Thanks Ben. i'd sort of worked it out from reading back over and looking at past charts etc but just wanted clarification. I wonder what effect the X Factor factor can have on an unreleased song next week (Shakira's, Did it Again) ? oops sorry straying off topic...... I should move this into next weeks thread !

Can anyone please answer me a question or 2 ! Within itunes you can download individual album tracks and these sometime appear in the itunes pop bars and itunes chart. Is this a correct assumption on my part ? If 1 such track was very popular on iTunes but had not been released as a single at the time can it chart in the 'proper' chart or is it didcounted from main chart until such time that it is released as an official single ? Apologies Ben if this is slightly off topic but didn't know where to ask ? But I didn't add any smilies !

i think the X Factor factor will have worn off with a release date 4 weeks later. album will benefit and the track itself will shoot up iTunes into top5 maybe even higher but I'm assuming as its not released it can't chart in official singles chart as a result of iTunes sales ?

Really upset by what i saw on AGT. Shakira mimiming/lip-syncing. surely not. I am struggling to understand why. Britney came on x factor or BGT not long back and lip-synced and it was awful and she was rightly criticised heavily for it. The same is likely to happen to Shakira ? It's a talent show and all the acts sing/dance live, Leona sung live (as always) and SuBo was live (but not good imo). Where has Shak's usual performing integrity gone ? I'm still in shock. I cling to the possibility that the reason it was mimed was that the show could or would not have her band on so it had to be a backing track. anyway, you are of course forgiven immediately Shakira, just please don't do it again !! :wub:

So much good new music out there and coming up...... Shak's She Wolf, Leona's Happy, The Saturdays, Beyonce.... to name but a few. I'm predicting Shewolf will hover for a while in or close to top 5 until after Jonathan Ross Friday week then go No 1. Anyway even if it doesn't, Gypsy will if she releases that. New albums from Shaki and Leona in next few weeks and Christina's is imminent. Can't wait

absolutely love Gypsy. Only Shakira could get the line 'only run with scissors if you want to get hurt' into a song ! just as quirky as the coffee machine comparison in She Wolf. Why Wait is tailor made for Shak's unique dancing style..... another 2 or 3 minutes of the drumming at the end when done live would be a treat :D

don't get me wrong please, I think it's just not my taste. I strongly believe that the song will be the song of the summer in Uk and Europe and a mega hit. It's unique and fresh, as all Shaki's songs are and will appeal to the whole dance scene and this time likely to capture the gay scene too. Look out Kylie and Britney !! Number 1 in UK and I bet lots of other places too !

If my maths is correct and this list covers all songs from 2000 onwards then we have had 10 years worth at the end of this year and in those 10 years 200 songs have sold 300K plus. Thats an average of 20 per year making the top 200. This year however we are only just half way through and already we have 43 entries in there. This surely reflects the upturn in single sales as a result of itunes (and related sites). Or just how poor sales were just a few years ago !! Or it could be that the music is just so much better now.... but somehow I don't believe that :unsure: yippee 100 posts !! Only a few thousand more to catch up with some of you guys.

Don't think I'm gonna like it. :( Sounds too disco/electro-pop type. I like the more rocky and sensual ballads side of her music. This seems to be an extension of the Ready for the Good Times theme from ages ago. But I still love Shaki and can't wait to hear a proper HQ version.... and I'll be the first in the queue to get the album when it comes out ! :wub:

having said that though the words do match with lyrics from Shakira.com !! And they have given the title on her website so I must just be paranoid :unsure:

I keep listening to the clip. thats NOT Shaki singing. Maybe backing vocalists ? Or are we all being taken for a ride by a massive scam and this is nothing to do with new single at all and the She Wolf thing is all one big hoax ? Someone mentioned in a thread somewhere they thought the production waslnot as professional and tight as what we've come to expect and love with Shaki's music......... just a thought ? I guess we'll find out on Monday !!

Anybody hear the Super Estrella transmission who could translate to english the gist of the discussion. Sounded like a mickey-take as there was a lot of laughing and shouting with occasional wolf howls, but I could have been wrong

I've been listening. Around 20 past 2 they were talking about Shakira and She Wolf...... then played part of Animal City. Missed a bit after that so don't know if it was played or not. didn't understand anything much else they were saying as my Spanish is sadly limited (well actually pretty much non existent !)

Anyone know whats happening with official Shaki site ? It just comes up as shakira.com coming soon. I'm guessing its being re-launched with new single and album promo in mind......
