sunday's Final."
  8. Yes.
  9. Inner Massivia has only just qualified for the first time.

I assume you're loving the album Martin? Listened to it yesterday and it's extremely interesting musically, but her voice is so affected it wa like nails on a blackboard for me.

Don't think the Liverpool song will get that high - most of the sales will be from the club's online store and shops in the city and I doubt they're chart eligible.
  12. Thought it would be a good idea to start making Spotify playlists of the available songs in each final/semi. First up, BJSC XV - 14 of the 29 songs in the final are available on Spotify - here's the playlist: http://open.spotify.com/user/6weeksatnumbe...ab0BxTf1xo7nrJO People's Republic of Jester: Passion Pit - Sleepyhead Cadbury: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll Fortunia: Stacie Orrico - So Simple Nonsuch: Natasha Bedingfield - Again Scherzland: A.R. Rahman & Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) Lorikeet: The Saturdays - Work Inner Massivia: Little Boots - Mathematics New Rivermaya: Lady GaGa - LoveGame Kopečka: Erik Hassle - Hurtful Mdiče: Röyksopp ft. Robyn - The Girl and the Robot United States of Russiatron: Ladyhawke - Back Of The Van Utopia: Los Campesinos! - Ways To Make It Through The Wall FSR Rontvia: Emiliana Torrini - Jungle Drum Rivandia: Chew Lips - Solo Feel free to post your own playlists - maybe your personal best ofs from previous winners, competitions or from your own entries etc. I'll try and get the monthly playlists set up as soon as we know the songs in the semis and final. Availability will vary clearly and some songs will still have to be listened to via YouTube etc but hopefully this will be a good alternative for entrants in BJSC to familiarise themselves with some of the songs ahead of voting.
  13. Wahey! First qualification. Thanks Aaron and the people of Quotosibb. Little Boots is doing a celebratory jig in the main square of Attacktonia.
  14. Inner Massivia Herald Tribune Last night one of the worst electrical storms in the history of our country hit Attacktonia just as voting was underway for semi-final 1 of BJSC XV in the Chart Club in the Alt Markt. A total power failure for 16 hours occurred and the jurors, including guest chairman Stevie Wonder, were forced to cancel their deliberations until this afternoon. The Inner Massivia Press Association News (IMPAN) reported Stevie as saying: "The Inner Massivia jurors were superstitious when the lights went out and thought the writing was on the wall as the storm continued. Eventually we were evacuated, and for once in my life I was glad to be esconsed in a chain hotel on the outskirts of Attacktonia as the torrential rain and lightning bolts continued all around. We were uptight, but we were reassured by the staff that everything was going to be alright. On recommencing our voting today we were delighted to find many unanticipated gems in Semi-Final 1. The final should be an absolute corker in Quotosibb." After voting was finished and the results transmitted by satellite to Quotosibb, Little Boots took the stage in the Chart Club for a performance of her entry in BJSC XV, Mathematics: oSHd2h_bPKI

  16. I think the Robyn/Royskopp song is less than the sum of its parts. It should be brilliant but just doesn't stack together and gets a bit aimless. It's not a patch in any of Robyn's recent singles.
  17. Country: Inner Massivia Artist: Little Boots Song: Mathematics Youtube Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSHd2h_bPKI oSHd2h_bPKI
  18. :yahoo: :w00t: :cheer: You're an absolute star Nonsuch! In future I'll try to make the final so I won't be making rash selections ahead of time in the despair of getting knocked out in the semi! Inner Massivia reserve Little Boots.
  19. BJSC XIV Awards Most independent voter: Nonsuch (didn't vote for any of the top nine) Most likely to hide in the flock: FSR Rontvia (voted for just one of the bottom twelve)
  20. After BJSC XIV (March 8th-9th) and four contests, Inner Massivia's voting record in finals is as follows: Torchwood 17 (3 appearances; highest pts 8) Angelicland 15 (2; 10) Quotosibb 14 (2; 7) Herzebania 12 (2; 10) Utopia 12 Eledan 12 Kingdom of Shadow 12 Dalisska 12 Ojnoj 10 Botanikka 10 Nonsuch 9 (2; 5) Kathaldazia 9 (2; 8) FSR Rontvia 9 (2; 7) Ashton 8 Lorikeet 8 Cadbury 7 Hendinia 6 (2; 4) Juranabaijan 6 Bhangra 6 Kylienips 6 BaNG 5 Mdiče 5 Tapatilandia 4 FNR Tinnmark 4 Sangria 3 FSR Farahtyn 3 MKL 3 Rivandia 2 Kopečka 1 Simondly 1 JRK-off 1 Stats 31 different countries have received votes out of a theoretical maximum of 40. 4 countries have received 12 pts, all in their only appearance in the IM top 10 (Utopia, Eledan, Kingdom Of Shadow, Dalisska) 12 different countries have filled a top 3 position out of a theoretical maximum possible of 12. 8 countries have been voted for at least twice, with Torchwood the only country to receive votes three times.
  21. Oh noooooooooooooooo!!! I'd already announced Little Boots - Mathematics in three different threads after getting knocked out of the semi-final  We beseach the wonderful Nonsuch to give up said artist for a poor never-qualified for the final country. Much Inner Massivian love would be coming your way for such a generous act.
  22. Still can't see any appeal to Velvet or Uh Huh Her.
  23. Been following on my mobile - brilliant contest tonight!
  24. Am I the only one to realise I've just wasted an hour and a half to find out the results aren't finished till tomorrow? That *really* should have been made clearer.
  25. Inner Massivians are texting in to the live coverage on IMTV perplexed at the strong showing of Velvet. "Generic 90s Euro-pap" is the latest message to scroll across the bottom of the screen.
