think I prefer her then.... anyone else notice similaritties to early Freddie Mercury (before he had his trademark tash!) :o interesting that she then takes her name from the Queen classic Radio Ga Ga oops sorry.. off topic
  4. Sadly 287k in UK but at least we're not as deaf as the US market where she'll sell 390k. Am I the only one who can't bear to listen to her vile, grating, wailing voice ?
  5. Total sales is an ok indicator for any given time period but it makes comparing songs across decades tricky due to overall changes to total sales. Perhaps use a singles total sales over its time in the top 75 compared to the average top 75 chart single sales over the same period. So: Quality = SALES during stay in top 75 divided by average sales for same period. An 'average' song will have a value of 1. Poorly performing songs will have values below 1. best songs will be the higest number but always above 1 Only trouble is someone needs to supply the total sales for the period (ie every week since records began !!!) so we can devide it by 75 to get the average sales

 knew someone would see through my attempt to blame a poor (by Shakira's high standards) performance on a technical problem

And if the sound engineers had sorted her Mic volume out she might even be higher. i've heard they adjust the volume down for Jedward's mics so backing singers/track is louder than they are. I wonder if they accidently did the same to Shak :(

And were you at Hackney to see her perform it live......... no thought not. Awesome performance IMO.But Brave was better I thought. Please don't say you are 'just being honest' when really you are just expressing your opinion, which is surely what this forum is all about
  16. So most the year i'm reading posts in BJ about bad single sales, albums are poor this month etc etc. Sales have been higher than ever these past few weeks. reason, yes we all know, XFactor. Surely as a chart based forum that should be celebrated by all. and any haters who say it makes the charts predictable should review the battle for No1 this last week. Over 60% of us got that wrong !!

guess I'll have to wait for the midweek chart updates then :-( thanks Britster, saves me keep searching for something that doesn't exist !!

Can anyone get the pop bars for Albums ? I've found Leona is No1 ahead of Robbie and BEP but can't find out the difference, how close it is ?

To say it was tosh means you must have watched it. If you didn't watch it then you can't comment on the quality or otherwise ! Oh and whats xFactor and UK taste in music and entertainment got to do with MJ ?

EDIT: just checked Rihanna is, Alicia is the Sunday she's set to perform on X Factor . Maybe we could see Alicia get her long awaited first number 1 :o Do hope so. The song is gorgeous. Funny how we have 2 high profile songs about NYC (JaY Z and AK) out almost together... oh and don't forget the other one by (a new artist to me) Paloma Faith. What is it with New York at the moment

So Spirit (deluxe) had a cover of Run and now we have an Oasis cover on Echo. what would be a good rock candidate for her to cover on next one ??! how about Led Zep stairway to heaven ? Or Queens Bo Rap....... operatic bit in the middle would be right up her street !!
  22. From Heart FM: See Leona on Tour Leona Lewis has announced the dates for her first arena tour. The X-Factor star and multi-million selling artist will be playing at the O2 Arena on June 12th and 14th 2010. Full tour dates below. Tickets go on sale on Friday 27th November at 9.30am For tickets you should call 0115 934 488. Leona's thoughts on touring "I can't wait to get out on tour and see everyone, I’m really looking forward to putting on a great show. I had such a fun night at my recent show at the Hackney Empire and it’s given me a real taste for it. I tried the number but its dead at the moment. I guess need to be an O2 phone users to stand any chance of getting tickets as they get them 2 days in advance of the rest of us mere mortals :-(

MMH vs Happy. Very close on iTunes and BEP are catching slowly and could end up with iTunes no1 with combined sales on iTunes but when it comes to the official sales chart, other download sites and physicals are included. Does anyone have any info from the other sites ? and physical sales to-date ? Will Leona fair better in physicals come the weekend considering MMH is available on album so punters perhaps will buy the album rather than the single. could account for, what 5-10% of sales ?
  24. GaGa and/or RiRi have a really good chance of No1 as they both doing Xfactor. couple of weeks time I think. SuBo is on the week the finalist do their charity single performance in case she can't cope with being on with any real stars. Shakira could be a surprise No1 (or at least top 5) with Did It Again with her performance this Sunday on XF
