Physical release for takin back my love?
The cd single release has indeed been cancelled in the UK and even the Sarah Connor version in Germany has only had a soft release. The general lack of pushing the song on radio is also bothersome. At this point I don't blame Ciara's people for pulling her out of promotion for the song and distancing her from it.

Taking back My Love with Sarah Connor
Having the Sarah Connor version of the song on the cd single would be an extra incentive to buy the single but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Interestingly there's going to be yet another version for France with a singer called Tyssem. Ironicaly even without a video the Ciara version of the song has already become a success in France. Another interesting bit of info for those that thought "Takin' Back My Love" should have been the lead single over "Away". Here's an exerpt from a Spanish interview.... So "Taking Back my Love" almost didn't make it onto the album at all. How telling it is of Enrique's people to make something like "Away" as the lead single and yet something like "Takin' Back my Love" almost ends up on the cutting room floor.

Taking back My Love with Sarah Connor
That does seem to be the common consensus among fans, of course it was never going to happen. Enrique's people love to play it safe and stick with the familiar and obsessed with ballads. That's why not only was "Away" chosen to be on the album but as the first single with a very hero-esque video no less. Another reason may be that it may be too difficult to work promotion around Ciara's schedule, why would she drop working on her own album to help promote Enrique's? With Sean Garrett it's whole different story and he gets a nice boost to profile in the process. I'm not really sure that "Away" has had much of an impact on the sales of the Greatest Hits. He couldn't have asked for better promotion in the UK with him appearing on Strictly, Paul O'Grady that Here Comes the Boys concert etc. The selling point for the album so far has been the past hits rather than the new songs hence why for a lot of that tv promo he sang old songs rather than "Away" and it's not like the song has gotten a lot of radio play beyond Capital in London or video play on the channels. I can definitely see "Takin Back my Love" doing better as a single and could potentialy give the album a but of longevity as it would a normal studio album.

Taking back My Love with Sarah Connor
According to her people they're releasing a new version of "Taking Back my Love" in Europe with German singer Sarah Connor. I'm betting however that Europe means Germany and the surrounding countries that she normaly releases in.

TOBS & TBML Live
Thought you might be interested in these performances from Star Academy in France. Both are duet with two contestants from the show. The first is "Tired of Being Sorry" with Alice and the second is "Taking Back My Love" with Gaultier. Interestingly a guy was chosen for the second song. Gaultier is also clearly not used to performing in English and doesn't sound good on the song at all, apparently he was voted off later after this. Also it's quite funny at the beginning Enrique seemingly forgets the lyrics but other than that his part of the performance is quite good. Tired of Being Sorry Takin' Back my Love

Info on new single "Away" and the other new song
Almost everything Enrique has been doing since the second Insomniac single has been on the fly. Just before he started the US tour there was only minor talk of an English Greatest Hits but then someone from his label latched on to the idea to not only release one but get it out as soon as possible. He literaly finished his US tour and had less than a month to get it and everything he would have to in do to get it out done before it came out. I guess in the UK they could promote the album straight away but they know that if they want the single to do well then it needs time to build. It's not the kind of track were without radio play or even having a video out he could do a few tv performances and say "hey, it's out next week" and have it do well.

New song "Miss You" with Nadiya
It's on the French Edition of the Greatest Hits and actualy isn't a new version of the song on Insomniac but rather a new song with the same title. It's actualy another Ringside cover recorded as duet that and Enrique even sings in French in parts. Miss You link hGSOj-MPOzU

Listen to "Away"
I like both songs enough but do think "Takin' Back My Love" is the better of the two. That being said I can't see either track making an impact Stateside to be honest. I'd love to be wrong though.

Listen to "Away"
There's a 90 second preview of the song on his Myspace player but if you want to hear the whole song they posted the whole song on his imeem channel last night here

English Greatest Hits in November/December
Apparently coming out in most places on November 4th, a few different sources including amazon have back that up. Play.com has a tracklist, though I would take it with a pinch of salt as it has "Hero" on twice as well as remix of "Not In Love" rather than regular version... 1. Bailamos (Wild Wild West/Soundtrack Version) 2. Away 3. Hero 4. Be With You 5. Takin' Back My Love 6. Rhythm Divine 7. Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song) 8. Tired Of Being Sorry 9. Escape 10. Could I Have This Kiss Forever 11. Not In Love Radio Mix (Dave Aude Vocal Edit featuring Kelis) 12. Don't Turn Off The Lights 13. Love To See You Cry 14. Maybe 15. Addicted 16. Somebody's Me 17. Can You Hear Me 18. Hero Bit boring but it's reasonable. Pretty much what you'd expect them to include. Basicaly it's a collection of international singles.

Push Videos
Yeah I love the way he performs it live too. Unfortunately at his current US concerts he seems to only be performing it at a few shows which makes sense I suppose seeing as most the audience likely wouldn't know the song. Incidently it's been said that the video was actualy filmed for the Step Up 2 version which featured Enrique solo, that's definitely the version that they were going to release as a single so I guess that would explain why Lil Wayne isn't actualy in the video. Since MTV refused to air the video on their main channel and whoever was in charge of the soundtrack got pissy about releasing the song it seems Enrique's people decided to edit it, taking out clips from the movie which were in previews of the video and used the audio of the Insomniac version. *sigh thinking back on this "Push" was such a wasted opportunity. As was the whole Insomniac album really.

Enrique to release "Miss You" as a duet with Nadiya
It's been said in the French media for a while now that Enrique would record another duet with Nadiya for her album which is going to have collaborations with other mainstream singers. A few sources are saying that the song is going to a re-recorded version of "Miss You" from Insomniac. http://www.evous.fr/musique/Miss-You-Enriq...adiya,5019.html

Enrique is going to record Pussycat Doll's "Away"
Fernando Garibay that's worked with Enrique on a few things in the past has worked on two tracks in the Pussycat Doll's new album "Bottle Pop" and "Away" though only one has made it on there. He wants Enrique to record the latter. I just googled his website and it's apparently true that he's worked on a track called "Away" for Enrique. He does list Enrique's record label wrong on this track as he's put Jive/Zomba but all the others he's worked on for Enrique are correct. Either it's a mistake on his part or it could be that it's not for the forthcoming Greatest Hits but for a soundtrack or something. If you remember a website that confirmed the release of "Push" also listed the label wrong which confused people until we found out it was being released from the Step Up 2 soundtrack.

English Greatest Hits in November/December
Enrique does seem to suffer from the syndrome that despite a lot of his English singles charting well enough to refer to them as "hits" only a handful have really blasted through and become memorable. Not to mention that aswell as songs that he only released in certain countries and not others there songs that have been major hits in some parts of the world but not in others. In the UK specificaly the songs from his first English didn't exactly register whereas in the US they met with a lot more success. Nevertheless after four English albums it's probably as good a time as any to release one and there are certainly much worse offenders of acts releasing Hits collections without actualy having that many hits. If he sticks to his singles that have generaly charted well he'll have enough material with a minimum of padding. He is going to have two new tracks on the album. Hopefully you'll like them both. He does seem to be a lot more upbeat talking about the Greatest Hits collection particularly in comparison to 95/08 which he openly admitted to being coerced into releasing. Knowing how much Enrique covets his mainstream career it could be he feels confident about coming up with good tracks to keep in the mainstream spotlight. That's just my personal feeling though. There's a rumour that he's working with the producer Redone on one of the tracks. If it's true and it makes the album then I think we can expect some stronger beats to what he usualy comes up with.

Enrique & Aventura performance
As I'm sure you know Enrique will be touring parts of the US with Aventura soon and so at last nights Premios Juventud (the latin version of the Teen Choice Awards) they joined him onstage to sing "Lloro Por Ti". The performance is mostly Enrique on his own near the end it breaks into a Bachata Version. Lloro Por Ti ft Aventura link u4FlDh5lmXg

English Greatest Hits in November/December
Enrique called Johnhay & Rich again today were he said he was writing songs for an English Greatest Hits. He'd mentioned it flippantly a few weeks ago but it sounded like one of his typical jokes but turns out it's actualy happening. Click to listen

Enrique in Australia...
Both "Do You Know?" and Insomniac were released in Australia but according to fans down under it was hardly promoted so thus never made an impression on their charts. Pity as you said Escape was huge there it was also one of the few countries that Seven was successful in and his concerts for that tour sold out really quick. I found this interview for Australian tv for Insomniac from this time last year link Australia is however getting "Can You Hear Me?" on the radio and the album is getting a digital re-release. I'm not sure how their charts work, if the include downloads. If they do then we may see him on Australian charts afterall.

"Can You Hear Me" Video
Definitely no US release. Back when the song first leaked Polydor told some UK fans that it wasn't going to be released there, can't really see that changing. Pity as I think the song could be a hit in the UK and it wouldn't be a stretch to think it could give the album a slight sales boost, they wouldn't really need to re-release either.

Clip of new song "Can You Hear Me?"
The third UK and EU single was "Somebody's Me". It was supposed to get a physical release on December 10th but then got changed to be just a digital release. The situation with "Push" is frustrating as there is no official word on what happened with it so all we know is from off the record sources. Suffice to say whatever reason(s) the Step Up 2 people for had for seemingly changing their minds on it being a single in the US would naturaly impact whether it was released internationaly. Not that a UK release was ever officialy on the cards either, it was only ever supposed to be a US release. The song has been getting play and charting in some smaller countries were Enrique is popular. Enrique's people are apparently going to release the single under their own steam in France as the fourth French single after "Can You Hear Me?"
