And what does contraception has to do with abortion? Contraception, as the name speaks for itself, avoids the conception to happen. There is no embryo before the conception, just sperm... Acusing someone of being anti-contraception, just because she is anti-abortion, is not a honest argument...

Sam´s Town had a massive opening week, but fell like a rock. Sales of that album weren´t nowhere as big as Hot Fuss, or comparable to the almost 3 million sales of Dido´s Life For Rent. Dido has proven stability by selling, with her second album, practically the same as she did with her massive debut. While indie/rock bands like Killers and Keane failed to have their 2nd albums anywhere as big as their debuts. Still, it´s not about who´s going to be more sucessful. To get #1, what matters is the opening sales. Dido has a massive recording public who is going to buy this new album no matter what... So even if sales in the long run are not that big, the 1st week sales should wipe the floor and guarantee her a #1...

See, THAT´s what I was sayng when I made the point about their singles being big due to exposure on key TV shows. Everyone says this will be big because it´ll be on X Factor, or Children In Need etc... Nobody even consider the quality of the song itself. What´s the point charting that way? They could release anything and just perform on a bloody contest show... -_- The ideal hit is that song you hear and say: "that´s going to be big...". Not the one you have to look on the artists TV schedule to check if it has chances or not.

To have a # 1 in December, her new album should sell in 1 week almost the same as her previous album did in 1 year :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: She´s coming from the biggest flop of her career, and even on her peak her album sales have never been that massive in UK... More like her album will debut between #10-20, on sales of 40 to 60k.

Britney, number 1 in UK? -_- -_- Seriously, don´t create to much expectation... She will be lucky to score Top 10 in this buzy season.

Male teens are usually into rock bands... The fanbase of pop divas and tweenie divas is more like 90% female/gay male.

They all suck... Disney pick their acts based on their looks, and it doesn´t have anything remotely to do with musical talent. In any pub you see an average girl with a guitar with a better vocal performance then "singers" like Hilary Duff or Miley... They´re just ridiculously ridiculous. They shouldn´t even count as "professional" singers...

Yes it is... Considering most artists/bands take around 1 year to record an album, then release and work on it for another year and tour, which makes a gap of at least 2 and a half years in between albums, or maybe, 3, 4... But never mind, just sing over a prerecorded track should be much quicker then actually sit and make the whole music...

Lol, I can´t believe they had 18 hits already in such a short space of time. How did they even had time to record this lot?? Lol, this girls are definitely playback machines...

However, if her pregnancy was "acidental", then she had actually no choice - considering her and most of americans believe then there is no moral "choice" between keeping / aborting the baby. Hypocrite she would be if she aborted it, considered all she seems to stand for is against abortion. I still have seen no reliable source that Sarah is *against* the use of preservatives and contraception. All I see is distorted quotings from herself and the FFL organization... The fact that she doesn´t want 10 years old girls to be handled condoms and be taught to have free sex as they want hardly is a statement against the use of preservatives. But that is another issue... I´m not sayng I support her or McCain, but bashing the woman for having an exceptional kid is not nice.

Biggest album of her career? Joke of the year. Sorry, but she went from a 12 million seller to one that strugled to reach a million... She will ALWAYS be a classic example of flop. And bad promotion will always be used as an excuse for any flop. Obviously, when a label sees promotiong is not payng off they will not invest anymore, so an album that just kept selling on and on will push more and more promo, while an album that falls like a rock 2 weeks after its released (the case of Kelly´s last one), will not inspire the label to spend money away. But the huge difference in sales between Breakaway and My December, no matter how promotion was poor for the latter, just proves one thing: FANBASE doesn´t ensure anything for a pop artist. If people like Madonna and Mariah Carey had their flops and even their fanbase build in years have not been enough to ensure big sales for their flop albums, then there´s NOTHING that guarantee a one time sucessful reality TV act will remain sucessful for all her releases. FANBASE really means nothing, most of the people who are "fans" now will move on when the next reality TV act becomes big. If someone like MADONNA have missed the Top 10 a few times in her career, then it´s hilarious to say Leona or Girls Aloud had guaranteed #1´s based on "fanbase"...

I hope it was delayed a few more days, I´ve been waiting 5 years for a new album from Dido and I will be very disapointed if the universe ends before of that...

Why? Just because she is having instant sucess doesn´t mean she will last forever... Think how many popstars better then her were so big and then disappeared. Leona is definitely one of the biggest pop names this year, but her music has absolutely no personality, even "Bleeding Love"... sounds like just average pop done just for the sake of cashing in a reality show winner. Kelly Clarkson was better then this in the Breakaway era and look where she is now. Plus, by the fact that Girls Aloud and Dido are coming with brand new albums, while Leona´s is "just" a re-release, could it be that the hype for her will be much smaller?

But I´m sayng EVERY one of their singles is premiered in a charity or contest show the week or in a week prior to it´s release, and that is a gimmick because it makes the song have an instant peak and then fall like a rock. By the way, many artists are capable of achieving hits only with their radio/music channels support. But it´s understandable that Girls Aloud and Sugababes have time to be in pretty much every UK TV show, since they don´t have an international career like more high profile artists who have to split their time between UK, America, Germany, France, Australia, etc... B)

Why do people always talk like her "fanbase" will guarantee her anything??? She had like 3 or 4 singles releases, and just one album... Is it possible to talk about a "loyal" fanbase when all she´s had so far is just 1 studio album? How many artists we know had 1 massive debut album and then gradually became less and less popular? SPECIALLY when it comes to reality TV acts? Didn´t Hear´Say had massive debut album and single, but where are they now? I´m not sayng the same thing will happen to Leona, but I think at this moment in her career it´s just too soon to talk as if she was already a stablished pop icon. Even Kelly Clarkson, who was the american version of Leona, was able to follow a massive 12 million smash album with a disastrous flop... So nothing is guaranteed.

I don´t agree with this... If an album has so many new songs it will obviously make people who already own the older version to buy it just because of the new songs. So it should chart sepparetely.

Well, then that must apply to ANY woman who got pregnant on her 40´s? Because it really looked like you were sugesting she was blamed for keeping the baby... What is your source that Sarah Palin is actually against contraception and condoms? Sorry, but last time I checked she was member of an american organization that promotes contraception and family control (abortion not included, since it´s no contraception - contraception is anything that avois the conception to happen). She is married since decades, so if she has *only* five children, I suppose she uses contraception - otherwise she would have had much more, considering she is married with her teenage school boyfriend, since ages... I would not vote for McCain (if I was american) anyway, but using a baby with Down´s Syndrome as an argument is something really sick... I wonder if the liberal agenda would act the same if Obama had a Down kid. That´s really sickening.

I guess there is no firm date yet. But if it´s been shoot this week, I supposed it should surface in music channels in 2 or 3 weeks...
