naughty jark, just gave away a spoiler! aww..i missed it... never mind.
  4. the easybeats had 1 major hit here in '66 with 'friday on my mind', they released a string of others that failed to impact on our charts... will look them up when ive time.
  5. it was played on radio 1 yesterday as part of that cotton bints 'music generator' .... this (amongst other kb tracks) are sheer quality and tbh (without sounding too old) highlight just how poor todays female artistes are. but thats not hard, kb is our best ever female artiste.
  6. ill admitt to being disappointed in their material. i have no beef with them per-se, i unexpectedly liked girls aloud, and early sugababes, i was kinda hoping the hype surrounding the sats was real. its really no skin of my nose whether they are around for years or months. ive said before (which some people conveiniantly forget) that ill be happy for the sats to produce a damn good pop song, i liked 'forever is over' but tbh its not worn well. being dropped is a reality, im not fussed either way, i like good pop music from whoever its from.

    caine :)
  12. ...thats why im a mod and chris is .... nothing. lucky to still be here. there was NOTHING in my posts here that was inflamitory or argumentitive, but you arse licking fanboys just want to sit around genuflecting your wrists to the sight of these pretty ordinary performers without addressing the issues just makes for a pretty lame forum. my points are vallied.
  13. that is simply not true... you got all arsey by replying to my post in an unnessecary manner, saying i was 'spouting $h!t' but when i correctly challenged you assertions you couldnt answer them! ffs all i did was question YOUR figures YOU quoted, because they are FLAWED , and you accused me of 'spouting $h!t'...

more quality drama from the dales, great storyline with caine winding up nathan/natasha/declan... :)
  16. put the youtube code, after the = in [] them brackets with youtube in the first and /youtube in the second set of brackets either side of that code. :) split enz had a hit here with 'i got you', thats how i know them but am not familiar with their other releases
  17. nope thats why i said 'its all guesswork'. i did not state anything as a fact there,i was questioning what you wrote AS FACT, and you re-itterated it in this post dispite saying you didnt state things 'as fact' ! i didnt bring up the girls aloud comparison, that was YOU! and just which bit was i 'spouting $h!t'? challenging your assertions? you have been unreasonable and aggressive towards me in this thread for no other reason then personal prejudice. i think this needs brining to the attention of admin.
  18. unfit to mod...
  19. im not saying that allowing downloads didnt effect physical sales, but downloads were partly allowed BECAUSE they were going on and were not being included in the official sales. we will never know just how many switched to downloads from buying pysical sales, but we DO know that the download sales/illegals are not included in that girls aloud statistic.
  20. its all guesswork regarding sales/downloads...of course youd overlooked that bit when you were telling me to 'do my research'...clearly you didnt! so youre bound to 'equate loss of physical sales to the rise in downloads' but in reality, thats a guess and we will never know. so you are saying definitively that the sales of girls aloud records went up from 2008 onwards BECAUSE of cheryl cole on txf... (i thought she had only done 2009... but im not a viewer nor fan). thats a pretty bold statement that cannot be varified or proven. it might just be that recent singles are simply BETTER then older ones.. and cheryl cole has been constantly in the media for the past few years, id suggest that thats also a contributory factor, and not solely down to her being on txf. so id suggest that im not the only one spouting $h!t, because your claims are totally unsupportable being an opinion , not fact.

like fiesta said... you didnt really know that at the time just how important/good certain movements were.. i WAS around in the punk/new wave/new romantic era but my social circumstances at the time didnt really allow me to indulge in it as much as i would have done if i had a different set of friends. at the time i didnt understand (tbh i dont think many did) the importance that would resonate through the coming years. id been into pop since a boy in the 60's, pop and all its new fads werent taken too seriously, it was pop ffs! i dont think the true value of the mid 60's , the punk era, rave/madchester etc was understood at the time.
  22. how comparable are those sales figures? downloads now account towards 'official' sales figures as i dont think they did back when g/a started out. i suspect that including early downloads g/a would easily outstrip the sats sales wise. im not sure just how much influence txf has had on g/a, not a big viewer but hasnt cheryl only just done 1 season? so how can that be much of a factor? and yes...in response to your original question, they do appear to have done it again. same old same old, historically acts that dont evolve their sound dont last long. by 7 songs everyone knew who girls aloud were, the same cant be said for the sats. IF they have sacked their manager then thats a good sign, they need someone in control who can exploit their strengths.
  23. maybe, but on the other hand it didnt matter, we would have won without that goal! :P
