Coach Trip
aww... i liked vin, his way of putting things so bluntly! the girls are the only ones remotely likeable atm, but them punks might be ok once we get to know them.

Emmerdale

UK General Election 2010 thread
because they were / are so adamant that boy cameron WILL win by a huge landslide. now the polls are reversing their earlier hyperbole and those of us sober enough not to believe outrageous polls are being proven to be the better judges.

Coach Trip
i dont get the love for those two nonentities from a failed pop band.... russ n caroline hardly took part in anything, showed little interest in anything cultural, and were pretty boooorrring. and she with her tight fitting face must be one of the ugliest bints ever to grace a pop group. love vins attitude, and i agree with rich, the new crowd arnt very likeable.

looking more and more likely that there will be a hung parliament, proving crazy chris and craig WRONG in their sweeping statements regarding a tory landslide.

the greatest sacrifice of them all?
this forum is about debating perspectives, religion is the biggest entity in society so its claims are fair game for question/riddicule. im interested in life, the meaning and reasons the human race exists and what our true purpose is. religion relies on blind faith, but the universe doesnt run on blind faith, it runs on scientific laws. so when religious groups claim to be 'the truth', i want proof of this, saying 'i have the right to believe wtf i want' doesnt make it the truth. i dont believe anyone can run their lifes safely on 'i believe therefore it is'.

the greatest sacrifice of them all?
well its easter, the time when religion turns to celebrate the 'risen christ' who supposed to have died for our sins. the supreme sacrifice?.... well it isnt really is it! 3 days being dead in a cave then being ressurected to live forever in heaven is a pretty light sentance! hardly a 'sacrifice' was it! lets face it, a REAL sacrifice would be for jesus to go to hell to pay for our sins! i wish somebody somewhere can come up with something tangible and explain how all this works cos it sure as hell doesnt make any sense to me.

The BBC Charts 1958 - 1969
good idea but i dont think there will much response as bj'ers dont appear to be interested in much before 1980...

NEW GLOBAL MOD
tbh richard i dont agree, i reckon a global mod is better off being more mature... but im not criticising rfc who will im sure do a great job.
-
Emmerdale
id suggest that corrie is at the bottom of the pile atm ... its just dull, even i prefer eastenders but imho emmerdales the only 'must see'.

Doctor Who - Series 5
i was critical of the tardis's pyrotechnics...the programme opened with yet again the tardis on fire , thats a fact. his mannerisms were more like tennant then troughton. troughton was aloof, laid back, eccentric and absent minded, but came through when the going got tough... this bloke just played it like tennant, all running around, huffing and puffing . the storyline WAS the same as the new era... deamonising something close to home, from 'whats under the bed', 'water', the shadows, just basic childhood fears only this time they used a crack in the wall.... and imho he (cant even recall his name, which kinda supports my view) has no screen presence, hes not interesting to watch, unlike tennant whos gurning and facial contortions gave him an air of interest. whether subsequent episodes will change or impact my view remains to be seen, but tbh im fed up with the obligatory appearance by bloody daleks, and cybermen etc... historically they only cropped up once a blue moon, not every seriese and it used to be a joy to wonder which alien monster he was going to tackle next, unlike today when youve already seen the previews. they ought to GET OFF EARTH, and invent some new alien life forms, the scope is HUGE, and infinately more interesting, which is why 'star trek' was so popular over dr who. at this rate dr who will finish....for good this time.

is religion behind homophobia?
everything else is subjective? no it isnt! gravity isnt subjective! its a constant fact! :P i dont agree, id suggest some blokes are more sensitive up there then others are, if every bloke was equaly as highly stimulated up there then every bloke would be getting pleasure that way. it like saying all women prefer penetrative sex over oral... or that all women get equally highly aroused by stimulation of the breast/nipple ... they dont.

UK General Election 2010 thread
an example of what ive said all along, when it comes down to it and dispite the polls, boy cameron simply isnt electable, hes full of hot air and is not a credible pm.

Doctor Who - Series 5
i must be watching summut else then, cos i thought it was pants. fed up with the tardis pyrotechnics, surely its beyond repare now... he was trying too hard to be tennant, same old same old storyline ... dont like him, he has less charisma then frankie on 'the door' and shes just...... troughtonesque?...my arse richard... i was alive when troughton was dr who and this guy is no troughton.

is religion behind homophobia?
im saying that not everyone gets pleasure from stimulating the prostate ... and its prostate, not prostrate. my arse is for passing $h!te... tbh i reckon gods having a laugh putting something so pleasurable up there!

Frankie on "The Door"
well..... i think its safe to say that frankie has redeamed herself after that embarrassing performance on 'never mind the buzzcocks'. respect to her for trying that out, im not sure id put my hand in a jar with scorpions and spiders, and her line (when in the cage, anticipating nasties' to join her) "i hope its rabbits" had us  she showed guts and humour. pity she went out so early but tbh it was obvious that the girls would be out. pity cos i cant stand dean gaffney, whats with all that wretching? is there mirrors in there?

Emmerdale
that is emmerdales strength and has been for many years now .... the odd quip thats often nearly lost in convo, viv and nicola are the usual suspects. loved it.... sally being evil to the end, that stare she gave ashly, creepy, un-nerving but great!
-
is religion behind homophobia?
i fully agree with the first point but not the second. i think its different for different people, theres nothing about my arsehole that i link to sexual pleasure at all.

ban smoking in cars!
me neither, and nor has clare (who part time works in bars). as for dublin..... russ!!! we were there 4 weeks ago and the pubs were packed, the nightlife there appeared to be alive and kicking with no detrimental effects of any smoking ban. it simply isnt true that the ban is killing pubs, the decline started long before the ban and has more to do with changing social issues... less people smoking, more people staying in, changing ways of spending leisure time, cheap plonk from supermarkets.
-
bjork vs bush and bannion
interesting perceptions guys... tbh i see more of siouxsies influence in todays music (certainly at the commercial end of the scale) both in music ('indie) and fashions ('indie' fashions). maybe not the most inovative artist, but bannion shouldnt be overlooked.

EastEnders ·
