It gets me laughing every time an atheist who barely knows what is a DNA code think of themselves as "free thinkers" or "people of science", while several intelectuals and nobel prize winners who have been devout christians are dismissed as "nuts". That´s the shallow reality TV show generation, folks!

It seems that only fundamentalists (either christian fundamentalists, or atheist fundamentalists) do interpret the Bible literally. This method of interpretation is typical of people with shallow knowledge, such as a brainwashed average-teenager atheist or a fanatic evangelical. They are 2 sides of the same coin... It has been discuessed a thousand times here that most christians don´t give a flyng f*** about this, and not even scientists take this seriously as an offense to religion. To your information, Francis Collins, leader of the human genome code project is a christian, and so are many of several evolutionist scientiests. The big bang theory was developed by a priest, and mocked by atheists back then. It is such a huge arrogance from mediocre people with mediocre intellectual capacity to dismiss religious as "nuts" when genius much superior to them have been/are christians. :D :D :D Well, in fact, many christians I know are passionate about science. Unlike the egoistic materialistic, who only use it as a tool to get richer. Science is a tool that people can use it however they want, either for good or evil. "Currently recording my next album" is her default answear when she doesn´t have anything else to say. She has been sayng this centuries before the failed Safe Trip Home was released. That doesn´t mean, in any way, that the album will come quick. Specially now, that investing any money in her is complete crazyness. There are many reasons why this album haven´t even got a tour: a) complete lack of will from Dido herself in anything concerning her own career B) complete lack of interest by the public in Dido. 5 years without a hit, it would atract as many people as a Vengaboys´reunion. c) the colossal loss of money of her label in the STH project Now, about the STH era being over... has it even begun, to start with? If you call an album launched by a Top 60 single without a tour or any presentation an "era", then it must be. But whatever we call this Safe Trip Home episody (I call it tragedy), it´s obviously over. Whose gonna invest any cent in an album which, almost half a year after its release, has sold just 30% of the copies initially pressed in the UK (and less then 50% globally)? Even if, by a miracle, sales of the album were tripled, there would still be no need to ship any more copies, and therefore, no extra money to be made for the label, so it´s pretty safe that it´s over. What´s not safe is that Dido has any future in Sony. Hell, it has been years of investment on her and this album made workers to be fired, she fuelled the market´s crisis! Years of investment in an album that haven´t made 1 cent in return!

Her dad died more then 2 years ago and she´s an adult woman, almost 40. It´s really pathetic to use her excuses for her acting like a cock.

An honest Dido "greatest hits" would just be a mix of No Angel/ Life For Rent tracks, cause her unremembered 3rd album didn´t produce anything close to a "hit". And in this case, I don´t think anyone would ever be interested by it - the whole country already have her first 2 albums, and in case they don´t, they can buy it almost for free in any budget. Buyng her 1st 2 albums would probably end up cheaper then buyng a newly released compilation of tracks of her first 2 albums. There´s hardly any interest in her, she´s nothing these days... Even if she ever records another killer track, she doesn´t bother promoting it and she´s become to old and too far forgotten to ever be taken seriously again.

It amazes the hell out of me just how floppy this whole Dido comeback has been. It has to be one of the worse in all pop history. When her comeback was announced I was very positive about it, and I think not even the most passionate haters would have thought she would ever flop this badly. The album disappeared from anywhere in just a few days and dropped out of the Top 200 charts before even selling A HALF of what its predecessor album sold in just one week. Surely, she´s gone from the biggest UK female act to complete insignificant from just one album to another. :unsure: Who the hell still cares about Dido in pop today? She´s hardly mentioned anywhere, she´s become as relevant as Lou Bega or Los Del Rio. Surely, artists careers go up and down all the time, but to go from huge superstar to such a nothingness from just one album to another is shocking. And I can´t say she didn´t deserve it - the lady barely moved a finger to save this project, and her rare appearences were depressing at best. She´s become pathetic, she doesn´t even have a cult. Surely, people would say what matters is not sales and chart positions - but what serious recognition Dido still have in music today? It´s not like she´s taken serious or have a following like other alternative acts who don´t sell millions. She didn´t even tour. She´s irrelevant. Who the hell even remember "Safe Trip Home" ever got released??? To me, it´s like her career has been finished 6 years ago.

Serious historians would beg to disagree. Your pretention is very arrogant. You act like you are an expert in the subject but I suppose you haven´t even studied about it. Yet you always claim to have the final answear... There´s no scientifical "theory" about Jesus being God incarnate. A fairly literate person would have known that facts of faith are not disputed by the fields of science (even history), and to say that history has anything to say about the divinity of Christ is utter nonsense. I read several books about it, most of them written by atheists/agnostic authors and none of them ever had this pretention, even tought them all are much more credible then your superficial knowledge. Your hope in science explaining everything is dellusional and stupid. For each answear that is found, 100 new questions appear. Scientists today have thousands more questions without answears then they did centuries ago. I don´t think a fairly literate person would ever echo the idea that knowledge has a final limit (aka, explain everything). That´s one of the most stupid things I ever read. You can have whatever reasons to not believe in God (you have been educated in an anti-god culture, so it´s no wonder), but please skip science. That´s not property of arrogant atheists, in fact people of faith have contributed to science more then militant atheists in history, period. The fact that there is a creator is so basic and so intrinsic into our human condition that every culture in the world took notice of it. Men in its natural condition already know that there is a creator without the need of any indoctrination. To deny this fact, it takes heavy indoctrination. You simply believe that matter developed conscience by itself by acident. That is so nuts that make the wildest religions look rational. You believe that matter can develop conscience by making itself more and more complex coming from complete chaos to complex structures, yet you find the idea that this whole process was driven by some intelligence to be impossible. That´s totally nuts! What makes the idea of the universe having an intelligence behind it more impossible then us, pieces of dust that got together by acident, to have one? And then again, if this is all bull$h!t and you don´t believe it, what´s your problem if other people believe that? A christian would believe that, by converting other people he would have earned them Heaven, and what do you atheists believe you earn with that? Making other people less happy by assimilating your inevitably nihilistic worldview, or eliminating any possibility for a morality that is based in something other then materialism (=convenience)? When I first read it I thought it was outdate, but it makes more sense when I read it again and noticed its from 1922 (LMAO). The mythical Jesus theory emerged in the 18th century among historians, but it gradually lost importance to the point that it´s hardly taken serious by historians today. Pretty much any civilization in this planet has developed some type of religion or spirituality, belief in a Creator, no matter how geographically and culturally isolated they were from each other. So oposing religion to humanity is the biggest joke ever... in fact, our spirituality (which exists in pretty much EVERY human civilization prior to the disastrous materialistic thought took place in Europe - creating the most violent century in human history) is pretty much, from an antropologic point of view, what distinguishes us from the rest of the animals. To wipe this away is making our civilization less "human" after all...

If I had known a priest (or any other person) who is a paedophile, I would call the police. I sugest you to do the same... Simply not letting your kids have put a risk is not enough. No, they don´t. They believe that a dogma proclaimed by the pope is infallible, and that has happened less then 20 times in history, period. They don´t believe he´s infallible in his speeches, writings, on his private life, etc.

Well, that might be the right aproach concerning "soft" drugs such as alcohol or nicotine. However, there are some drugs that can build instant dependence on first use and have disastrous consequences. There´s nothing wrong with teaching kids that some things are wrong and shouldn´t be taken. It´s not a rule that they´ll try desperately anything that´s forbidden, unless the parents are completely irresponsible and have minimal participation on their education. Concerning illegal but softer drugs, such as marijuana, I would rather say to my kids that until they´re living under this roof they´re not taking it. Parents should have some authority. One good point that I would teach my kids is drugs usually don´t have any advantage. There´s no point in using something that in most cases, only brings bad consequences. Teenagers usually try drugs not because they think it tastes good, but because their friends are using it and they need it in order to be considered "cool". For example, vodka and cigarattes tastes HORRIBLY when you´re taking it for the first times... It only becomes "good" after you took it many times and your body had already developed some type of dependence. So, taking something that tastes bad, costs money, and have bad consequences to your health, with the only advantage of making you cooler in the eyes of other people is a complete lack of intelligence IMO.

Drinking with moderation can be a good thing, however I can undestand why some parents would prefer their children not to drink any. It´s specially hard to ask for moderation for people who are too young, and concerning a substance that causes dependence and different reactions to different people, who cannot be 100% predicted. 3,7% of the deaths that happen in the world are related to alcohol (either because of diseases caused by it, or car crashes and violence), and millions of other people are affected negatively by it. I´d say the good things of alcohol (making people more social and fun) hardly make up for the tragedies that this death industry causes. Consuming it is supporting it, and giving more money to be invested in propaganda that will help leading more and more people into alcoholism.

What a catastrophe... I feel ashamed of my past predictions about this album, which weren´t even that optimistic at all. I was guessing the album would leave the charts with at least 400k sold, which would be a flop considering Life For Rent sold that in just one week... but to be out of the Top 100 in UK with just 190k, and out of the Top 200 in USA with 140k... OUCH! That beats even the worst pessimistic... Even the floppy Sugababes album is still in the Top 75, despite being released earlier then STH. There are 2 months since no promotion is done for this album... no 2nd single is announced. I doubt there´s any salvation for it. Dido is ruined forever... and she deserved exactly this, for turning her back at her fans and becoming a lazy arse.

It ended up with sales of 191,000, the #78 album in the UK year-end chart. In the USA I suppose sales must be around 120,000, and worldwide sales, acording to mediatraffic estimations, are just short of 700,000 copies.

Surprising to see Dido ahead of Snow Patrol. I had the impression they had a much better chart performance. Altough both remain huge flops...
