I don't mind this and I quite like she's going back towards the pop/dance sound that she does so well. I do prefer "COFFEE" and "Crown" out of her more recent releases though. Either way, I am interested to see how an album might shape up.
  2. This is easily the best song from the era so far, definitely back up to their usual standards. I hope they're releasing it now to test the waters for how it would do as a single later down the line because it's too good to be left as an instant grat. I definitely see the "No Tears Left To Cry" comparisons but I could also imagine it being the sort of song that could have a BANGING garage remix.
  3. Best vocals - Whitney Best albums - Mariah Best singles - Whitney Least favourite - Celine Favourite - Whitney As much as I like Celine and her vocals are still great to this day, I don't quite appreciate her in the same way as the other two in this poll. Celine likes to do quite a lot of covers, while Mariah and Whitney don't have quite as many under their belt. Before anyone says it, I'm aware that Mariah and Whitney both have two of their biggest UK hits as covers, while Celine's are original songs so I'm talking about their singles collections as a whole. I grew up with a lot of Whitney and I've seen The Bodyguard musical about 5 times, so I might be slightly biased but I'd say almost all of Whitney's top 40 singles are MOMENTS. How can one woman have the quality of "Saving All My Love For You", "How Will I Know", "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", "One Moment In Time", "I'm Your Baby Tonight", "I Have Nothing", "It's Not Right But It's Okay (Thunderpuss Remix)" and "Million Dollar Bill" in their singles discography? The bops jumped out. However, as much I love Whitney, I think Mariah has the stronger catalogue of albums. I got into Mariah around "The Emancipation Of Mimi", "E=MC2" and "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" so I love lots of album tracks from those three. ("Circles", "Migrate", "Side Effects", "Love Story", "Standing O", "More Than Just Friends") I haven't listened to them in a lnog while, but from her debut up to "Butterfly" her albums are pretty strong too. I think she's lost her quality a bit the last few years, but I would say "Caution" was a pretty decent album so there's still hope.

Good questions. Struggled a bit with question 5 as I'm not really aware of who is up and coming, but a nice variety there.
  5. Lyrically, this exemplifies the worst parts of toxic relationships and I don't think we should be celebrating that behaviour in a pop song. BUT also it's a bit of a bop so I don't know how to feel.
  6. I don't mind songs that didn't chart being included - if it's what Buzzjack likes then it shouldn't matter if the public liked it. This isn't a new thing either, I remember "The Girl and the Robot" by Röyksopp and Robyn used to do well here despite it never charting in the UK/US. I think it's interesting that for some reason this year Buzzjack suddenly loves Lana del Rey, Grimes and Billie Eilish but that's why I like about this Buzzjack institution. Sometimes Buzzjack is in a Pop era, sometimes it likes R&B, this year it likes ~moody females.

  10. I hope this can climb into the top 40 in the next few weeks. Seems like the sort of thing that would do well on airplay and become a bit of a slow burner.
  11. I am loving this series so far, the girls come across really well and natural as judges/mentors. The female dance group is a bit of a weird category. I'm guessing they're looking for people who can match them in terms of choreography and they're not as worried about the vocals. Might just be a way of saying they want a group that can dance as well. (at least I hope so - I'm not that bothered about watching just dance)
  12. I don't want the album to be super samey, I just want it to sound like a body of work where the tracks belong together. Ironically, this era feels the least "them" so far. I think they know from the performance of "Bounce Back" that their star is fading and they're pushing songs out that they think *might* go down well on TikTok etc. I guess my main disappointment is that the Little Mix I like is quite different from the Little Mix the public likes. Their best album for me is "Salute" and parts of "LM5" was the closest they've come to matching that, but I'm not getting that vibe so far. This album is reminding me of "Glory Days" so far, which the public loved but I think it's their weakest effort.
  13. Ooh I bet it's Mel B! She's always blaming Mel C for reunions etc. not happening. I'm enjoying this album so far, her best since "The Sea". I'm really into "Fearless" at the moment.
  14. It really shows how low sales/downloads are now that "Times Like These" is 2nd and Jonas Brothers have snuck in with "What A Man Gotta Do".
  15. It always surprises me how well remembered "Figure 8" is, but I'm pleased as it's definitely one of Ellie's best songs. Good to see "Higher Love" in the top 75 just about as well.
  16. I am a bit disappointed by this, but I'm glad it's just an album track. The content is very tongue in cheek, but feels a bit beneath them at this point? Plus "LM5" was great and everything they've released since then has felt a bit "not their best" so maybe "Simon" had a bit of a point. I just hope the album has more "Wasabi", "Strip", "Joan Of Arc" type songs and less of what we've heard so far - there's no cohesion at the moment.

KcoBgdBP-4c A remix of "Touch Me" with Kehlani has been released this week. Loving their voices together, it's a ~sensual vibe.
  18. Girl, you have done it again. This is the year of the Stallion for me - didn't really know much of her before this year but she's bringing it with "Savage", "WAP", "Girls In The Hood" and now this. Work it bitch.
  19. I don't mind this, but it's a bit disappointing for me. I want her to be successful but the style of the song feels a bit like she's chasing another hit. I'm sure it's a grower though.
  20. I really like this, seems like the sort of song that should have taken off for her. I haven't heard much of her own material, but this has me interested.

Oh well I didn't read the thread before answering. I missed the bit where we're supposed to give as many answers as we could think of. There was me thinking we had plenty of time to answer each question.
