not so sure you can lay the blame squarely at the feet of the daily mail. all im hearing of the tv news is a sickening whinge from obama, saying (unconvincingly) how hes gonna 'kick ass' <_< . yes its an unmittigated disaser, yes bp is responsible but yes bp are doing everything they can to sort this accident.

i created this over on ds...but thought it might be appreciated here.. we will see 'is todays music as good as in the past', its a theme that often crops up. as an oldie, id like to champion the year 2003, as imho it was the best chart year for decades. ive chosen ten tracks which to me show that modern music (i know, its 7 years ago, but to me its yesterday! lol) is still as good and varied as it ever was. :) 1 Queens of the Stoneage - Go with the flow. ... a track that imho is one of the very best rock tracks to hit our charts. id suggest it stands up against the great tracks from the past. 2 Outkast - Hey ya .... a smashing 60's-esque pastiche of american soul/pop, very ike turner or sly stone. a damn good pop track, iconic video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wl6R8u6Zus 3 Blu Cantrell - Breathe ... even sean paul cant spoil this classic bit of blues/soul. what a great voice, pity she couldnt follow this up. 4 White Stripes - 7 Nation army ... raw blues, guitar very clapton, beck or hendrix, like. as good as anthing john mayalls bluesbreakers created? possibly, a damn respectable second if not! 5 Goldfrapp - Train ... modern electro pop at its best? i think so. i cant fault this. 6 Avril Lavigne - Im with you ... the queen of teenage angst? im impressed by her early work and this heartfelt track is just about as good as it gets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW2LTnzD-vE 7 DJ Sammy - Sunlight ... 'the sound of the balearics' as he discibes himself. i agree! this example of dance (commercial trance?) is the sound of summer, the mediterrainian, fits the sunshine isles perfectly. 8 Richard x vs Kelis - Finest Dreams ... an intelligent use of sampling and marrying two tracks. sos bands 'the finest' and the human leagues album track off 'dare' 'the things dreams are made of'. 9 Pharrel Williams - Frontin ... one of the best r n b examples of recent years. i like the soulfull vocals set against a gentle track. 10 Scooter - Maria (i like it loud) ... marmite, love then or hate them, i like their hardcore 'in yer face' unescapeable beats. the audience at their gigs look like they are really having fun. so there you have it, a collection of imho classic pop music, variety, and id suggest as good as anything from the past!

hey! im happy being sad if i enjoy abit of light relief at the end of a working day, im happy being sad sat next to my 21 year old girlfriend/fiancee...:lol: if i want light entertainment. isnt it real life?...oh my, you mean emmerdale doesnt exist? its not a reality show? a documentary?...god how will i ever live my life now! :rofl: i object to football taking over the schedules... why i should have to find something else on another channel, the big 4 are home to 'continuous dramas'. why should my schedule be messed about with for some moronic footy match? you just know the players shoe size is greater then their iq (no doubt though youll now go to great lengths to prove this isnt true...and im sad?) :lol: footy itself is nearly bareable, but its the pundits, examining the match, the supporters who are one step up from the missing link ... (god i bet fruit sellers do well on match days)... the package i hate my lad just came in... (yeah im sad, i got 3 great kids) asked if i was going to watch en ger land in the pub with everyone (neighbourhood)... that is my idea of hell. id sooner go to new york (i hate the thought).

a poor episode in many ways, weddings usually are, as said caines daft bhaviour, that nonsense about rhonas untidiness, but even so the guys in the show are great. aaron, ryan, andy, marlon, paddy, jackson, bob ... nice little spat going on with mard-arse marlon and bob.. :)

footy aint every 4 years though ethan... its every effing week! i hate the way normal schedues have been disrupted to air a booorrring footy match, ESPECIALLY when its not even us playing! theres plenty of channels on tv now, footy doesnt HAVE to dominate the main channels until 'we' are near the final (which i hope we will never be). i detest footy even more then anything cowell has done....

oh hes just sounding off to look good, <_< , it was by all accounts an ACCIDENT and accidents happen. americas ecconomy is largely built on oil, sooner or later this was going to happen. im not worried about its effects on our ecconomy, in fact, its a good time to BUY shaes in bp as they will return to the higher levels.
