exactly... dealing with being gay but hating gayness, brilliant storyline, what a refreshing take of 'coming out' in a soap and its great to see that not all gays are being portrayed as mincing queens on tv soaps.

i like scooter! i find their 'in yer face' hardcore rather amusing, im just seriously doubting that anything they have done is totally original.

ever created an original track? one without pinching riffs, lyrics, etc?
  7. (ok not too modern) scooter - 'weekend'.... "respect to the man in the ice cream van" giving the nod of respect to the klf.
  8. which is why i said 'for eg' .....

more nonsense.... and every week (seemingly) we are promised that 'next weeks looks better/great/whatever'
  10. i like it! .... even though its abit dated, at least it harks back to when dance was great.

the latest from the big brother/nanny state is a call by a group of doctors suggesting a ban on smoking in cars, especially when theres children in them. they reckon passive smoking is effecting kids health, and well it might be, but do responsible parents really smoke tf in a closed environment inflicting the passive smoking on their kids? im not fan of smoking, i welcomed the ban in pubs, but tbh this call by these doctors is going abit far.... itll be the home next.
  14. dunno if this will work, but lets see. lets list the referances to someone/thing/lyric that appear in modern songs... for eg kesha - 'tick tock' referances 'mick jagger', some might not know who mick jagger is! (lead singer of the rolling stones) and arctic monkeys - 'when the sun goes down' referances in the lyric "he told roxanne to put on her red light" , a nod to the polices chart topper 'roxanne'. can you think of others?
  15. tb fair we have covered (lol) this topic several tims.. so i deliberately didnt include many 60's myself and several 70's (denis, i fought the law etc)
  16. ...not as old as me, no ones mentioned any cover from the 60's! lol.
  17. yes ive read/studied the bible, i took the bait, i believed in the israelite, until i started to think and examine the doctrine which ultimately proved to be rubbish. and do you know what i find most annoying with it?...its the way the goalposts are constantly being moved in order to prove a point in the very way (with respect) you have here... excuses, always excuses. and the biggest pile of do do is the notion that 'god gave his only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life'... well, just what DID god do?... give is son to die for our sins?...only once he was mortal he was GOING to die anyway! and die? hold on a mo, isnt he in heaven seated on the right hand side of god?... thats hardly a sacrifice is it! ...and which version of 'god' is the right one anyway? the christian version has no more superior claim to know god then a muslim for eg... maybe god exists, but it sure as hell aint the character that any religion depicts.
  18. its ridiculous.... take youtube for eg, its a great way of downloading forgotten/rare/old tracks that you simply CANNOT BUY, thanks to someone posting a vid. and heres another example... last year i bought an album by 'capetown' on the strength of the music i heard on youtube... only to find that the extended version of my fav track wasnt on the album! but it is on youtube... so not only could this ban on youtube reduce sales because we wont get the exposure... but i cant buy the version i wanted anyway!
  19. id agree that the ones that gave the orders should be tried... but not the ordinary soldier who had to carry out the orders. id have more sympathy for the jews if they were condemning more recent attrocities, but they didnt, i feel abit uncomfortable in being made to remember the jewish holocaust and not the other attrocities... i dont think the recent massacres in the balkans, africa or iraq are any the less lamentable then the jewish holocaust.... besides what about the gay people and romanies that were gassed too?...
  20. i know these threads pop up quite regularly, but they are good info, i see theres several tracks being mentioned where others had no idea it was a cover.
  21. interpretation?.... whats the point in setting out a doctrine in which to live by if it isnt clear?... IF you accept the bible is gods work, and if you believe creation is gods work.. how is that compatible? the sun WILL rise in the morning, if you drop something it WILL fall to earth...gravity isnt optional! 'creation' isnt open to interpretation to anything other then what it is. the laws of nature/physics are quantifiable , they can be measured and are constant. this is my main argument AGAINST any bible, creation vs the holy book... clearly do not have the same author!
  22. agreed :)
  23. you mean " man shall not sleep with fellow man nor beasts of the field[/i]" i think thats pretty clear tbh... please feel free to post links/citations from the official catholic churches views on homosexuality, or anyone else from any religion that accepts homosexuality as normal. as i see it, people are either homophobic or they interpret their religion to suit which devalues it and makes a mockery of it... either way religious people lose!
  24. no wonder you grew up with such a moronic, caveman mentality then.
