  1. Possibly the hardest selection to date as most wouldn't have got a look in, in the other years. Even McFly nearly got a point! +15 Kanye West feat. Chris Martin "Homecoming" +12 Will Young "Changes" +10 Kaiser Chiefs "Never Miss a Beat" +8 Girls Aloud "Can't Speak French" +6 Pendulum "Propane Nightmares" +5 One Night Only "Just For Tonight" +4 Oasis "The Shock of the Lightning" +3 Snow Patrol "Take Back The City" +2 The Last Shadow Puppets "The Age of the Understatement" +1 The Feeling "I Thought It Was Over" -2 Cliff Richard "Thank You For a Lifetime"
  2. 'Dreaming Of You' is already in the original selection :P
  3. I'll be doing also. I've got at least 5 songs for each year presently so am hanging on to see if anyone else puts any of mine in first.
  4. Back to a very disappointing selection after a good few years. +15 Oasis "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" +12 Calvin Harris "Acceptable In The 80s" +10 Nelly Furtado "Say It Right" +8 Bloc Party "Flux" +6 Jack Peñate "Torn on the Platform" +5 Hard-Fi "Suburban Knights" +4 The Enemy "Had Enough" +3 Editors "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors" +2 The Twang "Either Way" +1 Freaks "The Creeps (Get on the Dancefloor)" -2 My Chemical Romance "Famous Last Words" - Just from the two bland Cascada tracks.
  5. Disappointing results for 2005. Fascinating voting thus far for 2006, not getting the love for one of the duller Madonna tracks. +15 Gnarls Barkley "Smiley Faces" +12 Muse "Knights of Cydonia" +10 Robbie Williams "Lovelight" +8 The Ordinary Boys "Lonely at the Top" +6 The Zutons "Valerie" +5 The Fratellis "Chelsea Dagger" +4 José González "Heartbeats" +3 The Fratellis "Whistle for the Choir" +2 Jamelia "Beware of the Dog" +1 Pet Shop Boys "I'm With Stupid" -2 Tony Christie "Is This The Way (To The World Cup)"

  7. My prayers were answered.......2004 different class to what we've had so far. Could have easily picked about 20. +15 Razorlight "Golden Touch" +12 Keane "Bedshaped" +10 The Killers "Mr Brightside" +8 Depeche Mode "Enjoy the Silence '04" - The original would have been a clear winner in pretty much any given year. +6 Wolfman feat. Pete Doherty "For Lovers" +5 Will Young "Your Game" +4 Blink 182 "I Miss You" +3 Keane "Everybody's Changing" +2 George Michael "Flawless (Go to the City)" +1 The Libertines "Can't Stand Me Now"
  8. OMG! Thought I must have been in a coma at the time as couldn't remember the majority of these. Having reacquainted myself with the whole damn lot (hoping that I may have forgotten or missed a gem) I can see it was probably because of these tracks that I was in a coma in the first place. Bland, bland, bland. Thought it was start dreadful in 2000 and gradually get better the following years but so far it seems to be the opposite. Praying for better selection in 2004. Really do not understand the love for Missy Elliott either. +15 Blur "Out Of Time" +12 Simply Red "You Make Me Feel Brand New" +10 Stereophonics "Maybe Tomorrow" +8 Emma Bunton "Free Me" +6 The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" +5 R.E.M. 11. Great to see the Ultimate series return. Bit disappointed to see what the rate entailed, as fully expected to either not know or have completely eradicated alot of the list from my mind. The charts were in the middle of it's high speed changeover which never gave any song a chance to grow. As predicted I probably only remembered a small fraction of the songs, but I gave them all a chance by spending some time on YouTube. Hopefully better selection of songs to come as nothing great on this list. As always the -2 is the trickiest selection, narrowly given to the abyssmal Vengaboys (how has this gathered + points?) over Madonna's worst ever track. +15 Dr. Dre feat. Eminem "Forgot About Dre" +12 Coldplay "Trouble" +10 Richard Ashcroft "A Song For the Lovers" +8 Coldplay "Yellow" +6 Toploader "Achilles Heel" +5 Travis "Coming Around" +4 Eminem "The Way I Am" +3 Oasis "Sunday Morning Call" +2 Christina Aguilera "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)" +1 Santana feat. The Project G&B "Maria Maria" -2 Vengaboys "Uncle John from Jamaica"
  12. +15 Michael Andrews feat. Gary Jules - Mad World +12 Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground +10 Take That - Patience +8 Leona Lewis - Run +6 Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah +5 Nizlopi - JCB Song +4 Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This +3 Gordon Haskell - How Wonderful You Are +2 Ozzy Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne - Changes +1 Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas? -2 Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name?
  13. So many obvious options for the -2, it was too hard to pick the worst, so had to pick it at random. God the Xmas charts are even more depressing than I'd realised. :( +15 Eminem feat. Dido - Stan +12 Michael Jackson - Earth Song +10 Take That - Babe +8 Charles & Eddie - Would I Lie To You? +6 Oasis - Whatever +5 The Mike Flowers Pops - Wonderwall +4 Various Artists - Perfect Day +3 Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You +2 Chef - Chocolate Salty Balls (P.S. I Love You) +1 The KLF feat. Tammy Wynette - Justified & Ancient -2 Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
  14. The Moose posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
150 LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock - Party Rock Anthem 140 Olly Murs feat. Rizzle Kicks - Heart Skips A Beat 130 Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me 120 Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song 110 DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans - Louder 100 Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love 90 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 80 Bruno Mars - Grenade 70 Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra - Don't Go 60 Adele - Someone Like You 50 Jessie J feat. B.o.B - Price Tag 40 Example - Stay Awake 30 JLS feat. Dev - She Makes Me Wanna 20 Little Mix - Cannonball 10 Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath -10 Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name? Awful, awful, awful set of No.1's. The hardest decision was the -10, at least 6 or 7 candidates.
  15. What a horrible, horrible list!! The hardest decision was what was the most awful from the rest of the awfulness. Thankfully the best No.1 of the 80's was a surprise inclusion. +15 Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls +12 Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind +10 The Human League - Don't You Want Me +8 Culture Club - Victims +6 Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone +5 Erasure - Crackers International EP +4 The Housemartins - Caravan Of Love +3 Jackie Wilson - Reet Petite (The Sweetest Girl In Town) +2 Wham! - Last Christmas/Everything She Wants +1 Europe - The Final Countdown -2 Cliff Richard - Saviour's Day
  16. +15 Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody +12 The Beatles - Hello, Goodbye +10 Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody +8 Dave Edmunds - I Hear You Knocking +6 The Beatles - Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out +5 The Beatles - I Feel Fine +4 Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) +3 The Beatles - I Want To Hold Your Hand +2 Johnny Mathis - When A Child Is Born (Soleado) +1 Wings - Mull Of Kintyre/Girls' School -2 Tom Jones - Green, Green Grass Of Home Excellent to see the return of the Ultimate series. Unfortunately not many great songs are Xmas #1 but still a good rate to do. Perhaps even a Christmas song rate would have been interesting although their is always some debate on what would or wouldn't qualify as an Xmas song.

Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' Certainly not the worst list of songs in the world, could have easily voted for 35-40 of them - although only one of them would probably make my Top 10 of the last ten years. Gutted that Empire Of The Sun 'We Are The People' didn't make the final.
  18. That'll be because they are male vocalist songs -_-
  19. Another typical set of results, scandalous that 'The Scientest' finished so far down. And is it me or is Bray officially the most forgetful person in the world :P
  20. The two Britney songs qualified..........Really????
  21. Very lob-sided playoffs. Compared to Playoff 1 this selection of songs was hideous to say the least. Have always tried to make it to the 20 but struggled to get to 18 before I finally conceded defeat as the rest are :puke2: 1. Snow Patrol 'Run' [bEST] 2. Gorillaz 'Clint Eastwood' 3. Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' 18. Girls Aloud 'No Good Advice' 19. Saturdays 'Up' 20. Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'Murder on the Dancefloor'
  23. 2001 was obviously not a good year. Worst set of songs in qualifiers and even worst set of songs for final. Struggled to get to 20. 1. Outkast 'Ms Jackson' 2. Gorillaz 'Clint Eastwood' 3. S Club 7 'Don't Stop Movin' 4. Gorillaz '19/2000' 5. Faithless 'We Come 1' 6. Linkin Park 'Crawling' 7. Wheatus 'Teenage Dirtbag' 8. Toploader 'Dancing In The Moonlight' 9. 25. Still shocked and surprised that "Out Of Time" got so many high votes and a No.26 placing was better than initially expected. Hopefully it will bring it to the attention of a few more people who may have been unaware of it (but I won't hold my breath)...........it is the most underrated of all Blur songs. Actually a decent set of results for both 2003 & 2004 and not just the total all-female domination. How some can vote for 18/19 and even 20 out of 20 songs by female singers for every single year as they have done - it just isn't realistic. Brilliant result with Johnny Cash making it also (although I do prefer the original Nine Inch Nails version), agreed one of the best covers ever.
