Love Lily and agree sales at that level at the time of year, brilliant. Shame Simon Coward doesn't release a leona album away from Christmas and X-Factor time, see how much she sells then. Personally I think it may drop her sales by a maximum of 50% and all the "its only because of XFactor she is selling" brigade would have to shutup as that would give her a very respectable figure for that time (In a way its what happened with GA and enabled them to 'break' the PSTR tag.) Of course this will never happen as SC wants $$$$$$$s so we'll never know <_<

Fair points and I agree. No other real way to highlight that Leona does have a huge fan base still (sadly, otherwise I could have her all to myself !!) in response to some of the shouts of 'flop!' from a minority on here. Hasn't done so well as Spirit when she was 'all the rage', she is no longer 'of the moment' so does not pick up the 'fans of XF' purchases, they are busy with JLS and Cheryl. don't think Syco would have expected anything much more. Hats off to Robbie though for his sales

Found the figures in Mikey's week by week stats (nice one Mikey): Top 10 weekly sales this year (rounded): 1 JLS 240k 2 Robbie 238k 3 Eminem 167k 4 U2 157k 5 Muse 148k 6 Alex burke 132k 7 Cheryl cole 125k 8 Michael J 113k 9= Lily Allen 112k 9= Michael buble 112k So LL selling above 112k will put her in top 10 fastest selling album artists this year. Hardly what you'd expect from a 'flop' !!

love RyanJL's comment on this earlier The dwindling UK fanbase that is still bigger than all but a few 'of the moment' UK only acts (JLS, Cheryl) and of course Robbie (a national institution by now !!) For a global star to maintain such a powerful base is truly a reflection of her abilities and appeal. perhaps someone with access to the figures could list the top 10 first week album sales this year ? see if a pop star who you imply is a flop will appear in that list ? :P

Didn't Mikey ask that we don't have a repeat of last week and keep it on topic ? :offtopic: Sorry Mikey. But while we are off topic......... My meaning and that of 7thdreamer (I assume) who I was agreeing with is that XF audience now have new toys (Cheryl, JLS and the XFF for example) and Leona is treated now by the XF fans as just another artist whether she appears on the show for publicity (as Beyonce, Shakira, Robbie, BEP, Bubble and loads of others) or not. She is no longer 'of the moment' for XF fans so sales will be lower.... similar to other artists but boosted by good promo oppurtunities.

Couldn't agree more. LL has moved away from XF and is now an accepted mainstream talent. Sales will reflect this and the hard work needed to stay ahead of the game really kicks in. Kelly Clarkson's another good example. XF audience now have Cheryl and all the teenage girls have JLS now that Westlife and Take that are all grown up !!

And if the sound engineers had sorted her Mic volume out she might even be higher. i've heard they adjust the volume down for Jedward's mics so backing singers/track is louder than they are. I wonder if they accidently did the same to Shak :(

XFF singing (nicely) re-hashed MJ song selling at 3.99 vs a new song from current 'popular masses' favourite Cheryl selling for 79-99p ? I can see how one sold more than the other :P good sales all round though. Anyone compared to same time last year ?

Glad the masses aren't buying Shakira following X factor..... the less fans she has the more chance of me getting a ticket for her tour next year. Leona album sales will pick up saturday with the Christmas shoppers. I'm guessing she should reach 250k by sunday?

So most the year i'm reading posts in BJ about bad single sales, albums are poor this month etc etc. Sales have been higher than ever these past few weeks. reason, yes we all know, XFactor. Surely as a chart based forum that should be celebrated by all. and any haters who say it makes the charts predictable should review the battle for No1 this last week. Over 60% of us got that wrong !!

guess I'll have to wait for the midweek chart updates then :-( thanks Britster, saves me keep searching for something that doesn't exist !!

Can anyone get the pop bars for Albums ? I've found Leona is No1 ahead of Robbie and BEP but can't find out the difference, how close it is ?
