Emmerdale
agreed 100%. im really impressed by the aaron storyline, and highlights the angst some closet gay people must go through, its great to see this angle on a person trying to come to terms with being gay. ive never rated ashley either, although the part needs a simpering wimp and he fits the role perfectly. but this uncomfortable storyline where this 'good man' has been totally destroyed, slowly, but evil sally (brilliantly cast) is genius.... watching helplessly as ashley falls apart ... his best storyline in 14 odd years on the soap. i turned back at 8.... i much prefer the emmerdale second half to the extended unentertaining, hyperbolic, e..... oh you know what im going to say!

is religion behind homophobia?
id sooner be blessed with free will, a brain, to challenge everything, to explore this wonderful universe and (in your eyes) get it wrong then be born a robot. but free will has nothing to do with the nebulous bible.

is religion behind homophobia?
because its not about art or artistic interpretation, its deadly serious, the salvation of mankind is something god HAD to get right.... and given the incredible accuracy found in natural/physical laws (creation) it should have been p*** easy for big g...

bjork vs bush and bannion
i too agree with richard, kate every time. however, im not sure about how much patti smith there is in siouxsie, and parelells the old argument sex pistols vs the ramones/new york dolls etc. whilst british punk wasnt initially original, we made it ours. fashions inspired by siouxsie are of course still seen in current indie kids clothes!

bjork vs bush and bannion
having an interesting chat over on ds about these 'greats' . im not a fan of bjork, i dont like her material although i do recognise that shes been pretty inovative, creative and inspirational. but i dont rate bjork as highly as kate bush or siouxsie sioux, and out of the 3 its actually siouxsies influence that is most prominent in todays music with her iconic image being widely copied amongst 'indie' fashions and music. how do you see it?

Global Warming: Fact or Myth
.... and now it appears that theres not 1 shred of scientific evidence that global warming is shutting down the gulf stream, it has been revealed.

is religion behind homophobia?
....... which pretty much makes the bible useless as a text to live by created by the hand of god. 'creation' is not ambiguous, the laws of nature are fixed eg 1 + 1 = 2. which is why 'creation' and the bible do not have the same author, god can do anything he wants to, hes supposed to love us so much yet unlike the created world his lifeline to the worlds population is a nebulous, contradictory, unclear, work.

Covers Which Were Better Than The Original
good idea pete, glee is turning retro tracks into a karaoke commodity which is kinda ruining there retro image. not bothered, it doesnt make it a fact, i hate ott vocal gymnastics, i hate wailing bints, leona fits this description!

daltrey calls for moon biopic
from digital spy http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a21...oon-biopic.html i reckon its a great idea, keith moon (the loon) was one of pop/rocks original wild boys whos antics often got him into trouble. i thought he was a fantastic drummer and fantastic character, something sadly lacking in todays pop world.

Emmerdale
i agree with you mostly... but not about holly, i like it when emmerdale uses 'ordinary' people, it gives it more reality... yeah shes a plank, but not everybody in real life is lively. i cant stand natasha, imho shes the worst actor there and the most unlikeable character.
-
ban smoking in cars!
now i agree with this, banning smoking whilst driving for reasons stated....yes and sat navs? wtf? created for WOMEN who are unable to read maps :P and road signes... i mean, its bloody simple!

Retro Referances in modern songs
indeed and in 'weekend' theres the seemingly bizarre 'respect to the man in the ice cream van' like at the end.
