, so I see no reason why we should close a very fertile and active topic on this particular time's biggest media event. This is what we do on the "Perspectives" forum, we theorize, we speculate, we discuss....
but to do that we need FACTS, otherwise its all hot air. gossiping for the sake of it. this thread has become a nonsense, and we have all fallen into its spell. i cannot see what point there is speculating over what may or may not have occured when everyday discredits previous evidences. id suggest that for idle gossip, this thread should be moved to the lounge!

Witchcraft has always been a grey area. Its natural human instinct to believe in more then what we see. The 'unknown' (eg witchcraft, ghosts etc) dates back throughout all of written history and it has been and to this day still remains a constant in our world.
These so called people who have the ability to manipulate and change these 'energies' have withstood the test of time and persecutions from both religion and science, so perhaps there is some truth to their practice if it cannot be disproven completely.
For me personally I kinda believe, we all want to know more then what our limitations allow. So the belief in witchcraft/the unknown which is beyond our understanding will forever remain a strong surreal belief in many.
yeah... i kinda believe that its probably 99% hippy bollox but that there is possibly that theres a grain of truth within.

It is up to personal responsibility, no one forced the guy who committed suicide to enter that chatroom, he could also have left it at any time, people have to take responsibility for their own actions in life without being nannied and wetnursed all the time

yes it should, not so much to prevent suicides online but to help prevent paedos grooming kids who dont know any better

well, i dont think you can compare todays world with 60 years ago, we have so much more as part of our lives that the upper levels of wealth IS increasing whilst the lower end stays exactly there. im rich compared to my dad 40 years ago, but in reality is about the same.
so theres more oportunity to earn more as theres more to buy, but poverty is poverty, work shy scroungers will always be at the bottom of the pile.
it would worry me if no one could actually better themselves through hard work/study... if we were fixed in our positions, but we arnt.

if any global mod thinks its best left open and overrules me then thats fine, but until theres anything to actually DISCUSS as oposed to speculate then its served its purpose.

I disagree. It's probebly the most active thread ever in this forum, with great arguments etc, and who knows, something could emerge tomorrow clearing the McCanns of all, or charge them. It only seems to be the apperent evidence that they did do it that is flawed and constantly being proven as being so with each claim. This is the biggest news story there has been in years, so I don't think it should be closed. Someone will probebly set up a new thread if it gets closed anyway :lol:
And this thread is VERY sensible compared to those on the Mirror's forum. The people on there seem to be completelly over the top beyond belief and not very intelligent. Most seem to really actually hate the McCanns, and strike me as being very sad individuals. Most are planning to boycott the 'Virgin' brand because of what Richard Branson has done and are calling him sick etc, and how they will never fly or buy anything Virgin again, I mean honestly. do these people have no lives ffs. :rolleyes:
im more concerned about the quality of threads rather then the quantity, it may be the biggest ever thread in here but most of it is utter nonsense (i include myself in this criticism too)

but it IS if its based on flawed evidence, if the ever changing facts are wrong then anything based on them is hot air.
i fully agree though that their (zeuss, tip) well researched, intelligent posts are what the forums about, but they are getting swamped out by kids discrediting or not understanding the points made.
