  1. To be fair, the Bananarama version really is quite naff imo 😂 far inferior to the Steps version!
  2. Pasta A La Clara Beyond iconic!
  3. 5th. Bananarama - Last Thing On My Mind80 Points (Average: 7.27) UK Chart Run: {71}-74->2 Biggest BJ FAN: @pippa @777666jason (10) Biggest BJ HATER: @Spiceboy (3) Sneaking into the top 5, mostly thanks to pippa’s final vote, we have Last Thing On My Mind! The song was very much a flop for Bananarama, who were now down to 2 members. The song snook in to the top 75 at #71 in 1992, and was their penultimate charting hit before their initial split in 1993. 6 years later, the song had quite the poptastic revamp and a reversal of fortunes as Steps took the song to the dizzy heights of #6, removing any doubt that they’d end up labelled a one hit wonder, and certainly paved the way for what was to come from the band.
  4. 6th. Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson - I Know Him So Well78.5 Points (Average: 7.14) UK Chart Run: 63-34-6-3-2-{1}-1-1-1-2-8-10-28-34-41-62->16 Biggest BJ FAN: @Viper* (10) Biggest BJ HATER: @JB (3) The second song to chart in the UK, and the second to chart at #1, lands in 6th place. The song was written for the musical ‘Chess’, by Tim Rice, Benny Anderson & Björn Ulvaeus, making it the second ABBA-adjacent song to appear in the countdown! Steps recorded the song as part of the Abbamania soundtrack and it was later released as a AA side single with Words Are Not Enough… their final single before their initial split! The song was later covered again by icons Susan Boyle and Geraldine McQueen, and I think we all know which version is the superior one

    Not the micro aggression dvd
  8. That’s it for tonight everybody. The top 6 will hopefully be posted throughout the day tomorrow! A quick reminder of what’s to come; but in which order will they finish up?! Bananarama - Last Thing On My Mind Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson - I Know Him So Well Kylie Minogue - Better The Devil You Know Diana Ross - Chain Reaction Jenny Silver - Something In Your Eyes Five Star - The Slightest Touch
  9. 7th Benny Andersson Band - Story Of A Heart77.5 Points (Average: 7.05) UK Chart Run: N/A Biggest BJ FAN: @777666jason @Paddington James @Mangø (8) Biggest BJ Hater: @Jessie Where (5) So, rounding off tonight’s votes in 7th place and just missing out on the top half is Story Of A Heart. The song was famously written by ABBA legends Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and initially featured on a compilation album released in 2009. The original features vocals from Swedish singer and actress Helen Sjöholm. The Steps version stays fairly loyal to the original and ends up sounding not too dissimilar. Now, if only Benny and Bjorn had enlisted 7th Heaven for their version too
  10. 8th. Bee Gees - Tragedy72.5 Points (Average: 6.59) UK Chart Run: 7-2-{1}-1-3-6-11-31-47-62->10 Biggest BJ FAN: @Scene (11) Bigger BJ HATER: @pippa (3) So there we have it, potentially the first ‘shock’ of the competition so far? The first song to appear that has charted in the UK! Not only that, it was a massive #1 for both the Bee Gees AND Steps however, it only finishes here in 8th place! This became the Bee Gees’ 4th UK number one single in 1979. It has since potentially been usurped by the enormous success of Steps’ version, just under 20 years later. Whilst this song is indeed regarded as a classic, I think it’s the immensely high pitched vocals that likely proved to be a turn-off for the members of BJ!
  11. A true tragedy that this didn’t win tbh I still adore the song btw, but it just seems to get all the attention when there are PLENTY of others that deserve it more!
  12. I can neither confirm nor deny that I have a copy of it on my laptop
  13. Think we can guess which way round this one’s gonna go! In anticipation of said result, I wanna share this quite funny (and appropriate) picture I came across on Instragram earlier… 😂
  14. Artist Forum Top 5 for this week 04/10/2026 01 152 Kylie and Dannii Minogue 02 128 Steps 03 100 Madonna 04 77 Dua Lipa 05 57 Taylor Swift Rebounding slightly this week back up to #2, and not a million miles away from #1! Well done everybody ❤️
  15. Don’t let your wife hear you say that 😂😂
  16. And so we move on to the last one for now…! 9th. Delta Goodrem - Dancing With A Broken Heart70.5 Points (Average: 6.41) UK Chart Run : N/A Biggest BJ FAN: @Viper*(8) Biggest BJ HATER: @Spiceboy @Padamic_Tension (5) Next up, beating Worlds Apart by 0.5 points, we have the current Strictly darling and 2026 Eurovision MOTHER, Delta Goodrem. Dancing With a Broken Heart was the second single from Delta’s 4th album, Child Of The Universe. The song charted at a moderately successful #15 in her native Australia. Apart from her first single (released before she became globally famous), this was actually her lowest charting single in Australia up to that point! So it again begs the question why the powers that be thought this should be the song for Steps to cover!
  17. 10th. Worlds Apart - Here And Now70 Points (Average: 6.36) UK Chart Run : N/A Biggest BJ FAN: @777666jason (10) Biggest BJ HATER: @Jessie Where (2) So the second of the 2 bonus entries falls and finishes in 10th place. The song ‘Here And Now’ features on the band’s album of the same name, and was released in 2000… not that long before Steps got their mitts on it! Apart from it being a fully male vocal, it is extremely similar sounding to the version we all know and love, which makes sense given the time it was recorded/released. Fun fact: you may recognise one of the members in the band as Nathan Moore, who went on to manage HRH LSL and who featured heavily in the life-affirming documentary Totally Scott-Lee!
  18. 11th. Mollie King - In The Dark (Beat Of My Heart)64 Points (Average: 5.82) UK Chart Run : N/A Biggest BJ FAN: @Lee_J11 (8) Biggest BJ Hater: @Scene @Viper* (2) Just missing out on the top 10 is The Saturdays’ very own Miss Mollie King. After their split, Mollie got back in the studio to make her debut album. After releasing her first 2 singles to nigh-on zero success (poor cow), the project stalled and she quickly diverted careers to become on to become a BBC Radio 1 presenter, where she remains to this day! In The Dark (Beat Of My Heart), later to be known as To The Beat Of My Heart is an uplifting pop track written by Mollie herself alongside MNEK. The album as a whole never saw the light of day, until it was leaked jsut under 2 years ago. (And there’s some great tracks on it )
  19. 12th. VINCINT - Hard 2 Forget50.5 points (Average: 4.69) UK Chart Run : N/A Biggest BJ FAN: @Mangø (8) Biggest BJ HATER: @Paddington James (1) Hard 2 Forget? More like Easy 2 Forget, as poor VINCINT exits the competition in last place. Potentially not a surprising first exit as this song is probably largely considered to be one of Steps’ least memorable / liked singles! Tacked onto their most recent #1 charting Greatest Hits album, alongside The Runner, it was Hard 2 Forget that was given the single treatment. I guess the biggest question is who thought this song was good enough to cover, nevermind release, in the first place?!
  20. After 3 weeks of voting for your favourite original version of the 12 covers that Steps released, we now have a winner! But who will it be? Stay tuned! But first, we must find out who finished in last place…
  21. Very this 😂 I do still quite enjoy it though (unsurprisingly )
  22. Fingers crossed they’ll start later today (or tomorrow at the latest!)
  23. Sadly I don’t :( Popped SYBM on again… achingly close to 8M now, should probably do it on Tuesday! 🤞🏼
  24. I just want to know who’s Null Voted 😂
