Even her own family can be a bit negative towards her at times. Did you see the comment from her Uncle, Noel Duggan in this recent interview, about her being a recluse. I hope this link works. If not go to "The Western Mail" on google, and just type Enya into the newspapers search box. http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/whats-on/wh...91466-20570945/

I'm not sure what the enyanews web-site is exactly, I just typed "enyanews" into google and up it came. :) I think it's a fan site of some kind.

The original poster "anywhere is" has since posted has info onto the enyanews web-site. I hope this helps. :D

Did anyone see the posting on Unity, about Enya being seen in Australia sometime in Jan this year dinning with her sister Bridin. Although the poster "anywhere is" tactfully left out the bit which stated that they were also sitting with two "unidentified" men. ;) Do any Australian buzzjack members have any more info on this sighting. :naughty:

Yes that's a good point David, but I'm guessing that you don't live in a small Irish town. :D

I think it's more that she shows no interest, and plays no part in anything that happens in Killiney. They said that she does not even attend the local church, now that's something that's bound to upset your average Catholic.

After speaking to my friend again she says the hostility seems to be centred around the claim that Eithne does nothing at all for the local community in Killiney. The residents claim she just glides in, and out of her castle in her gaint Maybach 62 showing no interest in any of their or the towns problems. The only time she gets animated, they say, is when she is trying to force through some planning application or other for "Manderley". Which she is always successful with, when the locals almost never are. <_< They also say her often professed love of Ireland, and Killiney in particular seems a bit false to them as she is very rarely in residence in "Manderley", they claim she spends most of her spare time in her London apartment.
  8. I have recently watched the interview, and was struck once again by Eithne's comments about irish music, dancing and even irish instruments being banned at one time in Ireland (no doubt by the barbaric English). :o This is not the first time she has brought this subject up, she has mentioned it many times over the years in fact. I know Nicky Ryan is interested in the Irish uprising, and, call me paranoid if you will, but I'm now beginning to wonder if Eithne herself harbours anti-English feelings of any kind. <_<
  9. Yes OYS I read that too, what puzzled me was that the guy who posted the comment gave so little info about this "rare" sighting. Was she with her bodyguard or a boyfriend perhaps, did he overhear any snatches of conversation, what was she drinking, and how much, did she dance a wild Irish jig with any of the locals. He didn't even tell us when he saw her. :naughty: The guy must have been watching her for several hours, and thats the best report he could come up with. I could have done a lot better had I been there. ;) Some people seem genuinly terrified of saying anything at all about Eithne, even when these events are taking place in public, and being witnessed by large numbers of people. <_< Can you imagine the vast number of cameras, and videos being used that night, and he did not even manage to get a photo or two of Eithne or her family. :( Still that's the Unity forum for you.
  10. Where do you think Enya is this Christmas, my money's on Sydney. Mainly as her last attempt to spend Christmas with her sister Olive in 2005 was cut short by her "mercy dash" home to her mother's hospital bedside. B) What do you all think.

According to my friend the locals know all of Enya's staff by sight, including her regular chauffer. This handsome young guy seen driving her Maybach is certainly a new face in Killiney. ;)

Yes David, it's amazing that none of Enya's ex-boyfriends/lovers have ever sold their stories to the worlds media. When you consider that each one could be worth up to 100,000 UK Pounds or more it's even more amazing. Then there's her castle staff, and her PA's (Personal Assistants) past, and present (the blond in the recent Dublin photo's I would guess) they could all make a bundle of cash out of some well placed "leaks" to the press. ;) I would say Enya's been unbelievably lucky throughout her entire career, I wonder how much longer her luck will last.

That's true David, and with all the digital cameras or camera phones that everyone has these days you would have thought that there would be a large number of pictures of Enya in Killiney or even Dublin in curculation. <_< Don't people realise how much photos of this kind are worth to the media in Ireland, and the UK.
  14. Clare posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Which makes it even more surprising that there are not many more sightings of Enya going about her business in Killiney, considering the large number of people that must live around her. <_<

You hate gossip OYS, WOW I love gossip, and the best kind of all is celebrity gossip. Although you are probably right about not finding out about her new man, unless we get lucky of course. ;)
  16. Clare posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Yes it certainly would David. This could also explain the non-exsistant Christmas album. Eithne may have had better things to do with her time of late. P.S. My friend said that Killiney is not really a village (as everyone seems to think it is), she says it's a pretty big place, more of a small seaside town apparently. :)

I spoke to my friend today, she said that she spent a day in, and around Killiney using the Dart railway system. :) She said that she spoke to many of the locals, and even went to the pub at the end of the Vico Road "The Druids Chair" where they are quite happy to talk about all the celebrities in Killiney, and when talking about Enya it's not always very respectfully. In fact she said that some people were quite hostile about her. Apparently for the last 18 months or so she has spent a lot of time, and money landscaping the grounds of her castle. Where her most frequent visitor is said to be Nicky Ryan, he is often seen coming or going from the castles main gate in his large metallic silver Japanese 4x4. The hottest gossip amongst the locals for the last month or so concerns a mysterious young man seen driving Enya's black Maybach limo around Killiney, there is a lot of speculation that this may be her latest boyfriend. No one knows his name or anything about him "yet" as they never see him walking around only driving. <_<

I'm still puzzled by the "boyfriend of Spanish origin" bit, what on earth does that mean. <_< P.S. A friend of mine is returning home from a week in Dublin this weekend, and I'm hoping she will have some gossip for me. :naughty:

Scared, I think you are being very kind OYS, I thought she looked "slightly mad".
  20. Clare posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Yes OYS I think the Sunday Times one is available online, If you type "Enya" and "boyfriend" into Google it usually comes up, it's by a journalist called Tony Clayton-Lea. :) The Daily Mirror one is only available on a web-site called "highbeam.com", and you can only see odd snippets of the story, unless you pay of course. What amazes me is that none of Enya's ex's ever talk about their relationships with her, you would think that these "macho latino" types would react very badly to being dumped by a star, and according to other interviews I've seen it always "appears" to be Enya who did the dumping.
  21. Clare posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
It's not "just" a rumour OYS, there was an interview in the Daily Mirror during November 1997 where it was stated that Enya had recently broken up with her Spanish boyfriend but would not talk about it (how very Enya), there was also a story in The Sunday Times Culture magazine in June 1998 which claimed Enya had a "boyfriend of Spanish origin" (no I don't know what that means either) who was barred from her studio. Was it the same Spanish guy or two different one's, thats anyone's guess. :D
  22. Clare posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Yes it's nice to hear some new info concerning Enya, :yahoo: but it's still puzzling that Roma made no mention of all the fuss surrounding the "Christmas" album. A simple yes or no would have done.

Hi all, I'm Clare, and I have been an Enya fan for a long time, since Watermark in fact. :)
