The BEP performance was not really part of the xfactor monopoly in the same way that cheryl is a judge on the show, leona and alexandra won it, jls were runners up, the charity finalists single. BEP just appeared on the show. They arent known for any connections with the show itself.

Cool performance, trouble is its gmtv, it wont have any effect unfortunately.

Cheryl is below 4 songs that were all released after her single and her sales are still very good so don't get why she needs a parachute <_< Think she could do with lending it to leona to be honest lol

I agree with all of that, very interesting that you say they only grew in popularity with their second album because i was going to say that. But yes, winning the talent show was certainly a good starting point. I just think they did well to keep it up.

^^ i think they mean it was in a turning point in that it was a song that radio 1 really got behind.

I really hope MMH is no1 by the end of tonight. On amazon, MMH is no1 and leona is no13. :D

If you read my post, i did kind of explain this. I said girls aloud were a bad example to use but the other acts i mentioned still stand. In regards to GA, yes they did get off to a good start but PSTR did not help them after that, they didnt get to perform on these big reality tv shows until call the shots in 2007 and the band was created in 2002, thats 5 years! So in effect, girls aloud had to prove themselves for 5 years before they would get a break on one of these shows. GA did not get it all handed to them on a plate atall. And also, as i was saying, winning one of these shows quite obviously doesnt gaurentee success. It can all go wrong aswell. And thanks "Guru", glad someone agrees with me.

Why are you bringing the success of happy into it? Maybe the americans got bored of leona, i don't know. My original point was how leona enjoyed massive success at first because of her over exposure. The american do tend to get bored of artists quite easily, one minute they love someone, they next, they dont care.

Amazing how girls aloud as a band have gone so quiet lately and they still get criticised in a November radio 1 playlist thread lol. Oh dear. Anyway, amazing for mini viva, hope it does well.

In fairness, i would imagine westlife sell very well on physicals at the weekend. There's no point trying to over analyse these things. Its not impossible for BEP to be no1 on sunday, end of.

Yes but leona was successful because she was being hyped up by simon cowell. The record company knew what was coming. America knew what was coming aswell.

All i am saying is, to use another example, some artists try so hard to crack america, they try for years and its so difficult and very few manage it. Leona wasnt even a year old and she got spots on american idol, oprah winfrey and good morning america all on the back of simon cowell. She cracked america in days just because of mass over exposure. So all i am saying is, i can understand why it does annoy some people. Susan boyle is the same, she became famous in america in hours as an opera singer, some singers try years to do that. Its not what you know, its who you know.

PSTR only created girls aloud, it didn't lead to their success. They didnt get performance slots on the show for years after to help them. You can hardly say the winners of reality shows have gaurenteed success, look at leon jackson, michelle mcmanus, steve brookstein, hearsay..... I must admit, after i had posted it, i did think girls aloud was a bad example to use but i still think its valid what i was saying.

Someone posted the charts on other websites yesterday, play, hmv and amazon and BEP were infront of happy on all 3.

What are you talking about? I am not hating on leona. I just hope BEP overtake her because i want them to do better. Stop trying to make a drama out of nothing.
