Well maybe its the type of fans that bands like radio head and the cure have that don't buy singles, but albums instead. Take that, jona brothers and Mcfly fans will buy a single at least 10 times to try to get it to #1. Different fan bases entirely. What ever take that or Mcfly releases usually gets a high position, so you cant say that fanbases doesn't have much of an effect on chart position because it clearly does.

I prefer it to 'if this is love', i think it will go #9 and album will go #9 also. Although i hope it goes higher.

LOL, it would also be interesting to see if when winehouse vanishes from her daily tabloid exposure around the world- if she is still charting as well. :rolleyes: It could be argued that this kind of media exposure is more effective than tv promo appearances, of which by the way leona hasnt done much of lately but her album is still selling well WW. Leona is still charting as well nearly a year from releasing her album, her second US single is blowing up, and her third Uk single forgive me is a smash waiting to happen. ;)

Album probably #1 or #2. Single #3. Dont think it will get #1 due to the competition and the song doesn't sound like a sure fire #1 to me.

Duffy doesnt sound anything like dusty..so there goes that theory. Like i already said, duffy is pop as in popular. But shes not what most people would define as 'pop' she is 'soul'. Pop shouldn't be classed as one thing, there is lots of sub classifications in pop. The saturdays for example are 'pure pop', they are not pop-soul, pop-rnb etc etc. They are the pure thing, thats what people are referring to. Everything that is popular is technically 'pop'. If beth gibbons (to use your example) became massive, she would be pop, but it doesnt change the fact she does soul/blues music.
