haha Radiohead then Scooter - great thing about British Music Tastes

I suspect coldplay to have a few entries in the charts next week

I'm a little surprised by the figures, I think it will be huge. 400k in 3 days is a possibility, the hype is there and having heard the album, it certainly warrants it. :yahoo:

Hmm, Violet Hill was released as a free download for a week before its download only release. I don't think this is a fair statement <_< I predict 200K in 3 days, got my Itunes pre-order and will be buying on CD too :w00t:

Are Coldplay still top 10? <_<

question is - what will the next release be? I suspect it will miss Top 10 regardless

Chart Commentry Coldplay secure a 3rd Week at number one with the excellent Violet Hill while they also score a second week in the Top 10 with Viva La Diva albeit with a drop down to number 8. Looking forward to the album and with anticipation high, don't be surprised to see VH reign supreme for several more weeks. The competion this week though came in The Ting Tings who impressively move all the way up to number 2 with Thats Not My Name, could they knock Coldplay off next week? Maybe The Fratellis or Vampire Weekend could move up further as they both enjoys new peak positions with Mistress Mable and Oxford Comma respectively. New Entries this week come from Pendulum who make a belated debut with Propane Nightmares which races into the Top 10, just behind them and the Top 10 are The Zutons with their comeback track Always Right Behind You (Maybe a warning for Coldplay at the Top  ) They will be hoping to follow Valerie and Oh Stacey to the top in the forthcoming weeks. A big winner this week is Madonna who enters with her new single Give It To Me at 16, already surpassing her last single 4 Minutes chart peak, which itself makes a reappearence at 19 this week to claim a new high. 1. Violet Hill enjoys a second week at the top, with its nearer competitor Coldplay themselves with album track Viva La Vida which charts on the basis of the availability on ITunes. It is now their 14th hit song, but will it knock Violet Hill off the top next week to give them their 11th Chart topper? They will also face competition from Pigeon Detectives who suddenly leap 8 places to enter the Top 10 for the 4th time in their career and give them their biggest hit to date. There is also good news this week for Kylie who has a reverse in fortune this week and rises back up 6 places, however she will have her work cut out to get the number one spot. New entries this week come from MGMT who follow up their number one hit Time To Pretend with the brilliant Electric Feel, and Ting Tings who enter the chart with their new song Thats my name.

Think it will chart higher next week after a full week available to download - thinking Top 5. When is the video out?

Fire away. I'm gonna bereally Bold and say 500,000 :o Got a feeling it will outsell even X&Y, anticipation seems massive

I still think it has a chance at next weeks number one if it can hold up on Itunes all week

Number 8?????

Well done Kylie :yahoo: Coldplay and Kylie with Top 10 New Entries

Haha I feel you're warming to them

Is it? I think Violet Hill will be Top 5, VLD will be Top 20 I think. Who says its the next single?? Seems no point in releasing this now. They might as well go for a 3rd hit :yahoo: Coldplay in one word Genius!!

 They really are causing the OCC some headaches

Come on VIVA LA DIVA - at least this will not be disqualified. :P

 Just found out it is inelgible - outrageous rules. A lot of people will have bought this to make it count. Come on OCC - use your bloody common sense, so what if it was free last week - It is not this week ^_^ Idiots.

So, with Coldplay selling so much of Violet Hill This week - is it actually chart eligible?? Such a shame if not as I think it could potentially edge Madonna

:w00t: at Coldplay. Violet Hill is awesome and deserves to have some chart recognition. Hope it gives them their 9th Top 10 in a row. Just bought it now
