Off topic from the single, but Ed Sheeran has confirmed via his new book that he has written a song with James for McBusted!
  2. Turns out the music video for 1D's Steal My Girl wont be out until the 24th October.
  3. I think Nick Grimshaw later hinted that Harry had been dared to say it.
  4. The 1D track has its video out on Sunday - featuring Danny DeVito. Should gain it some much needed hype and publicity (however I'm still not a big fan of the track - like I said before the song they gave away for free was better). EDIT: Probably worth noting the speculation that the song has been blacklisted from several big radio stations in the US due to their team refusing interviews during the tour. One of them tweeted a dig at Capital as well yesterday (didn't they fall out over them thanking Radio 1 instead of them at the BRITs a couple of years ago?)

The only bits I don't like are the "like this!" sections and and the guitar solo that follows them, as well as the beat that starts the song. Really like the verses/ choruses otherwise.
  6. The McBusted track is about to be premièred on VEVO via a lyric video. Expect a boost for the pre-order.
  7. They've done no promo for it but the video comes out on the weekend which will give it the boost it needs for release week I guess. Not a fan of it myself, the free track "Fireproof" was much better.
  8. I can see radio picking it up personally, and its hard to compare this release to the last McFly one. For a start this release has a major record label's backing compared to McFly releasing their tracks through their own one. Plus this track literally has so much hype. Yeah, the last McFly one was caught up in the hype of McBusted forming and had a strange McBusted version on sale, but this will be publicised very well, I think. Also worth noting that they have a lot of friends and fans in the industry willing to help to promote both the single and the album too, which I'm sure will help. This album has been penned with people like Mark Hoppus from Blink 182 (who has already tweeted his followers asking them to purchase Air Guitar), Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low, the Madden Brothers etc. etc. Plus looking back at who were tweeting about McBusted last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see the One Direction & 5 Seconds of Summer lads tweeting about the single, too, which would be huge promo (and particularly useful with the 5SOS market, given the sound). Even Ed Sheeran tweeted his excitement about them last year, so who knows. Will be interesting to see the impact the VEVO lyric video debut will have tonight at 8pm. They've been trending since the single was announced yesterday, too. Interesting that the single will be available to pre-order worldwide too from tomorrow. Guessing they're going to attempt a "10 years too late" Busted jump across the pond at some point. EDIT: Plus we are talking about a band that at the last count in June, had the 29th highest grossing tour worldwide this year, selling 320,000+ tickets. & that was before the Hyde Park gig. All of those tickets were in the UK & Ireland only.
  9. McBusted's pre-order up to #14 now! :yahoo:
  10. Not exactly a shock, is it?!
  11. After having them for over 10 years that would be an awkward split! I can't see it happening unless they really balls up the McBusted reunion - which is doubtful so far!
  12. I really love Hurts so I'm glad in a way that they've made it to the top, but awkwardly I don't like the Calvin track at all...
  13. I think McFly just pretty much confirmed the album HAS been stalled/ cancelled in that interview. McBusted has well and truly taken over.
  14. Have to admit I much prefer the live versions of Love Is on the Radio. It sounded absolutely gorgeous at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this year.
  15. I was a bit slow finding Roar - absolutely love it now though.
  16. DFWYB was also produced by McFly, which is great!
  17. I remember McFly saying that the aim was to write a track which would be great in a stadium - you can tell that this will be one of the highlights. Best on the album in my opinion, but perhaps I'm biased!
  18. Don't like this at all :/
  19. I have both of Lily Allen's previous albums...but not a fan of this.
  20. Yep, that is how I remember it. Although the reason it charted at #23 first was that it was download only until the following week. Of course physical sales were still strong for them back then. They were 7 copies behind the Pussycat Dolls at #3 too!!
  21. McFly - Lies went from #23 to #4 in 2008.
  22. Apparently they're sitting on so many recorded songs, at this rate they'll feel past the feel and style of album 6 and it'll be scrapped and restarted. :/ EDIT: The more I think about it, the more I think scrapping it for now is the right choice actually. This McBusted idea has totally taken over and actually its more of a distraction than an aid in terms of promo. The best they could do would be to create hype through McBusted, maybe release a McBusted single or two with the band during the tour and then when its finished build on the hype and success of the tour with a new McFly album, whether its the one they planned to release now or something a bit different. If they are going to release anything else as McFly before the tour, they need to stay focused and actually promote it on television. But the demand for McBusted and nostalgia clearly far outweighs the demand from fed up and desperate McFly fans and so who could blame them to chuck it all aside, as hard a decision for even the band that would be for now. This track has only managed to get top 10 (I'm calling it early, I know) because of various versions including some of the McBusted hype (not that the McBusted version was promoted well at all) and so unless by charting it gains some extra fans, it'll fall out of the charts very quickly and unfortunately will be just as easily forgotten. They've obviously shown frustration for the lack of airplay, too. BBC Radio completely ignored the track in particular. They need to work out a better strategy. No doubt as a band they could easily just keep going like this with the odd single and album there not making a major impact, because their tours always sell well as they're an incredible live band and as an unsigned act they can pick and choose their working days and profits as much as they'd like, but I always get the feeling with McFly that they're always just a few steps back from the real and reachable possibility of making an impact and being at the top of the industry. Whether that was the management's bad decisions in the past and present or they've actually been carrying them over some huge cracks in the pavements I really don't have the inside knowledge for, but what I can take from all of this is that maybe what will happen will be for the best and I can wait another year.
  23. People who met them today at the Izzy's Attic pop up store spoke to them quite in depth about it. They sound quite fed up for their own fans tbh. Management keep saying its not the right time for the album hence it getting pushed back, basically.
  24. From what I've been reading it sounds like Album 6 wont be around any time soon now, probably after McBusted material at this rate. Harry apparently wants them to at least release their own singles for the fans if not the album but management have their own ideas. Not sure what is going to follow this release now. Matt Willis mentioned 2 weeks of exciting work with McBusted starting next week - wonder what that is all about?
