well weeks on and theres still little or no comedy to it... but as a drama it is interesting and watchable. maybe my mistake was expecting it to be funny... well, as funny as the first 2 seriese.

ahhh people are seeing sense at last! :P  agreed with your posts on all points.... especially that funny cackle thing chas did, we just looked at eachother then burst out laughing! felt sorry for miserable sam this week, but if i was olena, i wouldnt either! eli has woken up this week too with some cracking performances, pity hes leaving. not only is there great banter between marlon and paddy, but paddy and aaron too. imho emmerdale is sh1t hot atm... and is imho the only 'must see' prog on the box.
  4. i wouldnt have a problem with the bnp, greens and ukip debating alongside the big three... it might put people off using them as a protest vote!
  5. i didnt see the debate.... i hear that cameron was sidestepping issues on spending cuts regarding the police, schools and hospitals.
  6. this is thr RETRO forum, retro = pre-2000
  7. ...for saying that "we are bigger then jesus" back in 1966... sorry but john lennon was RIGHT, people were talking about the beatles back then more then jesus, so i never got why there was upset about it. i never thought it was blasphemous, just a lazy statement of fact.
  8. i think you are spot on danny :)
  9. look at this... http://www.conservatives.com/ the tory manifesto...

yeah, i dont know why nickleback were mentioned, what have they got to do with it? perhaps he means that nickleback (who are crap) play original music where as scooter who use samples/covers are inferior to nickleback because they dont? ie original = good, samples = crap?
  11. oh right, so wheres dave getting them from?.... dave?
  12. they didnt ban 'admiral halsey', it was played daily, i taped it...
  13. hi and welcome to the site :) personally im not sure which charts the bbc used, there are links to chart sites in 'resourses' .

personally im pleased that so many of you are also fed up with the obligatory daleks and cybermen. i hope they get dropped, not from just 1 seriese but for several at least.... if dr who survives.
  15. tbh i dont usually listen to retro sounds, except dance from c 10 years ago.

ffs jark, if you dont agree with any post critical of ee, then ignore it simples theres no need to create a mass argument just because YOU dont agree with the criticism. i post what i see, i dont think ee is any good but it SHOULD be, as ive repeatedly said. i know im being objective, what other reason would i have? arguing for the sake of it?...pur-leez... i have better things to do with my limited time online. (hence why i dont comment on every episode, i could do, now that would be ott). i dont hate eastenders per-se, i hate the way its being produced, the half baked storylines, the preaching, the ott hyperbole, the un-likeable characters, because historically it wasnt like that sonny... eastenders was one of my favs, the characters were likeable (like emmerdales are now, i like them, id like to be part of that community, hence i like emmerdale) id hate to be in albert square now. theres no one i like or if it was real life would want to be mates with. the thrust of my criticism is that it aint the programme i liked, this frustrates me, i would like to regain my liking for it...
  17. i know you did, i was still clarifying your question though.

thank you norma.. i think youve hit a salient point there too, ee fans ARE much more fanatical and dont take to criticism of their fav show. many who are critical of us being critical werent even born when ee was at its best... i remember how captivating it was, i remember the great storylines and great characters.

? in what way? im not aware of nickleback raiding retroland for samples/covers .. i like scooter, i dont like nickleback.

thanks for that link :) it is most enlightening! perhaps those that have no credited samples just havnt had them discovered yet!

jark.... you are wrong. i gave a brief overview on the programme i viewed on friday night. thats what the threads for... not to bum it up, but to give an honest account of the programme. i have contempt for anything preachy, badly executed storyline, unlikable characters in the same way ill praise when it is fitting to do so. i did praise the p**** storyline, ive praised lacey turner who is a stunningly good actress ... in fact i rate her the best actress in any soap on tv. just accept it, we dont all think the same.
  22. as in factual statistics porporting to those polls in '92.

pretty much what i said last week, smith isnt as charismatic as tennant. indeed, a massive groan at the daleks.... yawn.... i liked the storyline getting more or less off earth, and in the furture, started interesting then litterally lost the plot...
  24. thats about as much a newspaper as i am the prime minister.
  25. i wonder if there are any official statistics from the 1992 election, the one where labour were ahead in all the polls and were expected to win..... only to be trounced yet again. take the lesson, polls are only a GUIDE and might not reflect accurately relfect countrywide opinion. id be very surprised if the tories won a working majority, boy cameron has read the 'how to win an election' guide book and like a swatty schoolboy is following instructions. imho cameron isnt a credible pm, hes a reletively inexperienced schoolboy, i expect brown to still be in office .... the scruffy old slug still has more of a statesman like image then cameron.
