Gorillaz getting a huge bump due to Fortnite: Because of catalog-wide gains for the Damon Albarn-fronted cartoon band after the start of the latest season of Fortnite Festival, which prominently features Gorillaz music. And for readers unfamiliar with Fortnite Festival and where Gorillaz fit into the whole thing, the rhythm video game was created in 2023 as part of the general Fortnite universe, allowing users to play along to new and classic tunes à la the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises. In addition to a growing roster of playable songs, the Fortnite Festival experience is broken up into in-game seasons focusing on artists’ discographies, starting with The Weeknd in 2023.
