Waterloo Road · Series 5
i like wr... somehow it interests me in a way many other dramas/soaps dont. but there seems to be a shortage of decent 'boy' actors.... they all look like there 25 dressing up as kids, the girls however are all very good.

Emmerdale
i liked it! shocking but rather funny. great to have nathan back, the slimeball with a sinister smile, cant wait to see him smacked in the mouth! lol, you just know its coming!

FHM Top 100 Sexiest Women
that was a one off and not a fashion/style change.thankfully, so far, they have only dabbled with semi-nakedness and not indulged fully in an act of desperation.

British Soap Awards 2010
gimmie the aaron storyline anyday over the 'whodunnit'... whodunnits are really very boring now. the first i saw was 30 years ago in dallas (who shot jr) and ever since they have followed a similar pattern (and yes i include emmerdales whodunnit) so its a rather tired formula .... aarons torment with his homosexuality though is the first time ive seen this angle on the subject in a soap, and it was executed BRILLIANTLY.

Emmerdale
eastenders and corrie though are the popular soaps and usually win over emmerdale etc. emmerdale isnt hyped up like the major two are, so they will always have an uphill struggle.

Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Best Triplet of consecutive number 1s
i agree its one of his best, but its still pretty poor imho and in the heart of the inovative swinging 60's it really sticks out like a sore thumb!

rip lynne redgrave
rather sad news that lynne redgrave died today. came to notice by playing the lead in 'georgy girl', a 60's classic from ds Actress Lynn Redgrave dies, aged 67 Monday, May 3 2010, 17:59 BST By Paul Millar Film and stage actress Lynn Redgrave has died at the age of 67. Redgrave was nominated for two Oscars in 1967 for 'Best Actress' in Georgy Girl and over thirty years later in 1999 for 'Best Supporting Actress' in Gods and Monsters. "Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven-year journey with breast cancer," her children said in a statement. "She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives." Redgrave was the third child of actors Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson - her sister is Vanessa Redgrave. Shakespeare For My Father, Mrs Warren's Profession and The Constant Wife were highlights of her stage career, all receiving Tony nominations. She recently made guest appearances in TV dramas Desperate Housewives, Law & Order and Ugly Betty

Doctor Who - Series 5
i too have been watching old progs, on youtube, but much further back! i prefer the 60's dr who to the current hyperbolic noisey programmes, but in the 'x factor' age when hype is the order of the day i guess i shouldnt expect anything less.

Best Triplet of consecutive number 1s
the 60's were full of 3+ great #1s. the longest string i can find is from december 65 until june 66 beatles - day tripper/we can work it out spencer davis group - keep on running overlanders - michelle nancy sinatra - these boots are made for walkin walker brothers - the sun aint gonna shine anymore spencer davis group - somebody help me dusty springfield - you dont have to say you love me manfred mann - pretty flamingo rolling stones - paint it black only for frank sinatras 'strangers in the night' to spoil the run in june 2nd. interestingly id suggest that only that and jim reeves 'distant drums' were crap between december 65 and december 66.

Wrong song getting to number one
spandau ballet .... i really liked their earlier material like 'to cut a long story short' , 'musclebound' , 'chant #1'. bucks fizz did many better tracks then 'making you mind up', but was that awful? not in my book, it was the perfect eurovision song.

Emmerdale
i dont like charity much... but hey ho... vive la differance! sounds like some great fun this week involving nicola!

Doctor Who - Series 5
yes. try reading the thread before making daft remarks what is it about bj members? cant they understand the concept of wanting to watch various programmes in the hope of being entertained based on past highs? ive been a tv adict for 30 years longer then many of you... that doesnt make me 'better' or more 'right' but it does give me experience, so when i moan about progs like dr who, eastenders ... its because i can relate to times when these programmes were 'better' imho. i didnt particually like it, others did... thats fine by me!

UK General Election 2010 thread
exactly, that is usual and is why im not so sure labour will be outed. people dont like the slippery, duplicitous, smarmy boy cameron ... otherwise he would be well ahead in the polls. people dont like brown but may well stick with 'the devil you know', and if they care to cast their minds back .... labour did deliver on alot (but not all) of their 1997 policies.. spending did increae in schools that the tories ran down. every school ive worked in has had massive improvements. plus we have had the longest period of economic stability ever... and even now im paying less for my mortgage then i was 17 years ago under the tories.
