NEWSFLASH: old people faint sometimes. It doesn't mean they're about to die. George H W Bush did it. Reagan spent half his presidency as an incoherent drooling mess. Teenagers faint. Adults faint. We don't sack them and question whether or not they can do their jobs on the basis of an episode like that because we live in a society with advanced healthcare which isn't so basic and reductive it acts like basic blips mean we're about to die. Or maybe we do! In which case we entirely deserve a Trump presidency because fucking hell exterminate this planet of backwards morons if it thinks 'hmm, I'm not sure about this woman fainting on a hot day, so I think I'll go for an openly racist sociopath to have control of the nuclear codes'.

Well also because literally the entire point of a Vice President is that they should be someone who can step in at a moment's notice. Their purpose is entirely a hedge against the worst happening.

I mean Ronald Reagan basically spent six years of his presidency with very obvious symptoms of Alzheimers, but hey, nobody cared because it's a man. All of a sudden a woman goes a bit woozy at a ceremony and she's not fit for the presidency? Also, hello? This is literally the ENTIRE POINT of having a capable Vice President?! You people seriously need to take a look at yourselves.
  7. Pop songs don't per se fail on their own terms just because they aren't a chart hit. This unambiguously throws back to 80s pop-rock - a sound that isn't exactly in right now. It seems a little r*ductive to judge it as a track on the basis of how well it performs in a chart scene which couldn't be further from this sound.

  15. ...were the IRA just playing with firecrackers then? You can argue until the cows come home whether it was justified or not, but there aren't many definitions of terrorism that don't cover the IRA's actions. And there aren't many definitions of 'sympathiser' that 'board member of an organisation that endorsed the IRA's UK bombing campaign' (as Labour Briefing did) wouldn't cover.

It's not exactly "are you voting for McCain or are you voting for Palin" in the killer line stakes, let's be real. That said I am worried about that bastard Assange.

If anything that we're 2 months out and she's got a 4-6 point lead is historically enough of an indicator that she's won. Nobody's been ahead in the presidential polls after the first week of September and gone on to lose the election since 1948 (not that it's stopped every loser since then saying they're the new Dewey Defeats Truman). Not that these things are iron rules, but there's no ground whatsoever someone could base "Hillary has definitely lost" on at this stage.

Have you really not learned at all from last time?
  24. No, no tribunal would consider claims of racial discrimination on the basis that one person who was black was shoddily treated. Which is why the fact that it was two black women who were treated badly - and in an identical manner - is central to her whole point. As, again, she says in those exact words in the article. Who are we accusing of misrepresentation again?
