  1. Hmmm that was a bit dire, you sugest that children with Down´s Syndrome should be a source of unhappyness to their parents. Clearly you know nothing about life, and I´d rather have someone with Down´s Syndrome as the president of my country then someone with this lack of humanity...

It sucks that their songs end up with high positions due to promotional gimmicks, instead of the song´s merits itself...

Dido is shooting the video for Don´t Believe In Love this week!! Acording to her website, it´s going to be produced by the duo Alex and Liane. Here´s a list of some videos they have recorded in the past: http://www.alexandliane.com/files/videos.html I like it a lot... Seems like there is a cool and alternative video on the way! So much better then a predictable video like White Flag had... I´m curious to see it!
  4. When is it released digitally?

So, when it´s being released digitally? Is it the same week as the physical release? I repeat the same question for Leona´s song.

When is the release date for the song digitally, and phisically? Will both coincide?
  7. I guess not everyone understand that a poll is not about where you WANT the song to chart, but where you THINK it will chart...

Well, even if Dido´s new song misses the Top 20 entirely, she would still sell at least twice as GA with her album. I can´t understand how someone considers a piece of art like "Don´t Believe In Love" as "boring", while some unlistenable c**p like "Forgive Me" or "Girls" are being tipped as sure fire #1´s. Must be because people haven´t even heard it??? And the song doesn´t have a deluxe prostitute, oops, model, dancing with lingerie in a video, so it´s ... boring. It´s this bunch of discartable boy/girl bands that make the UK charts look laughable to the world. While artists who are worldwide recognized never achieve #1 in their own home land, some stupid girl/boy bands made of members who can´t even play a chord in a guitar, have epic sequencies of Top 3 hits. It makes stuff like Westlife figure alongside The Beatles or Abba in all time charts lists. And all those charity shows makes me think the "charity" is actually done to the artists themselves, who get sure exposition from those awful performances and make their list of chart achievements longer with their yearly releases. They should change the message from helping the poor, to helping some hot bodied woman without any musical talent so that they cain maintain their "celebrity" status and not move to the porn industry, where their "talent" would fit better.

That´s probably right, the song going to be top 10, then the album debuts somewhere between # 10 and # 20 and fall like rock so that it´ll be flash back by this time next year and they can have the followup yearly album released, in usual GA style.

"Don´t Believe In Love" is much better listening full on in a stereo, then in youtube. There´s so much of the song instrumentation that you miss by listening in youtube. That´s one of my fav songs of the year.
  11. Well, I´m aware there are serious studies about homossexuality among animals, and if it exists among humans, why wouldn´t it exists among animals the same way? Since most gay people claim not to have chosen their sexual orientation, then the same genetical, hormonal or psicological reasons that cause homossexuality in humans must work the same way in other mammals since we´re very similar. However, I think the statistics of 20% of humans being homossexual is utterly ridiculous, or even 10%, sounds like massive gay propaganda. Many people who are not homossexual have tried some sexual intercourse with someone of the same gender just out of curiosity, or just to "break the laws". Is what we see with american popstars like Britney, Paris, Pink, and the "I Kissed A Girl" song... same sex kissing just out of fun and to cause "shock" in conservative society. But I doubt the amount of people who genuinely feels atracted only or mainly by people of the same sex are anywhere near of reaching 10% of humanity. The thing is, if there is homossexuality among animals, there´s also sex between animals of different species, forced sex, and animals start their sexual life as soon as their insticts tell them to do so. My point is, what is considered "normal" or "acceptable" are concepts developed by our culture, and it varys acording to time/space, it´s not objective truth like 1+1=2. In UK, a 40 years old guy having sex with a 13 year old girl would be considered repugnant... In other cultures, a 13 year old girl is expected to marry, as soon as she passes puberty. So what we consider "paedophilia", they consider normal. These stuff are built by society, it´s the human cultures... Not an objective fact you´ll find researching natural facts.
  12. Nice way of keeping an unbroke run of top 10 singles... not release stuff anymore...

I blamed bad promotion... There´s plenty of room for "adult pop" (that´s how I classify her music) in the UK charts: Dido, James Blunt, James Morrison, Coldplay, etc. Alanis could be big with decent promo. But what have they done in the last years for that? They haven´t even tried! The most popular track from her last album, "Not As We", sold more then the official lead single in USA, and still the label didn´t pick that track for a single and didn´t make a music video for it. She´s went from a 16 million selling album to a 180k selling album (in USA), which is absurd...
  14. Overstaged posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
The song has almost no airplay in the USA...
  15. And by the way, I must say I AM AGAINST paedophilia obviously, in any case, because that violents the will of the children/adolescents. I just wouldn´t call that DISEASE, because people who do that are following their *natural* instincts, when they should use their reason instead. Someone who abuses children is conscient of what is doing, it´s no disease, and if a "different" type of sexual actraction should be considered "disease" then homossexuality and bissexuality should be too, cause they´re not the "mainstream" sexual preferences, either their lead to human reproduction which is the only known way to pass the genes on to future generations, and as Dawkins points, it´s the "egoist gene" that makes evolution happen.
  16. "normal" and "acceptable" are 2 terms that depend on your culture. What´s acceptable in NY is not acceptable in Saudi Arabia, and vice versa. About the term "natural", I don´t touch it... Do you think that primitive humans, before civilizations started, were waiting until a female was fully *18 years old* or *16 years old* before they tried a sexual intercourse??? You´re bloody dellusional... In nature, mammals start to have sex and reproduce as soon as they past puberty, and *biologically* there´s nothing wrong with it... Don´t demonize me because I don´t go with your politically correct cliches. I´m not touching the subject of homossexuality (a holly untouchable taboo in the politically correct world)... just the fact that biologically, paedophilia is less of a deletery phenomenon then homossexuality. Just like Consie pointed in his self admitted rudimentary argument, the son of a 14 years old girl will have a reduced life expectancy, maybe of about 5 to 10% less? (I´d say that´s an exageration myself...) On the other hand, and homossexual couple would have their expectancy of reproducing reduced in comparison with an heterossexual couple, by a margin of, say... 100%
  17. The highlighted part has more to do with social/cultural reasons the biology itself. That´s why I say these things vary from culture to culture... Imagine a time when the average life expectancy was under 25 years. You couldn´t really expect people would reproduce only when their past the *cultural* mark of 14 or 16 years old... The cut line of what is acceptable or not is *cultural*, which explains why the age of consent is different from country to country, and so what is considered "paedophilia"... In some countries to have sex with a 15 year old girl is "paedophilia"... In others, a 15 year old is expected to be married with at least 3 kids already. And I was never tryng to prove you are a soulles barbarian... people like you prove for themselves by inserting the whole religious subject in every damn bloody topic that is not remotely related to it. It´s not possible to have a civilized debate with people who demonize you in EVERY SINGLE TOPIC, just because you commited the bloody sin of revealing your religion in past threads. That is sickening because I hate all fanatics, wether their christian, muslim or atheist like yourselves.

Yesterday I heard "don´t believe in love" for the first time on my earphones, and I must say it sounds MUCH better then in youtube... The instrumentation of the song is so rich! This is defenitely one of the best songs of the year, and if there´s any justice it should go all the way to #1...
  19. I really hope that doesn´t happen... Not only because I want Dido to go #1, but because it would be embarrasing for the UK charts to have that garbage Leona´s fans call "music" at #1. But then, a song as ridiculous as "keep bleeding... keep keep bleeding" became one of the biggest hits of the year in USA, just proving the charts are pretty receptive for inferior pop garbage. It doesn´t matter if Dido misses the # 1 spot, since she has the album charts in her hands and that´s what really counts for the music industry, the singles chart being a mere promotion tool. But anyway, people who predict Dido outside the Top 5 are dellusional... the download and the physical single are being released in the same week. If James Blunt could go Top 5 with "1973", then why would not Dido stand a chance at #1??? All it takes is the music public coming to their minds before considering buyng that carp Leona is releasing.

A new video was added in didomusic.com, it features samples of 2 new Dido songs, included Grafton Street which is supposed to be THE song of the album.

Well, I thought Daft Punk... I don´t like it either, but the cover is the least important to me. I hardly look at the cover of the albums I have after I buy them. Anyway, The Sun seems to be doing full publicity of her comeback:
  22. There is no way that Dido will only be # 5 with all the amount of publicity and airplay she will have... In fact, the downloads are being repressed and will only be released in the same week as the physical single. As she´s a mainly albums act, I think she can go #2 behind Leona (she always get blocked from # 1 by a $h!tty pop act), but the album # 1 is a dead cert. In fact, if Leona´s is released for downloads earlier, it might be that until then her sales will be a "slow burner", while Dido´s will have a big debut and then fall, so she might have chances of even hitting the #1.
  23. Overstaged posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
What do you predict about the chart performance of this comeback in UK??? I´d say the single debuts straight at #1 (considering the song will only be sent to i-tunes and released physically one week prior to the album), and the album at # 1 with sales around 300,000 copies in its first week... Does anyone has a release schedule of which songs are being released in the same week as "Don´t Believe In Love" so that we know who is up against her???
  24. Faithless was going to have a number one single with "One Step Too Far", featuring Dido, in 2002, acording to the midweeks, but it was deleted by the label during the week to give space to Westlife to have their 18348489398th number one single which came out at the same week, so it could only peak at #6 with the remaining copies in stores, and feel completely out of the Top 75 in just 2 weeks. Shocking. The label said it was to boost Faithless albums´ sales - which is bollocks, because the album version of that song was completely different from the radio edit/single version.
  25. Britney Spears is the inverse example... several hits, many # 1 singles... but never a #1 album.
