  1. I only just found this RnB forum (thanks Jonjo Gleek ). Didn't know where there was any AK chat and had just put in an Alicia forum request. Just a thought ? To honour her first UK #1 album ? Don't want to detract from the RnB forum so maybe we shouldn't have a seperate one for Alicia. Perhaps you guys could post comment on the request thread whether you agree or not. Give the 'management' something to base their yes/no decision on ? Request is here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107137

how do we go about requesting an artist page please ? I would like to see an Alicia page now that she has surely scored her first UK #1 album. What does everyone think ?

Leona comes in for lots of stick because she was part of the menacingly dangerous cowell machine that unleashes havoc upon the UK every year  Echo is a brilliant album, just takes a few more listens than her ealier stuff to really appreciate it. think people call them 'slow growers' ?

Spotted the upset Oasis fan  We had a bunch of upset Snow Patrol fans last year but at least they had the sense not to suggest Leona can't sing. Get your ears checked Paul. :P

Please enlighten us Six ? who has influenced GaGa (apart from Freddie of course who she is a pretty close female version of !!) And who is Christina's big influence ? i have her down as having many influences and deliberately choose some for her Back to Basic album to highlight the brilliance of music back in the day

I suggested that earlier as at least its a Christmas song but got shouted down as it was also involving XFactor so that would be no good !!

You are of course right about george Michael being on XFactor and thus making the most of the publicity afforded him. but surely it is this kind of publicity for established or semi-retired artists that makes the Christmas chart the most unpredictable of the year (with the obvious exception of the number1). Did anyone fancy their chances of predicting the songs that would make up the remainder of the top10 before Saturday or Sunday's show ?

And according to these RATM muppets we're the ignorant childish idiots for not joining in <_<

Agree whole heartedly. The Rage campaign was badly thought out and missed the whole point of Christmas no1. the supporters argue we are all spoon fed what to buy by Simon cowell but following such a campaign makes then no different, being told what to buy and going along with it like sheep. Not a fan of George Michael but hey its a Christmas song so Go George go :P
  10. indeed you are correct, I agree, any songs that were copies of originals then yes we (people) have them. Often though we only have the studio version and I'm sure no- one will argue here that music sung live is so much more real. The show gave millions access to a few songs they may never have heard live. whether that should translate into huge winners single sales etc is debatable (And I doubt I'd be able to argue the case in favour!). My support of XFactor is as a live music entertainment show when for most of the year we have nothing. I would loved to have watched more of Glastonbury but the TV scheduing and promotion was crap and difficult to follow when shows were on or whether they were repeats.
  11. No,can;t stand the wnner this year personally. he won't have a career hopefully. Just strugling with peoples hatred of a music entertainment show on TV when we have so few of them these days....... unless anyone wants to include Royal Variety show !!!??. instead of having a go at anyone who disagreed with him perhaps Grimly should start his own TV show and show Sinon how its done ? maybe we could all enjoy the alternative and choose which to watch and support, no ?
  12. Good luck with your hopeless campaigne. Too many people on this thread name calling and insulting anyone with differing views from their own. we are all ignorant for enjoying the best night of live music on 'mormal' telly for years. What a brilliant shw Simon Cowell and X Factor put on tonight. At least 5 songs will be top ten in the Christmas chrts next week. Love it. get yourselves a TV show for for your rage and see if you can get so much public support. public support is what buys records and that is what this forum is all about.
  13. Love the Si Cowell picture Bert  I've given up here too. Forums are for all sorts of things but mostly for healthy debate. A good debate has no winners. Some people here seem to be obsessed with 'winning' whatever arguement they start. And to Slick and mr self destruct, I was not in the least offended personally. I swear as good as the rest of you but choose not to when it may offend others less broadminded or easily influenced (ie in front of Children). Guests to this Forum may look at a thread like this and decide BJ not for them and thus we miss the oppurtunity to converse with a broad diversity of people. the more members the Forum has the better, surely ? (Whether they swear or not in normal day-to-day life) Back on topic now. I would love to see the Muppets Christmas #1 but also have no problem with it being a SyCo produced 'karaoke' singer.... the public decides and thats what makes the charts such an interesting topic of discussion
  14. Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that you had submitted anything wrong, far from it. I think maybe I worded it badly  I was just worried with Mods and Editor in the thread I might get blocked for speaking out of turn as a mere 'loon' member
  15. I just scrolled through and it seems we have 2 mods, 1 Global Mod and an Editor contributions in this thread. me and my big mouth  Nice knowing you all !
  16. This thread shows a very poor example being set to guests visiting this forum along with probably a number of members.(Swearing and personal attacks along with slightly un-PC metaphors that are open to mis-interpretation) Who is the mod for this thread ? If they cannot see anything wrong then maybe it should be referred to an Admin to review ? Will I get blocked for speaking out ? Am I in the minority here ?
  17. Spot on :) Thanks for posting Sony to 'win' either way
  18. Something very wrong with this thread. when a 'member' has to ask a 'Mod' to moderate their language. The vitriolic statements comparing Simon C to Hitler and co are unnecessary. Some of us get a lot of enjoyment out of the TV shows Simon puts together and appreciate watching and listening to talented performers and singers (and of course, some who are less so !) It's a free country we live in (just) so we can choose what we like and what we want. Simon does not have any power to prevent that. unlike the people he was being compared to had.
  19. Can anyone post Peter a 'chart run' history for Dido's singles ? maybe it would help him ( and stop him asking Dido questions on the chart and iTunes threads :P ) If it helps this is a list (complete to my knowledge ?). BTW Loved her early stuff but not a great fan of her last album. Here With Me Thank You  Hunter All you Want White flag life for Rent Don't leave Home Sand in my Shoes Don't believe in love

Hee hee :D Glad its not just me having fun with Peter's Dido questions, he really has started something :P I don't think I'd ever get bored of that :naughty:

Go Alicia :-) Deserves a number 1. Really nice song. Doubt she will though :-(

she's pretty big in Russia and middle east and huge in Mexico (amongst many other places). not many UK or US acts can boast the same. And she has also done some songs in Portugese so that helps with the Brazilian market too. I'm trying to think of somewhere she is little known but can't at the moment though I'm not sure she's done much in the Chinese or Japanese market (biggest in the world currently ?)

Agreed 100% Shakira is truly global but struggles in the UK for the recognition she deserves Even a littl bit of Dido in there for you Peter.......... on Eminem's Stan
  25. how about winner doing a cover of White Flag.......... it would make PeterJB's day, a Dido song back in the charts :heehee: or perhaps everyone not involved with XFactor should release their own versions of White Flag, a symbol of their surrender of the Christmas number 1 spot to X Factor forever
