iTunes Chart: January 2011 (I)
187. Nowhere Left to Run - McFly Gosh, I so hope they've change their new single to this. Its such a waste otherwise. Its the best on the album.

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
I agree, although I reckon That's the Truth is the second strongest actually so its not that bad a choice.

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
Its jumped on Itunes already. An odd choice unless they have changed the release now, don't you think? Judging by Twitter comments its hyped general music fans up for its release now - which might not even happen. & If it does it wont be until about June!

iTunes Chart: January 2011 (I)
Possibility McFly's Nowhere Left to Run could jump and enter the top 100 after a performance on Alan Carr/ its currently trending on Twitter. I believe its not album only. EDIT: top 100 was a bit of a push to say, but its currently at #310. EDIT2: #247

Who is releasing next year, and do you predict flop or fly
I saw Mel C in Blood Brothers. She was very good, its a shame she hasn't had a lot of success as a solo artist in recent years. I agree she's likely to flop.

Who is releasing next year, and do you predict flop or fly
McFly are releasing "That's the Truth" and then hopefully "Nowhere Left to Run" as singles. I don't think either of them will flop (especially with such a low selling album). That's the Truth should have reasonable success if promoted, while NLTR if chosen as a single could actually be very popular, I reckon. Both should do better than Party Girl. Not sure about That's the Truth doing as well as Shine A Light has, though.

Underperforming artists 2010
McFly's album badly underperformed. Party Girl, although charting well in its first week, only stayed top 40 for about 3 weeks. However, Shine a Light was a good move forward and a bit of memorable success for them. I hope its a sign of a good year to come for them.

McFly to #14! Brilliant. Looks like they'll climb quite a bit in the chart this week. I hope so anyway.

iTunes Chart: January 2011 (I)
Wow, McFly at #15. Looks like Shine a Light is still going to be hanging around for a while...

iTunes Chart: December 2010 (II)
McFly have climbed back up to #16. Wonder why? I guess its just the other tracks dropping in sales rather than an increase?

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
Really? Which song would you prefer?

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
Actually, if That's the Truth sells well but album sales don't improve, I could see them releasing a couple more tracks before moving on, maybe?

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
I don't think they're quite right for the current charts. I have a soft spot for Foolish, but both tracks are too plain to make an impact, in my opinion. That's the Truth is incredibly catchy with a stand out chorus, so I really think it does the job. Its also a lot faster than Foolish/ This Song, as are most chart hits at the moment. I think maybe McFly could have gotten away with releasing Foolish/ This Song a few years ago, but not right now. Having said that, I doubt they would have. I think releasing Foolish would be like releasing 'Walk In the Sun' from Motion in the Ocean. If Nowhere Left to Run isn't chosen as the next release, I would like them to try releasing Take Me There. I think it would be a bit of a risk, but I think there is something about it which tells me it could be a track which slowly increases interest from airplay, a bit like Shine a Light which has great longevity at the moment. So I don't think its as big a track as That's the Truth or NLTR, but I don't think its as much of an album track as This Song/ Foolish. I've decided the End of the World wouldn't really work either as a release because of the sample mainly. Its a good use, but I'd prefer a completely original release, so I'm thankful they've decided against it. What I would like to see actually, is for the next single, if they do a fan vote they should allow a long time scale for fans to vote. But not only that, I think there should be second, third and fourth choice options. I think it would be easier to establish the more popular songs, because obviously everyone who voted for That's the Truth may also really love the same track as a second option etc. I'd be really interested in the results. Anyway, I wonder when the release for That's the Truth will be? Can't wait to see the video! I wonder what it will be like? Would like to see something with a bit more imagination than the previous two.

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
Can sort of hear it, but only remember a couple of tracks by them!

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
I don't think it sounds like an album track at all. I actually think it manages to sound like a traditional McFly track but also something really relevant for the current market at the same time. I'm glad they haven't chosen This Song/ I need a Woman/ Foolish as they sound like album tracks to me and I don't think they would do well at all. I think the fact That's the Truth won the fan vote is also a good sign as to how fans will take to the release. Yeah, I think it will be the last release. Will end the album on a high too, I would say.

McFly - That's the Truth [OUT NOW]
Ok, so the guys confirmed recently that That's the Truth is the new single. It was hard finding the track on youtube as I think they're being blocked, but this is working at the moment: Xquc__ekSuQ What do we think? I think its a lot stronger than Party Girl and Shine a Light even. I think it will do very well if promoted well. Slightly gutted they didn't choose Nowhere Left to Run, but that could be next.

Nice to see McFly rising again as they were at 20 earlier.

iTunes Chart: December 2010 (II)
Ahh, I hope Surfin' Bird gets to the top!
-
iTunes Chart: December 2010 (II)
I think a load of songs about birds have just entered the top 1000. I guess people are searching for Surfin' Bird and finding other tracks to download! Unless they were already there.

iTunes Chart: December 2010 (II)
Any reason for this? I don't think this track wants to leave the Itunes chart! Keeps going up and down. Everytime it gets knocked down by other tracks it gets back up again somehow. (Damn, got Chumbawamba in my head now.) Actually, I heard something about an album advert? Surfin' Bird by the Trashmen is in the top 1000 a couple of times, best position 317 I've noticed. No doubt it will be the most popular of the anti- X Factor campaigns this year.

Take That and Plan B announced for Brit Awards
Thats a shame - any reason why it has been scrapped?! I've always enjoyed seeing the winners.

The **Irish** Chart Thread 2010
How come McFly started doing alright on the Irish chart? Was it that Late Late Toy Show they performed on, do you think?

New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 6 December
Its been confirmed by the band that That's the Truth is the new single, not If U C Kate / I Need A Woman.
-
New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 6 December
Maybe its just old and they've changed their minds since. The guys mentioned at one point feeling like releasing iF U C Kate, but having grown bored of the decision, I think.

New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 6 December
It doesn't seem right, does it? They asked their fans what should be released and Nowhere Left to Run/ That's the Truth were favourites. I'll be gutted if they don't listen to them. Honestly don't like the sound of that release at all. 'I Need a Woman' is an album filler imo and they didn't even write 'iF U C Kate'.
