not in my book it isnt.

Alexander McQueen, RIP
eh?...you blame geldof?.. why? i was under the impression that yates left him of her own accord and wasnt dumped or driven out by him. her choice to leave, her choice to shack up with hutchence, her choice to drink and take drugs. i broadly agree with you though about your opinion of her.
-
EastEnders ·
yep id agree with that. i wouldnt go that far, best of recent years maybe, but back in the 80's it was bloody good every time it went out. nice to see common sense prevail for once. interesting episode, i liked the main suspects all accusing eachother in groups..

EastEnders ·
id look to one of the soon departing actors.... peggy or bradley.

EastEnders ·
BEN?..... what an effing JOKE.... but thats what ee does best... take the most ridiculous conclusion to finish a storyline and youve got it... christ we JOKED about ben being the one for that very reason... god bring back the writers who wrote the great storyline concluding in the revelation as to who was the father to michelles baby... now THATS how to write a 'whodunnit', shocking but realistic.

The BRITs 2010 ·
tbh id agree, but its still a case of which pile of manure do you prefer... objectively 'beat again' was a fair enough track but this new one is bloody dire, and is the sort of level i expect from them.. however ive been wrong before, 20 odd years ago id never have thought id respect take that and robbie.. not that im a fan or owt, but some of their material has been good pop.
-
The BRITs 2010 ·
eh?... thats not how i read it, wicky is refering to jls, not cowell and walsh.. i really dont think wicky would support cowell and walsh.
-
The BRITs 2010 ·
regardless, they used txf to gain fame, they became puppets for cowell/walsh (whichever svengali controls them... my interest is so low i dont know!). if they were really that good they would have made it without going on txf. they really arnt that good, mediocre singing, gimicky dance routines including back flips, nah...just a bunch of chavs. ok 'beat again' was an ok pop song but certainly nothing special, everything else so far has been bloody awful. they may be 'better' then others out of txf contest, but thats like saying 'which is best, dog $h!t or cow $h!t'... they are still $h!t.

12 yo writes on school desk, is handcuffed & taken to jail
i dunno .... clearly an example was being made here, and i was a victim of said example back in the 60's..lol.. on moving up to senior school, one very strict teacher deliberately over reacted to a minor misdomeanour within the first week, thus setting the standard and the clear message...no messing around in MY class. it worked, we thereafter all behaved and worked resulting in some very good exam results.

The BRITs 2010 ·
sick and tired of pre-packaged boybands created by cowell and or walsh.. try that. god they are odious enough let alone they arnt interested in music as an art form, but to them its all about making money, exploiting kids... its arseholes like them that have suffocated music .
-
The BRITs 2010 ·
nope, you made a point , tip in his post countered that point.

Emmerdale
great storylines atm.. (this chemical spill), but the authorities would have to clear it up, like, immediately! and this blaming ryan and faye for the dads disappearance is stupid...the mess is the dads fault, no one elses.

not at all... i rate 'bad romance' very highly, i reckon its a damn good near perfect pop song. i love the production and gaga executes it brilliantly. i didnt want to like the latest 'big thing' out of america .... but i cannot deny gaga's undeniable talents. good greif! goths listen to a-ha? eurythmics? even the respectable human league was never really 'goth'.. gimmie gaga over those tracks anyday .

UK Top 40 Singles - w/e 17 Feb 2001
i have alot of sympathy for this, it makes sense to us older posters, however buzzjacks membership is mainly under 25, 15 ten years ago ... so their knowlege of earlier music in most cases wouldnt be that great. (i know there are exceptions) plus many older buggers simply dont come on this site for retro... id like this forum to be thriving, but the facts are that generally retro isnt popular, and various eras have their own dedicated sites. many older fans stuck in 'their era' dont want to discuss/share outside their chosen patch.

UK Top 40 Singles - w/e 17 Feb 2001
modern releases by artists seen as 'retro' are sometimes discussed here, as long as its in context to retro by say comparing material then its ok. russt has a thread on alison moyets new album, trouble is no one really responded . i think this is where the true 'retro cut off ' is... its more about context. i think if a retro chart from say 02 was posted then referances to retro influences could be accepted whilst referances to the first girls aloud track wouldnt. i guess im making it a grey area, but i think by using our brains and posting relevant retro info then its ok.

great american tv shows on the main channels
oh i dont like falcon crest, colbys etc...the ONLY american soap ive ever liked was dallas. cant abide dynasty... thats the point though... they used to be family orientated, and just look how fashions have changed... when was the last time there was a good old fashioned western tv seriese? and cop dramas arnt mainstream now. i think its odd that american soaps, westerns and cop dramas used to be so popular but now just dont appear to be produced for the mass mainstream market.

thats harsh! .... reluctantly ive grown to quite like williams, hes a character, a showman, and has done some decent pop songs.. not cutting edge, nor particually original, but still ok.
