  1. Ah - that would explain it (apols - I hadn't seen that it was only from 2002 onwards.) Keep up the good work!
  2. Surely this should be much, much higher up the list? I recall seeing a MW report putting it in the top 5 most played tracks of the noughties.

I always think back to 1988, and Kylie Minogue's incredible unlucky runs at No 2 with four consecutive singles: - Got To Be Certain - peaked at No 2 (3 consecutive weeks) without ever getting to No 1 (damn you, Wet Wet Wet! :banghead: ) - The Loco-Motion - entered and peaked at No 2 (4 consecutive weeks) without ever getting to No 1 (damn you, Yazz! :banghead: ) - Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi - peaked at No 2 (3 consecutive weeks) without ever getting to No 1 (damn you, Enya! :banghead: ) - Especially For You (duet with Jason Donovan) - entered and peaked at No 2 (4 consecutive weeks) (damn you Cliff Richard! :banghead: ), but then finally reached No 1 in the first chart of 1989, and the following two weeks.
  4. It sounds a bit like 'Summer Of Love' played at the wrong speed (slowed down.) I much preferred 'One For Sorrow' and 'Love's Got a Hold On My Heart'...
  5. 'Kylie' by Kylie Minogue in late 1989 (to replace the cassette version)
  6. Have there not been any million selling albums by men? :o ;)
  7. It's still top 40 this week (#37), and selling relatively well. In fact, with 220,000+ sales already in the UK (apparently) it must now be approaching the top ten biggest selling Kylie singles in the UK (maybe someone can confirm?), and will surely get there over the next month or two? I'm just a little bit :( that there wasn't a proper CD release to sit alongside the others in my collection.
  8. I went to see the 'Let's Get To It' tour back in 1991, and also the 'ShowGirl Greatest Hits' tour of 2005 (both concerts were in Manchester) but the price of tickets (plus all the associated booking fees etc) is now so extortionate, and therefore I am not going along to see this tour, or probably any tour in the future. I will be keeping an eye out for a DVD release though.
  9. Remind us - how many did singles did ATL sell in the UK (it can't be too many more than 300k, I would think?)
  10. It's sticking at #12 in the latest midweeks. I have a feeling that the lack of a CD release may mean that there continues to be a longer chart run based on downloads alone.
  11. It does seem to be holding up very well in terms of chart position and sales (perhaps another 30k+ this week?) It might even end up outselling All The Lovers at this rate? Just think what it might've achieved with a accompanying CD release.
  12. IMO, the only thing that Travie McCoy adds to the three-way version of the track is another eleven letters to the combined artist name. I much prefer the two-way Taio/Kylie version that has been doing the rounds on the music video channels since before Christmas.
  13. I must still be missing one somewhere then - there were 33 listed in my previous post, plus Higher = 34 (I wasn't counting her contributions to the two charity records either)
  14. 35th? MW reports today that it is Kylie's 34th top ten single, and everyhit.com seems to confirm that there have been 33 previously, not including Higher, which isn't yet listed on there. ------------------------- 1 Kylie Minogue I Should Be So Lucky Jan 1988 Notes 2 Kylie Minogue Got To Be Certain May 1988 2 Kylie Minogue The Loco-Motion Aug 1988 Notes 2 Kylie Minogue Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi Oct 1988 1 Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan Especially For You Dec 1988 1 Kylie Minogue Hand On Your Heart May 1989 2 Kylie Minogue Wouldn't Change A Thing Aug 1989 4 Kylie Minogue Never Too Late Nov 1989 1 Kylie Minogue Tears On My Pillow Jan 1990 Notes 2 Kylie Minogue Better The Devil You Know May 1990 4 Kylie Minogue Step Back In Time Nov 1990 6 Kylie Minogue What Do I Have To Do Feb 1991 6 Kylie Minogue Shocked Jun 1991 4 Kylie Minogue & Keith Washington If You Were With Me Now Nov 1991 2 Kylie Minogue Give Me Just A Little More Time Jan 1992 2 Kylie Minogue Confide In Me Sep 1994 1 Kylie Minogue Spinning Around Jul 2000 2 Kylie Minogue On A Night Like This Sep 2000 2 Robbie Williams & Kylie Minogue Kids Oct 2000 10 Kylie Minogue Please Stay Dec 2000 1 Kylie Minogue Can't Get You Out Of My Head Sep 2001 Notes 3 Kylie Minogue In Your Eyes Mar 2002 2 Kylie Minogue Love At First Sight Jun 2002 Notes 8 Kylie Minogue Come Into My World Nov 2002 1 Kylie Minogue Slow Nov 2003 5 Kylie Minogue Red Blooded Woman Mar 2004 6 Kylie Minogue Chocolate Jul 2004 2 Kylie Minogue I Believe In You Dec 2004 6 Kylie Minogue Giving You Up Apr 2005 4 Kylie Minogue 2 Hearts Nov 2007 5 Kylie Minogue Wow (re-entry) Jan 2008 10 Kylie Minogue In My Arms May 2008 3 Kylie Minogue All The Lovers Jun 2010 + 'Higher'

  16. Although Step Back In Time was a great single, it was, in my opinion anyway, marginally the weakest of a very strong set of four from the Rhythm Of Love album. I would usually plump for a SAW production, and if it were either What Do I Have To Do or Shocked, I would have voted for them. However, given the choice at hand, I would say that All The Lovers just edges it over Step Back In Time.
  17. I suspect that the 'big' announcement may have more to do with acting, than music.

Sadly not a top 75 hit, but 'Living Legend' was the theme to one of the Roland Rat (BBC?) TV shows, and was released as a single from an LP of the same name. It had rather a Mel & Kim vibe (remember them?) - can you tell who produced it?: 'Living Legend' theme on YouTube
  22. Is anybody able to discover if the 'What Do I Have To Do' digital release actually made it into this week's UK Top 200?
  23. I thought that almost everything had already been released from the PWL vaults - but apparently not. Although it is probably not even my favourite PWL album, the four singles that were taken from 'Rhythm Of Love' to my mind are the strongest quartet of singles from any album in her career. To have had extra remixes of WDIHTD, back in 1991, would have been wonderful, and I would've snapped them up. To have them now is a great belated surprise (these are the tracks, by the way:) 1. Billy The Fish Mix: Part I (3:44) 2. Billy The Fish Mix: Part II (7:30) 3. Original 12" Mix (7:09) 4. Extended Album Mix II (8:42) I'm only a very occasional iTunes purchaser, but these will certainly be tracks that I will buy. Maybe sometime in the future they may even see a physical releases as part of PWL album re-issues, with bonus tracks (we can only hope.)
  24. From midnight (wherever you are - so already live in Japan): http://tiny.cc/pdf0b Four (!) previously unreleased mixes of 1991's 'What Do I Have To Do' Enjoy!
  25. Some excellent choices there. I reckon I agree with about 75% of the tracks you've suggested that weren't actually singles.
