  1. It makes senses, except for the part of car emissions... Couples without children, or couples with just 1 children use cars aswell as big families. People will not join their neighbours in the same car just because their family isn´t big enough to fill a car. It´s hard to meet people that have more then 1 children today. With the niilism that dominates european mentality today, and pregancy being considered as a "disease", it´s no wonder these population will shrink since people consider meaningless, or even evil, to bring more people into this life.
  2. You mean the peace and love version of paganism made up by modern socialites like Madonna or teenager wiccans... not the good old paganism we all know that includes sacrificing children to their "gods". I supose your views on budhism wouldn´t be that good also if you lived in a mainly budhist country, and not only knew if from famous hollywood converts. I think sectarism and intolerance is much more present among militant atheist then in other religions in the western world.
  3. Do they really need a number one??? To sell 30k $h!tty cd singles or mp3 tracks when they can sell 400,000 albums in one week... that´s pathethic, and they´re being smart for giving the single for free... it will turn people into the album.
  4. The travel of Peter to Rome is not the basis of christianity... In fact, it´s not even described in the Bible. It´s just an argument that the Roman Catholic Church uses to justify their belief that the pope is a direct sucessor of Peter, and so, has primacy over all other bishops in the world. However, this belief is not shared by the 700 million protestants (protestants began as a rupture with the Pope, so they don´t recognise his authority), and 300 million eastern orthodox christians. So it´s hardly the basis of christianity. Indian christians were not the only christian group wiped by Roman catholics either... so were the first christians in britain, back in the 3rd or 4th century. Anyway, you have to make up your mind either Thomas, Peter and Paul were actual persons who planted churches where they travelled in (like you stated in Jerusalem or India), or they are just myths ivented by whoever wrote the Bible...
  5. If it´s a personal choice, then how can it be taken by someone that is so affected by a disease that can´t even think or express their thoughts about it??? Or maybe a child or extremely old person? I think the culture of death in Europe is extremely brutal and self destructive of it´s civilization. This comes along with recent news about senior dutch citizens running away to Germany cause they fear to be given "euthanasia" without their consent in their home country, where life after youth starts being considered an "ofense"... Once you do not work or produce anything, you start being a weight to society and it´s time to kiss your arse goodbye... A nation who treats its parents and grandparents like that is walking to self destruction.

I think it´s ironic that someone can commit suicide because of losing a friend or split a relationship as a teenager, when if they all have been alive for a few more years, there is a big probability that they would distance themselves from each other to the point that when they´re 30 or 40 years old they would mean nothing to each other... Do people at the age of 15, 16, 17, really think they will remain with their friends and boy/girlfriends for the entire life, so that losing one of them at this point would mean live is not worth living from now on?
  7. It´s not a contradiction, because I said it´s a dull idea that we are supposedly with a final knowledge about the universe.... which means I don´t agree with this idea at all. No matter how much science has evolved, I don´t think an average 21st century person knows more about the universe then a genius in the previous eras... We are not wiser then Isaac Newton or Charles Darwin just because we have internet and hot shower.
  8. If the parents want, they can have one... It´s up to their choice. Stuff like that ain´t important really... a foetus doesn´t have a social life, neither a newborn baby, so you can´t expect a funeral with loads of people mourning... if you met any women who had an undesired abortion you´d know how much pain and suffering it bring for the family for weeks - obviously I´m not talking about people who think pregancy is like having worms or cancer. To average humanity, pregnacy is seen as a good think, even when it comes at the wrong time... I have dozens of female friends who got an undesired pregnacy, at a very young age or sometimes with an undesireable father, most of them had to raise the kid alone... not one of them regrets keeping the baby. I live in a poor country, and conservative society where women who get pregnant before marriage still receive many negative comments everywhere... It´s funny that people who live in rich and "enlighted" countries claim that it´s "too hard" to raise an undesired baby... Obviously that´s just bollocks... No child born in an average UK/USA family experiences hunger with that ease. But anyway, when is the exact date an abortion is still "acceptable"??? Is it a gradual process, or we just fix a time in the clock when a piece of flesh becomes a "bona fide" human???
  9. My point is that, atheism and intelligence have no strict relation. This is a myth. I know several intelectual people who have deep religious principles, and many so-called "atheist" whose knowledge comes only from wikipedia. It is a very dull idea that, even tough we certainly know more about the universe then people did in the past, we are somewhere near of having a final knowledge about it... we are really in the dark. Plus, I´m not really talking about "dark age" people in past centuries. Francis Collins who cracked the human genome code, for example, is not a medieval man, but one of the biggest scientists today. I don´t believe in this whole "dark age" talk... scientific knowledge is always developing and sometimes recent theories change what was considered truth for years... but still there is no scientific discovery in this thousands of years of humanity that makes the existence of God impossible. This "enlighted" times we have just lived (20th century) was also the most brutal century in the history of humanity... the 21st century is not walking to be any better then that. In the future when people look back at this civilization whose life has no meaning and to whom killing people who are useless or a weight to society is considered morally "ok", where people who have health and money commit suicide because they just notice there is no reason to live, they will look back and say we lived in dark ages too.
  10. It´s not "my" church because I am not roman-catholic... I´ve heard of many cases of priests that were excomunniated from the church YEARS before they were condemned by the SECULAR law, and some of them who were excommuniated even being ABSOLVED by the secular law... In fact, sexual relations even with adult persons use to be enough reason for a priest to be excomuniated in the RC church... let alone with children. Surely a death of natural causes or accidental can´t be used an excuse to allow people to deliberately murder... you still got the problem in your hands. When is the exact moment a foetus stops being a thumbnail-size foetus and becomes a young baby??? It´s not overnight, it´s a gradual process. So, if the process that makes it becoming "human" is gradual, the penalties should be so then??? This means that if we allow a mother to abort on the 7th month, we can´t condemn a mother who kills a newborn premature baby... it´s a matter of proportionalitty. Then we should also have different laws for varyng degress of mental health... killing a person with an IQ lower then 25 (serious mental deficienty) should have a smaller punishment then killing someone with normal health... it is disgusting but it´s the only way to keep minimal coerence for people who defend abortion.
  11. Well, this is another classic example of a politically correct a-hole defending a "minority´s right", when the minority itself (muslims) is not bothered with it...
  12. Congratulations for having such an evolved brain. I just wish that Isaac Newton or Blaise Pascal were not that dumb and supersticious. It´s too bad that our entire western society has been raised around the thought of people like Plato, Aristotle, Agostinius, people who were dumb enough to believe in God... So now that we discovered they were dumb, we need to start it from zero. Forget about the Big Bang theory, developed by a man who was "dumb" enough to be a priest... Forget about the Origin of the Species, a book that was so dumb it credits the merits of biodiversity to an imaginary God in its last paragraphs!!! We need to forget about all the great thinkers of our history, and rely on Dawkins and Sagan, lol.....
  13. You commit the very childish mistake of imputing the erros of particulars members to an entire religion... Is like blaming atheism itself for all the deaths caused by Stalin, and to extension, all atheist governments that ever existed in this planet... By the way, have you noticed how the atheist countries haven´t been an inch more fair or peaceful then the religious empires... just look at China. I know, it must be frustrating for someone who thinks religion is the cause of all evil to look back at China or the dead communist Russia... The abuse of kids in the Catholic Church exists, but it´s far from being a rule... it happens, scientifically proved, with less frequency with priests then with doctors, for example. Should we blame pediatric medicine for paedophilia too??? How do you feel about the murder of a new born child? Should it be made legal or should it have the same punishment as mudering an adult person??? You answear on this have direct impact on your coerence over this subject. Surely killing a baby who was just born cannot be considered murder, while killing a baby who is just about to pop outside is just.... legal.
  14. What if I think 3 years old is the cutline that gives me an authorization to eliminate the child... What if, in my conviction, a child only becomes a "human being" when it starts talking??? Should the punishment for a mother that kills a 1 year old child be smaller then for a person who kills a 10 year old child or an adult human being? Any type of graduation in different "levels" of human being is wrong. The foetus doesn´t take human form overnight... it´s a gradual process. If we say to a mother it´s okay to abort in the 20 week, then how can we punish one who aborts in the 21st week??? And if we say it´s okay for a mother to abort in any period of pregnancy, how will we sentence to 10 years in jail a person who kills a newborn or a premature child? Just the fact that the baby has had its first breath makes his death automatically be a hundread times more reprobable?
  15. No, it´s you who assume a scarily ignorant atitude for someone who is suposed to be progressist and open minded... Look how you can´t help invoking personal subjects that have nothing to do with the subject (ie, religion, faith), to disqualify your "oponents", instead of just keeping to solid arguments... I have known atheist people that are against abortion too. My brother is an agnostic, raised in non-practicing catholic family, and is against abortion too... In fact, in my country a survey have stated that more then 92% of the population considers abortion morally wrong, and that´s more then the amount of catholics, and even religious people, in this country. Not all secular or atheist people are reactionary, the type that authomatically disqualifies everything that comes from a source that has any connection with chrsitianity... those reactionary atheist (a small group among the total atheists) are not less intolerant then fundamentalists christians or muslims.
  16. Lol, abortion in cases of rape are legalised in most western countries, aren´t they?? So it´s funny that you use that as an excuse. And what about a child that is already born, when you discover her father or mother has just commited an homicide, rape, or etc... should it be sentenced for death for being the son of a monster, lol.
  17. Thank you but I prefer serious scientific opinion then this ignorant myth... you seem to ignore the concept of a "living being" - go back to school. Breathing is not the criteria to define what´s a living being... a foetus has cells, nervous system, a heart beating - stuff that average rocks and other non living being don´t have. When I was a 7 year old child I learned that what makes a living being are cells with DNA on the inside. Something a foetus has since its first day - go back to school. I wasn´t even aware that size was a criteria to define a living being... the planet jupiter is a living being??? lol. Does a cancer or cyst has its own organs, nervous system, heart, circulatory system... and does it have a different and independent DNA code then the body where it´s inside? Lol. Someone who ever fears a higher being enough to avoid aborption, will also avoid hate, neglect, and abuse even more... It´s funny how you link parents who aborpt their kids to abuse and hate. These are the people whose rights you are defending... lol. A book cannot feed and protect children... people who read books can. And believe me, they do, much more then you and some politically correct people and you empty atitudes.
  18. People with Parkinsons, Alzheimer???? We should just kill them... if they can stand on their own or survive in society without medical or artificial help, or have body misformations, then they are no "full human beings". People with respiratory diseases or mental illness too... people who can´t breath are not human beings lol... they are just "weight" to our society...
  19. No, it´s simply because of coerence... Have you ever seen a baby born of 6 or 7 months??? Killing one of these would be considered homicide, yet if they took a few more weeks on the womb and were killed then, it would be "just" an aborption... so be coerent, you think killing newborn babies should be legal? Lol, I can undestand why you don´t like the world "imoral" very much. Have you ever met a woman who suffered natural aborption? I can guarantee they took much more then 3 weeks of morning... But it´s obvious then when someone CAUSES their death, there won´t be any mourning. Obviously the suffering of an "unwanted" child is no serious excuse to kill it... otherwise we would be able to kill any suffering human being in the planet. It should be an easy way of ending aids and hunger. And still I don´t believe that an "unwanted" child won´t ever experience any happiness in life, and other stuff that use to make people think life is worth living. Poverty and disease are no excuses either... poor and ill people can be happy too. 3/4 of world population are poor and it´s not like they all want to die because of this, or consider themselves as "cancers". With so many suffering, yet happy, people in the world, it´s sickening that some people consider eliminating a child because they don´t want to gain a few pounds or damage their professional career. It should be mentioned that there are easy ways of avoiding pregnancy... It scares me that, with aborption being in the dumb "politically correct" agenda, and with the easiness of DNA exams, people will start aborptin everytime the foetus is detected with some deficiency or illness, to the point that babies are eliminated everytime they don´t have the wanted eye or skin colour, or the "right" type of hair, or celebrity looks... or maybe the "right" sexual preferences (as science evolves and maybe it becomes detectable on the child´s DNA)... Until we create the "perfect" race Hilter has dreamed.
  20. The muslims in western Europe??? Imigrants or sons of imigrants... the more they embrance the society, the weaker their religious convictions tend to be aswell. I know several people of muslim origins here in Brazil... As they are all integrated in society, I can´t metion ONE of them that is particularly religious or even bothers going to a mosque or having a copy of the quran at home. Most of them tend to adopt the local religion because of mixed marriages. This is not real growth of a religion, you don´t see people converting to islam often.
  21. That equals to sayng catholicism or anglicanism ain´t christianity mate... Things work pretty well in books but the problems start when people try to put it in practice...
  22. Aborption is nothing but killing a baby, it´s wrong not because it´s ilegal but because it´s coward and imoral. But I see a big contradition in GWB for being against aborption and pro-death penalty...
  23. Why do we keep fuelling news like this??? It´s obvius that stuff like this are done by a minority, sometimes not even muslim, and are trown in the articles as being the work of the muslim world as if muslim people had nothing better to do.
  24. By "more enlighted" I suppose you are refering to "lapsed" christians or muslims.... cause christians themselves would never accept the Koran as a mere "different interpretation" of the Bible. Even tough believing in different things doesn´t mean be disrespectful with other beliefs.
  25. Dawkins as an atheist idol never said he wanted the christian church to be removed, and recently he said he considers himself a "cultural christian", who has no problems in singing christams songs, for example, even tough not a believer... he is civilized. He would not want to use force to convince people of his beliefs... even because the perios the church has suffered more persecution, were the periods it grew more and produced more intelectual heritage to humanity. You can´t put an end to the church by using force... the biggest proof of that is that the Russian Church remains strong decades after it was persecuted and many of its priests were murdered by the atheist government, and remains one of the strongest of the orthodox group... even with millions of members spread outside of Russia, specially in USA. You can´t kill christianity with persecution, jews and romans tried that 2 thousand years ago when it was just a sect of a few thousand people, and what a result their persecution has lead it, to create the biggest religion of the planet...
