  1. Sales figures are disappointing compared to other albums they've done, but probably higher than some people were expecting. They've been quite busy promoting lately so that will help hopefully. They'll be live on Heart radio at 8am to 10am today and are on Strictly Come Dancing (to be aired this weekend). They'll be on the BBC Music Awards, and their concert with Radio 2 will be aired 18th December online, on radio 2, and on the Red Button. That's only the things I'm aware of. *Edit If you missed the Heart interview this morning, it's available here. They'll be back on Heart for Emma Bunton's show tonight (5pm to 7pm). Hopefully that'll go on the website too. *Edit I originally said they'd be on Strictly Come Dancing on the weekend, but the article I'd read that on was wrong. Maybe they're on another week instead.
  2. For those that have heard it, what do you think of Get Ready For It? How does it compare to RTW, Love Love, and WWWY? A little perspective might be needed. Here's the official website for the film: http://www.kingsmanmovie.com It has some information about the film, as well as a trailer. It's due out in February. I quite like it, personally. It's not as good as RTW, but nothing they've ever done beats that (just my opinion, of course). I loved Love Love but WWWY didn't do as much for me. It was a fine song, but I think they had better album tracks. I'd say GRFI is a grower and I like it the more I hear it. I'd go as far as to say I like it as much as I like Love Love. It seems to match the film it'll be associated with well enough too. *Edited because I'm typing on my mobile and missed out a word.
  3. Google Play's free track of the week is Portrait which is a song from the new album. Google Play's album of the week is Never Forget - The Ultimate Collection, costing 99p. Worth getting if you don't have them. Hope those links work... *Edit The Never Forget album for 99p is the one without Today I've Lost You. There's another version that includes that song, but it's £4.99. I can't see any other differences though. *Another Edit Just seen the Google / Take That advert mentioned earlier in the thread. It's fun seeing all the TT references in such a short clip! I like it. It's here if anyone wants to see it.
  4. I expect the digital version to do well on Google Play as it's number 1 there at the moment (it's cheaper than Amazon's Deluxe edition on CD OR mp3 version, and contains 3 extra songs). There was a full page ad in the Metro advertising the new album "Streaming only on Google Play" and according to Music Week regarding the month exclusive streaming access that Google has: "The campaign brokered by Polydor will feature a bespoke Google Play/Take That TV advert - the first the digital platform has run anywhere in the world." The article also mentions an album launch party today, hosted by Google. It's in Google's interests that this does well.
  5. Well done to them! I wasn't sure they'd be able to do it, but I'm pleased they have. Slightly disappointing for those that use Spotify, but it sounds like it's only exclusive for a while. I'm glad they left These Days and their back catalogue on there at least. It'll be interesting to see how the deal turns out for them with Google. I've listened to the album once so I'm still trying to decide which songs I prefer, but they're all pretty good. I'm glad they're back. ^_^
  6. Gary posted these links the other day: Link 1 and Link 2 He was performing some of the songs from Finding Neverland on Good Morning America with some of the members of the cast. I'm biased but I thought they were quite enjoyable. I thought the girl he sang with was really good too.
  7. I was partly joking but I like lots of artists with a few that I love, Take That happening to be one of those. I can still say I prefer one song over the other, but I haven't heard anything I dislike from them yet. There's still time for me to eat my words though! When I first listened to Progress it would have been my least favourite of their newer stuff, but now I think Beautiful World probably fits that description for me now. Don't get me wrong, I think it has some of their best songs on it, but those stand out a little too much making the rest feel average. I agree with your favourites from Progress Aphrodite, and you're right that it's an album that grows on you. My least favourites have always been Affirmation and What Do You Want From Me? but even those tracks I'm starting to like quite a bit. I really wasn't sure about Love Love when I first heard it, but it's one of my favourites too now. :) Hope you enjoy the EP! I was pretty grouchy when I wrote my post and I don't think it's deluxe albums I actually have a problem with (I bought Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster). It's probably more than annoyance that I like Take That so much I just couldn't hold off from buying their album and now wish I hadn't... however, I had my rant and felt better for it. I won't be getting the album this week as there was something else I wanted to get, so instead I'll just buy the 7 tracks I don't have individually at my leisure.
  8. I can't remember where I read it but Gary was set to find new talent to perform at the opening ceremony for Olympics 2012 on a programme for the BBC, however the people behind the ceremony decided they wanted known artists instead so the programme was scrapped. Simon Cowell comes along soon after with his offer and Gary accepts. Take it with a grain of salt though, who knows how much is true. Year on year the viewing figures for the X Factor have increased. The biggest judge was Simon but his loss didn't destroy American Idol and Britain's Got Talent did fine before he rejoined the panel. A few years ago Cheryl wasn't on the panel and people didn't know if she'd be any good when she joined, I doubt her loss will really change much. The audience are fickle and were quick to turn on her when she didn't put Gamu through last year, instead choosing Katie "can't complete a song without causing a drama" Waissel. As for Dannii... honestly I think everyone has very short memories if they forget how disliked she has been - there were calls she should go when she made a comment about Daryl's sexuality in series 6. Viewers only love people once they're gone, but they soon forget and this time will be no different. Anyone would think this is the first shake up! Remember Sharon? The show is bigger than any judge, no matter what the press would have us believe. We watch it because it's entertaining, and switching a few people about isn't going to change that. From what I've read Gary is being Mr. Mean, and doing a surprisingly good job at it by all accounts. I don't think it will harm him in any way (some still adore Cowell and he was never backwards about coming forwards). I think if he's being as mean (truthful?) as reports say then he's just taking it seriously and it might be what the show needs... considering Louis is still there someone needs to. I'm interested to see how the other new judges are doing though. The big question though is... who will be the special guest at the judges houses!? Is it too much to hope for Beyonce at Kelly's since she's been on the X Factor before? I'm hoping for Tinchy Stryder or Chipmunk for Tulisa (admittedly, I don't know many people she's performed with). Louis will get in Sharon again probably. The obvious choice for Gary is Robbie (doubtful if he does get The Voice job) or Mark, but I'm hoping it's someone more unexpected.
  9. I'm not ashamed to admit that I really love Take That and, as Kathyp once delicately put it, Gary could sing the yellow pages and die hard fans would lap it up (I'd be one of those). :P Progress took a few listens but many songs grew on me and now I love them, so I'm pretty sure the exact same will happen with Progressed. However... /rant on It bothers me when bands release deluxe editions of albums, trying to make out that it's a great fan package (if it were for fans we wouldn't have to buy what we've already purchased before). I don't buy many albums so it was unusual for me to get even a Take That album on its first week, but honestly I doubt I'd have bothered had I known I could spend the same and get an extra 8 tracks (I wouldn't have bought Love Love either). I'll still buy it - it's still cheaper to pay £3.99 on Amazon for those 7 tracks than buy them individually - even though it increases the likelihood of this happening in the future, but it does irritate me and this is the only place I can grumbling about it! /rant off Despite that, I do hope it does well. Those who held off from getting Progress but can find a few songs they like are in for a real treat! On first impressions I think my favourite songs from that teaser posted earlier are Man and Don't Say Goodbye, but I really need to hear them all in full first. It seems a bit strange to me that Robbie is only taking lead on one track... I'm pleasantly surprised by Aliens sang by Mark and Howard - Howard's songs usually take me the longest to get into, but I quite like that after just a few short listens.
  10. You got your wish regarding Amazon. I love their albums of the week offers.

That is what I was thinking when I saw the picture. The OP quoted "an unexpected loss rocks the world of one of McKinley’s own" and later someone said "one of the students", neither saying specifically it had anything to do with a New Directions member. Becky's mum could be introduced because we, as the audience, find out she's dying or she has an accident in the episode. I wouldn't be surprised if New Directions sing at the funeral because Brittany is friends with Becky (in "Wheels" she takes Becky to the bake sale they're holding and reveals she copies her work if I remember correctly) and might encourage the others, if it isn't the case of Will getting them to go to support Sue who is supporting Becky. There are many characters I don't want it to be but especially Jean and Becky as they show Sue's softer side. I love that Sue is mean and has an acid tongue, but I want her to be more than that too.
  12. Sorry for double posting, but I didn't want to make my other post too long... I'm not sure if this is against any rules but if it is I'm sure it will be deleted soon enough, but I've listened to the song a few times and wrote down the lyrics, as accurate as I can get them. I'm tired and some of it doesn't sound right, but I really like to read lyrics along while songs are playing and couldn't find them elsewhere so decided to do it myself and post here. --- Gary: You bring me right back down to the Earth from the promised land We're getting close to the centre of the Earth with a honest plan You'll never be your mother or your father, do you understand? Do you understand? Bridge We don't have too much time here A time it travels far too fast We're not too far, we're too near Before they take it from our hands Why don't you teach your heart to feel And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to talk And give you love love, give you love love Give it, give it what I need Mark: We'll take it right back down to the Earth from the Motherland This is a first class journey from the Gods to the son of man You're at the gates of human evolution, don't you understand? Why don't you understand? Gary: Understand! Bridge Why don't you teach your heart to feel And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to talk And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to feel And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to talk And give you love love, give you love love, give it what I need Brief Instrumental Bridge Why don't you teach your heart to feel And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to talk And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to feel And give you love love, give you love love, give it all away Why don't you teach your heart to talk And give you love love, give you love love Give it, give it what I need --- A few words here and there might be off, but maybe someone else will correct what I messed up on. On a side note, I know they only have a day to film the video but I am hoping for some digital editing to make them into mutants - if Backstreet Boys can do it for Everybody (Backstreet's Back) I expect nothing less from Take That! [Edit] I really was tired when I did this, edited some lyrics. Edited again once I'd heard it on the National Movie Awards.
  13. lol, you beat me to it! I'd heard the 30 second clip on Amazon a while ago (before it was removed) and at first I really wasn't sure. Just like the Progress album it was a little bit different to what I was used to from Take That but, just like that album, after a few listens I started to enjoy it. The tune even got stuck in my head so I'm glad to hear it in its entirety now. I don't think the people who mentioned Robbie sounding great on it or it being a mix of The Flood and Eight Letters have heard it because it is definitely Gary and Mark doing the lead with everyone else blending together. As for the sound, it's more like Kidz than anything else. It's no Rule The World but to me nothing really comes close to that and quite frankly that sort of song wouldn't fit with a film about young mutants trying to control their powers and save the earth from a nuclear Armageddon... incidentally I was already excited about the film (I love Marvel, in particular X Men stuff), so the song is icing on the cake for me. The song does seem to be out a little early though with the film not released until 3rd June - is that normal?

Loved the Take That performances. Although I like The Flood it was lovely to watch Never Forget and see the crowd get involved. That song always makes me feel good though. I'm not a proper fan of anyone else on the show, but I thought Cheryl, The Saturdays and Westlife were all good in my opinion. Other than that my highlight would be East Street which cracked me up. I'm looking forward to Dragon's Den Come Dine With Me and the Newsreaders usually always put on a good show.

I was so hoping that the other team would lose and Stuart would be on the chopping block. Maybe next week... My favourite is Liz. I think she has made a lot of good decisions over the weeks, gets on with what she needs to without complaining and seems to get on well with everyone else. My second favourite is probably Stella, especially after the comment she made at the end. That look her and Stuart exchanged was priceless!

This would be my shock exit, afterall, the judges don't want to seem to let her go. In all the series my biggest shock was Lucie going when she was against Jedward. That week I thought she was brilliant so I was really surprised that not only was she in the bottom two but went before they did.
  17. I've just read an article written by Lembit outlining why he's on the show - he's running for Lib Dem Mayoral candidate for London and doesn't want the Lib Dems to be forgotten during the campaign. I'm sure they won't be forgotten, but will they be remembered for the right reasons? I'm a bit confused though, I thought he had given up politics for stand-up comedy? Maybe he'll find his real calling in the jungle. I guess I'm not really that fond of the guy, but even so I'm not sure why Nigel seemed to take an instant dislike to him (even before he fell out of the boat). I thought Nigel would be a classy guy, but he just seems very grumpy! Normally it takes them a while before they get to that stage, it's usually all smiles for the first day or two! It always amuses me when people sign up for reality shows and clearly don't realise what they'll be asked or required to do. I am really surprised Gillian signed up for it with all the phobias she appears to have, I can understand one or two but she has a list! I think there's a very good chance she'll walk or be first or second out. Before I sound like a misery guts I have to say that I love Stacey! She comes out with some great lines and her voice makes me grin. I loved her on X Factor too and thought she sang beautifully. Right now I really want her to win.
  18. I'm a Gary Barlow fan through and through so I'm drawn to the songs he sings lead on. I know some people aren't too keen on it, but I like that they've created an album that is "Progress" for them as a band without completely ditching their old sound. The only track I really wasn't sure about was Flowerbed, but that's only because of how it starts off. I think I'd have hated it if it had been like that all way through so I'm glad it isn't.
  19. Bought the album this morning and I've given it a few listens through. Highlights for me would be The Flood, SOS, Wait and Eight Letters. I think some of the other songs I will grow to love but need to give them more of a chance first although I will say overall I'm happy I bought it.
  20. Wasn't sure what I thought about The Flood when I first heard it but it grew on me the more I heard it. When Gary starts singing it reminds me of a theme from a Bond movie, not sure why that is. I think it was a huge mistake to release it a week before their album because most regular fans are just going to hold off (like I did). Personally, I don't really care for Rihanna's new single as I like some of her other releases a lot more but releasing this week they'd have still been held off the top spot by JLS in my opinion so it doesn't really matter.
  21. I loved that performance and I couldn't stop smiling while watching it. To me it seemed as though Robbie was extremely nervous when it started, but as soon as the others joined in he looked much more comfortable - as though he remembered he doesn't have to be alone anymore. Honestly, I think being back in Take That will do Robbie some good and that's coming from someone who didn't like the idea of him rejoining. If it was out of tune I couldn't tell, I just know it entertained me and that's all I'm really bothered about from a performance.
  22. For a 3rd single off a really popular album I'd say Said It All has done great. It wasn't my favourite from the album, but it's a grower.
  23. After a think about it I think I'll go with the iTunes pass if I go for either. iTunes formats bother me because I tend to need to convert them but that irks me less than Play.com who have messed up on my last few orders (months late with one, sent the wrong item last time I bought from them). I'm also annoying that Take That B-Sides seem to be getting rarer... I used to be able to buy the B-Side with the single as downloads but 84 was on the physical CD and it seems that Throwing Stones is only available on CD too, unless I'm mistaken. I love to get my albums on CD but I only end up putting single songs on my computer anyway. Thanks for that! I'll give it a few more listens but I like it too.
  24. Not sure how accurate it is but Wikipedia have a list of all their B-Sides: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_That_discography#B-Sides Never Forget - The Ultimate Collection had a track they never released called "Today I've Lost You".
  25. Well, it's 23 in this weeks new Big Top 40 chart (based on iTunes sales). Mark introduced it. I'm guessing a lot went and bought it after seeing them perform it on Jonathan Ross on Friday. I'll be waiting for the official release so I can get it with the B-Side. Still trying to decide if the Take That iTunes Pass is worth it... and then there's the Play.com package... Decisions, decisions.
