^ we need TSWaBH on the A-playlists NOW !! knock GaGa off the top and put our angel voiced Queen of NY back where she belongs.
  3. I not long ago bought her first 3 albums (HMV 2 for £10 for 2 of them !!) so don't think I can justify getting this. Wish I had had more patience then I could have had this instead of the seperate ones, just didn't know about it til last week :( love the packaging too. Could this hit top10 on the back of Element ? all the 'new' fans and ones like me who always liked her singles but never quite got hooked enough to buy her albums ? (Doesn't Mean Anything and then Empire State did it for me !)

I wasn't expecting this............. From the Glastonbury website (http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/news/shakira-added-to-2010-line-up) : We're delighted to announce that Colombian pop superstar Shakira has been added to the line-up for this year's Festival. She will appear on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday of the Festival (June 26th). Says Emily Eavis: "Shakira is not only an amazing pop star but also socially and politically forward thinking; she's working incredibly hard for good causes around the world. We feel honoured to have the she wolf herself come to Worthy Farm!" Says Shakira: "I'm really looking forward to playing Glastonbury this year and being a part of their 40th anniversary. Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I'm sure I'll have a great time." For more information on Shakira, head to shakira.com. Best wait until May24th when she releases platinum collection which will be her first 3 albums all together. Though buying the earlier albums individually in the 2 for a tenner in HMV may still work out cheaper !!
  8. It's Ok. It's not awesome but it's not bad......... Average then as Jonjo said. Of course all these songs could be unfinished !?! The beat of this reminds me of Shak's Did It Again, dunno why, just does especially at beginning. And in places there's some violin(?) 'flurries' that remind me of the ending of a Dido song (But i can't remember which one !) i'm loving Whole lotta love though......... I'm old enough to remember that being the ToTP theme
  9. And the Bahamas :D

EoF is probably the 'easiest' to listen to and like (think maybe thats its comercialism) Very upbeat, happy all love songs and the like with a real 'feel good mood' about them. This is Alicia, not only matured as an artist, but freed of constraints (her own ? the record labels? her producers ? us ?) to produce a particular sound or type of music. hence the title. As I am was much 'darker', more intense and as AAC said pure soulful R&B. This does not make either album better or worse but each with their time and purpose. Diary was an excellent follow-up to songs in A minor, lyrically probably her most complex but less dark than As I am and much more mature than Songs. takes a good few listens to fully appreciate but I rate it very highly. Songs is a brilliant debut album but has weaknesses but also some bloody good tracks. As HMV have 2 for a tenner I'd suggest As I Am and Diary. But do go back and get Songs in A Minor too as it is very good. :D
  11. i rated the tracks weeks ago and I've still been listening to the album and I have to say I wish I'd given distance and time more. it's really grown on me.
  12. I predict: 1 TSWABH 2 PIIALS 3 ESOM(PII) Could be proved wrong though........ Hurry up Theo :P !!

  16. i posted up a request for it a couple of months back when EoF reached #1. thought it fitting we should have a forum in honour of her first UK number 1. I tried to spread the word and we were doing ok, but slowly, and were in danger of running out of time but then Jonjo and Martin got started and the votes really started to roll in. We ended up with 53 yeses, though one was discounted due to an IP issue (2 votes from same PC I'm guessing !). all the details still in the forum request thread. anyways we got what we wanted :cheer:
  17. I can't figure out how to paste a screenshot of the error (maybe we can't ?) but when clicking on any of the Alicia artist page links, like on the site homepage( not the forum links) the error txt reads: See if you can figure this out from the sadly small ammount of info I can provide :-( BuzzJack - Entertainment Discussion _ Artists _ No Artist Site Message Sorry, an error occurred. ^ yeah that last comment of mine was maybe a bit hasty....... there are other very very good singers out there, some better than Christina. I just haven't heard them but have heard Katherine Jenkins. Historically yes there have been many top class singers.... Whitney, Mariah, Etta James amongst others but none of these are currently able to sing as well as they once did.
  19. who do we report the artist page link problem to ? Jonjo ? or is this one for Martin or Jester ? edit: or should I PM stuff like this ? Please delete the thread if I'm being bad or if its fixed

Can the few people who think Christina and Britney can be compared please grow up and listen. The vocals are a class apart now. Though i have to say this track doesn't show it well. But to suceed in the singles charts these days you have to produce club/dance music or you won't get number one. BTW the circus theme that Britney (and Take That) adopted was first aired on Christina's Back to Basics tour a year or 2 earlier. Buy Help for Haiti (its a worthy cause :-) ) and listen to the live vocal on Christina's Lift Me Up. GA, Lady GaGa, Britney, Florence. La Roux, Pixie beat that !! (Katherine Jenkins is the only singer i know who could touch it !!)

think I agree with NickF1 (against my better judgement !!)........... not impressed ?? Love Christina to bits but what is this song meant to be ??

This is club, gay, dance, disco stuff. Not what I love Christna for. Give me the vocal brilliance of Stripped and Back to Basics. Oh and the best of Chris................ "lift me up" that she did on Help for Haiti telethon
