  2. This is...good! It's almost exactly how you would imagine Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa to sound together. It's basically a mash up of "Midnight Sky" and "Physical", which is great because those are both good songs but I suppose I was expecting something a bit more elevated from both of them? I mean I'm still going to play this loads, I'm just not bowled over.
  3. I think the issue is the subject matter - he's essentially complaining about how being a big popstar at a young age messed him up, whilst desperately trying to win the public over so he can be as big as he used to be. It comes across slightly hypocritical. I just don't know how much can the public relate to the struggles of being a worldwide super rich popstar compared to heartbreak, death etc. I think the Shawn lyrics and Justin lyrics are talking about the same subject, but Shawn's parts are written so much better. Shawn's verse is essentially talking about being unable to cope with fame from a young age, but in a much more classy and tasteful way. You could almost link the lyrics to the first verse and the chorus to relatable situation like relationships, work etc. whereas Justin's parts are very one dimensional and hard to warm to. I don't mind the song overall, but I do feel it would be more listenable if it was Shawn by himself.
  4. Haha, it wouldn't be a proper Buzzjack Beverley Knight discussion if Aaron and Simon weren't involved. I'm great thanks, hope you're well, haven't seen you on here for a while! Oh gosh, I really want her to make an Affirmation 2.0. I did really enjoy "Soulsville" but I'd love her to go back to doing more original material and less covers!
  5. I am looking forward to this new version - I'm surprised it has never charted here and barely charted in the US either. Since it came out it has been an essential part of my annual Christmas playlist, so hopefully this new version will make it a Christmas staple.
  6. YES. This is good, glad it's an upbeat song - sort of expected it to be a ballad.
  7. I'm looking forward to hearing this - Justin has sounded really flat on his material lately, but this has potential to be great. I'm loving the sound and visuals from this campaign so far, let's hope it's a big hit.
  8. Songs should be between 3:05 and 4:15 except for special occasions. :hitler:

  13. That sounds exciting, she didn't want to give too much away there but seems like Miley is definitely going hard with the 80s sound on this album and Dua easily slotted into that vibe.
  14. I'm not saying it's the sort of platform that will give him a multi-platinum selling album, but I think an unnecessary greatest hits album is a little bit different to a debut album. If he takes the time to record some newer, slightly more mature, material I think there's a chance it will appeal to more people than he currently does. If he released his album on the original date I think it's too soon for that impact, whereas if they give it a bit longer - record some new songs - and he gets to the final then he has a chance at appealing to a more casual listener.

I'm guessing Justin Bieber still, the positions 11-20 are all posted and climbers are usually posted so that seems to suggest he's a non-mover currently.

How are Kylie's two singles in the top 40? Would love them to stay there, but nothing about Spotify streaming or iTunes seems to suggest they should be in the top 40?
  17. Ah fair enough, maybe on relfection the album was a bit of a Liam Payne vibe where it had been so long in the making that the finished product didn't work anymore. The record label might be wanting to avoid a flop, but I do wonder if they're wanting to scrap it all and start again with something they can capitalise on with the Strictly audience. I don't think Strictly will have a huge effect, but I'm pretty sure his appearance will open him up to a whole new audience. I don't think the average Strictly viewer would have heard his music, so while his profile is building they can work on something a bit better and hopefully sell more albums further down the line.
  18. I, too, am excited for this Miley Cyrus single featuring Dua Lipa from the next Miley Cyrus album. I'm fed up of this trend of songs that are under 3 minutes long, but I am excited for this. I'm expecting big 80s style production as that seems to be their current VIBE.
  19. Why has the album been cancelled? Is he recording some better/more adult songs so he can capitalise on Strictly a bit more?
  20. The biggest surprise in the top 10 for me is "No More Sad Songs". It always surprises me that it's one of their more acclaimed singles because I find it to be a bit bland for them. It's nice and I wouldn't skip it if it came on, but I would probably put it in the bottom half of "Glory Days". I'm backing "Move" or "DNA" for the win please, probably the former.
  21. I think the results are pretty much perfect so far, pretty much all of the questionable singles out first - next must be "Think About Us".

Breathe 11. A Mess (Happy 4 U) Average 12. Nothing But My Feelings 13. My Love Won't Let You Down I'd say this is a very consistent album, "Sweet Melody" and "Happiness" are two of their best songs in years. I'm not sure yet where I would place it in an overall rank of their albums. I don't think it's better than "Salute" or "DNA" but I'd put it on par with "LM5" in 3rd or 4th. I love that this album seems authentic and very "them".
  24. I definitely see this as an option for "Happiness". It absolutely needs to be released and I can definitely see it working with a garage remix/feature situation to go alongside it. After "Happiness" I would like to see "Rendezvous" or "Confetti", they're both a similar vibe and I can't see them doing much but I think they could do a decent video for either of them.
  25. Loving this chart - lots of strong pop MOMENTS to be had in here. Lots of Dula Peep, a bit much for me, but that album BANGS. The only song that sticks out for me is the Frock Destroyers, wouldn't really listen to it out of choice, but enjoyed it on the show. That's a crazy run for Harry Styles, but I would say it's definitely one of the defining songs of the year so good to see it at the top.
