X Factor: The Live Shows
I think I was the only one NOT shocked with Joe - my easy favourite going into the finals, and I put 10 quid on him to win at 10/1 - glad I did as his odds will surely shorten now? I think Dannii and Cheryl were both unnecessarily harsh tonight - especially about Kandy Rain. They know better than anyone that the acts don't just pick out what they are going to wear themselves. It's Louis and Fay that will decide. Though I do concur that those two should have covered them up. Re: the Danyl comment, I wasn't especially offended, as he's told the papers, it was just awkward. However I'm sure she didn't mean it especially badly. Have watched it twice now and I think it was a genuine constructive point that she was making for authenticity. I kinda agree, I liked it when McFly left the line 'hope my boyfriend don't mind it' in I Kissed A Girl, even though they all have girlfriends. Also it sickens me how easily Simon can manipulate the show - why should they draw out what order the acts go on - girls, groups, overs, boys and then Simon say 'actually I want to change the order so Danyl can be on last?'. Shouldn't be allowed. Four I really liked, two I truly LOVED, but I felt like it wasn't really a great first show.. 01. Stacey - For this stage in the competition, utterly superb. For Dannii to choose this for her first week was brave but INSPIRED. Had a very live lounge feel! Wasn't flawless, some of the high notes weren't strong but it was gorgeous. 02. Joe - Just brilliant, totally effortless and he made me LOVE a song of Robbie's I don't even like. It just built and built and was beautifully sung. He was my favourite already but still VERY impressed. 03. Miss Frank - Not their finest hour but still very good. All had a couple of off moments, but all had a couple of good moments too. Wouldn't have chosen that song, want a bit more edge, but still very competent and a great group. 04. Rikki - Loved it, appreciate the jazzy thing is something alot don't like, I'm a bit alone on Rikki. GREAT song choice, loved some of the melody switch ups, my kind of thing, he can do better but his voice shone. 05. Danyl - I'm SO sick of Simon's 'one of the best performances I ever saw' rubbish, Nicole and Jade did it better in auditions. It was okay, the last note made it, it was amazing, but up until then it was all quite dull? 06. Lucie - WAY too big for her Leona belts out those high notes, with Lucie not doing that she looked like she paled. Stunning voice but she went into had voice too much. She's done better, but Louis had a point, Leona wasn't that good on the first show probably. Since when was she a musical hero anyway? 07. Lloyd - The movement was not great, so I'd not say he was a 'born popstar' but I liked the vocals in general. Not flawless, not exactly special but it actually impressed me. 08. Kandy Rain - Fuss over NOTHING, sure I'd have dressed them demurely, but they weren't dressed like Sinitta last week - they just had (great) legs on show. No more slags than Sugababes in 'Get Sexy'. And I thought their vocals, choreography and general stage presence were FAR from the worst we heard tonight. People need to give them a break. 09. Rachel - The start of this was just horrible with all the echoing. Not a great fan of the song, it's SO karaoke, but I thought she entertained well, I preferred the performance aspect of it with the 'car' than I did the vocals which were just okay. 10. Jamie - One. Trick. Pony. While I don't deny it was a good vocal, if not great, he came out with his arms out like he was at Wembley again, totally ignored Robbie's advice and I just find him incredily unlikeable! Also don't agree that it takes guts for a pub singer to come on, it's just progress. 11. Olly - I really don't see what people see in him as a SINGER, it's like when one of your mates is just a decent karaoke singer. He is truly average, but such a nice guy. Didn't like any of the ad libs, totally average. 12. John & Edward - It was actually entertaining! Nowhere near as far from the others as I expected! There was actually some okay vocals and a HARMONY! Great energy but they were out of breath too much. Sadly I am still expecting a Rikki/Kandy Rain bottom two. Shame as I thought they were both decent! Overall: 01. Joe 02. Lucie 03. Stacey 04. Miss Frank 05. Rikki 06. Lloyd 07. Danyl 08. Rachel 09. Kandy Rain 10. Olly 11. Jamie 12. John & Edward

iTunes Chart // October I
I think I read she will be on GMTV Monday Morning? Something about them showing a behind the scenes video thing Friday (before she was allowed to perform), so I'm hoping Monday with X Factor done she can perform?

So happy for Alex, my hand actually flew to my gob, I just checked to see if she was maybe in the low 90's!!!

Alexandra Burke ∙ 'Bad Boys'
So the Michael Jackson single out the same time as Alex seems to have been confirmed :( She's really got the biggest competition possible - MJ and Robbie! :(

Who will be the first to leave the X-Factor finals?
But Matt the other three wouldn't, surely?! I hope if Kandy Rain ARE bottom two (likely) they'll be up against the twins, so they can stay. I actually don't think John and Edward will be bottom two. I think it'll be two of: Kandy Rain, Olly, Rachel and Rikki. I picked Olly therefore as I think he will actually deliver least.. but it's wishful thinking as I like the other three. Still, makes it a bit exciting to go out on a limb! I'd like John & Edward or Jamie to go.

Yeah I don't think that's the way to respond. Irish iTunes proves nothing about the British battle, and Alex winning the show doesn't make her more talented (though in my opinion she is) However the constant bashing is getting tiring, I enjoy and appreciate the updates without the same bitter comment about Alex over and over..

X Factor 2009
I was at their original auditions and the positive comments shown on the ITV show were not actually for the PCD one they did - but for a Brownestone ballad. I think they need to do a big ballad or midtempo and prove the haters wrong with VOCALS, not routines. Don't think we've seen their best vocals.

X Factor 2009
I agree, which is a shame. As Rikki is my fourth favourite and I know Coco (blonde) from Kandy Rain. I hope they both manage to avoid it...

X Factor Odds Thread
Ethan's voice was karaoke and average even compared to Llord. Compared to Joe, there's a CHASM. Also,I saw an interview today, of the boys Rikki is definitely the best in terms of having a bit of life and being interviewed. However Joe trumps Lloyd again - and Lloyd is my fifth favourite lol

HAAAAAAAAA I sooooo hope Alexandra is No.1 next week, if she is I will be in here like a shot! I have never seen one person so unbelievably bitter! The woman is incredible and deserves top spot.

Billboard Hot 100 - 10/17/2009
Yeah I think that's irrelevant, the music Jay was making more, for example 'Tonight' was in the same vein and was created and released to the British market..

Billboard Hot 100 - 10/17/2009
YESSSS for Jay Sean - very pleased for him! Almost a shame James Blunt had to do it first (though I prefer Blunty) as the tag of the first British artist/male to do so for a decade would have given great publicity! I hope this is reported extensively here still! Very proud!

X Factor 2009
Well I am in disagreement with most people in that I totally agree with all Cheryl's choices. Like Cheryl, I just didn't 'get' Daniel (am surprised she seemed to think he was the next best shot in the end), didn't see any star quality or likeability in Duane and thought Ethan was a very, very average singer. For me, the other 'looker', LLoyd is much better and will hopefully make more itneresting song choices. Cheryl was quite good at choices last year, I want Lloyd to maintain his Mraz-style tunes, not become Eoghan. Rikki is a great jazzy singer but NEEDS to stop crying if he's going to get anywhere. Am really glad he finally got to the finals though. As for Joe, for me he has a fantastic tone to his voice and immense likeability - I wouldn't write him off, I think he will make the final. Dannii too made good choices. I wanted Stacey Maclean just because I have a soft spot but realistically she wasn't strong enough. Nicole and Despina both put in good performances across the series - the girls were really strong. Rachel is a bit of a wildcard who could go either way, Stacey is very funny with a great voice and Lucie has just been perfect thus far. Louis - not TOO bad - barring the obvious horrid twins choice. Would have preferred Harmony Hood. But I like Kandy Rain and hope they are given a shot - I figured out I used to be good friends with one of them so am wishing them well! Miss Frank are simply for me the best group the show has ever had. De-Tour and Project A were both much more average. Simon made HORRID choices, I genuinely would have preferred the other three. Daniel Pearce was consistently great and while Treyc wasn't a standout she gave THE judges houses performance. Nicole was not half as good as bootcamp, mind. Olly - I think he's such an average vocalist but can't help myself liking him, so kinda glad for him. Danyl overthinks everything and comes off badly. Jamie I just find absolutely VILE. ------------- 01. Joe 02. Lucie 03. Miss Frank 04. Rikki 05. Lloyd 06. Stacey 07. Rachel 08. Danyl 09. Kandy Rain 10. Olly 11. Jamie 12. John and Edward ------------------------ I am HOPEFUL that while they are novelty, J&E just aren't likeable enough to get voted at all and will end up bottom two and be out week one. Kandy Rain are more likely but they put in a good vocal on a Brownestone ballad at their first audition so song choice could be crucial. Unfortunately Rikki could be there too, or Rachel. I think Lucie, Joe, Miss Frank and Jamie are the ones most likely to make the final.

iTunes Chart // October I
You must, just as good as the first! So pleased for both Chipmunk and the Saturdays. The Sats look like they will be No.3 by morning, I hope they can climb all the way to No.2 and hold on there!

Allison Iraheta Debut
That's a horrible photo of her, in my opinion. Not a dig as she looked stunning nearly every week on the show. And I thought she was great - with good singles will be buying records from her, Kris and Matt, if he ever gets one out!

Alexandra Burke ∙ 'Bad Boys'
This is so odd! Forum by forum has a totally different attitude.. people here are underwhelmed, Popjustice (usually hard to impress) are loving it, UKMIX is a bit more split but largely positive, with people saying video of the year/ best video in ages... very interesting! I'm in the latter camp, I literally don't know what she could have done better, it's superb! Her movement, her attitude, the sunts, I love it! And it's the emergence of our latest big popstar IMO!
-
Alexandra Burke - Overcome
It's not a great cover but it's far better than the single one... they could have come up with something amazing though :(
-
Alesha Dixon ∙ 'To Love Again'
Likely to be a ballad then?!
-
Young Soul Rebels ∙ 'I Got Soul'
I love it. Most artists involved have made the year for me musically - VV, Tinchy and Frankmusik in particular, Chipmunk, MPHO, Kid British to a lesser degree. It's very worthy and lots of fun!
-
BILLBOARD HOT 100 - TOP 50
I really, really hope so! Can you imagine, our males to reach the simmit in recent times - James Blunt (people say 'tosser!!!') and Jay Sean (people say 'who????')
-
Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart
You never know, people didn't expect American Boy to beat Madonna... (and Justin). I think it's a top 5, more radio play could have made it a No.1!
-
Jay Sean ∙ 'Down' ft.Lil' Wayne ∙
Wow - that surprises me.. especially not knowing if he's overtaken BEP (who still have a massive airplay hit, right?) or Miley (still massive iTunes sales).. but well done Jay!

iTunes Chart // August III - September I
Agreed with Aly, the best chance for Say It is that KoL keep dropping off as it gradually climbs above Sean (hopefully) and that when it clings onto the top 10 and appears on the front page, it shoots up a few spots... fingers crossed
